Extremely sorry guys! My sister was a bit grumpy last night, so I had to wrap up real quick... here's last night's episode:
Rajveer now stood at the panel. Koel was being comforted by Nandini and Abhimanyu.
"I - had... I knew that..." he took a deep breath. "I had come back from school, to find them beating her, so I tried to stop them when... HE came in and stopped them." Flashes of a beautiful but broken woman is shown, nearly unconscious, as a younger Gehlot comes in and indicates for the men around her to leave.
Rajveer grit his teeth, trying to control his anger. "He had a great influence on me, so I believed him when he told me that he would make sure that those men went to trial for this." We see Gehlot comforting and convincing a young boy around 11 years old, and the boy nodding and running inside.
"I went inside to find Koel crying and... she ran away from him whenever he tried to console her. She kept repeating that it was his fault... " An innocent angelic tear-stained face is shown sobbing uncontrollably, and as Gehlot tries to pick her up she runs away, screeching at him that he had done it.
"Mo - her mother didn't speak a word after that, and about a week later she..." he left off, squeezing his eyes shut.
A flash shows us the morgue examiner placing the sheet so that it blocks the bloodshot face of the once beautiful woman from the young boy and little girl's views. Both children are shocked, not able to comprehend the situation. Gehlot places a hand on the boy's shoulder comfortingly.
The scene changes from the morgue to the doctor's office. "She suffered from food-poisoning... it was triggered by an allergic reaction." the doctor tells him. The young Rajveer listens, hidden behind the door with a hicupping young Koel clutching his hand tightly. We know that Gehlot is aware of their presence when he looks to see if they are listening out of the corner of his eyes.
At present, Rajveer throws a disgusted glare at Gehlot. Major Samar nods at him and he gets back to his seat, murmuring comforting words to Koel.
"Sir, this is just from his point of view. It's the misconception of a hurt son!" Major Bhargav objected. "Anyone who was close to my client would say without hesitation that he is and has been a very honest and true person, who dedicates his life to his country."
"That man isn't even worthy of being a husband or a father... how will he ever be anywhere near being a service to his country?!" exclaimed Koel angrily. Rajveer and Nandini pulled her back, and she reluctantly sat down.
After a lot more arguements, Major Samar managed to clear his points so well that even Major Bhargav wasn't able to twist them. Every single point, both from today and yesterday's arguements were presented to the judge and the jury one by one. It is clear that the defendants' and the convicts' faces dropped after each point. As Major Samar closed his arguements with a very full conclusion, it was evident that the truth would win in the end, no matter what it seemed like in between.
The jury discussed the matters amongst themselves, and finally the decision was handed to the judge.
"The jury has unanimously agreed upon the decision that it cannot be denied what the convicted have committed are facts. Therefore, (the full name of Gehlot... sorry I don't know it!) is to be executed in a month after interrogation on the charges of third degree murders (the number unknown), illegal transactions of ammunitions and other terrorist activities which violates the human rights laws. Also, the claim of abuse will be decided after further investigation."
"(Major Nair's full name... sorry again, I really don't want to make it up... and I don't know it...) is sentenced to twenty one years of jail along with 720 hours of community service, after interrogation as well. This case is closed till further investigation."
The entire court broke into a standing ovasion as they heard it, which was actually breaking a rule, but no one seemed to care. Finally, the cult which had been running under the radar for decades or maybe even more was caught red-handed! The entire nation was affected by this decision of the jury.
Rajveer and Koel shared a hug that said so much more than any words could ever describe.
"The bond that was broken slightly when Raj left young Koel in the care of Gehlot thinking that was the safest place for her was now stronger than ever. They both realized their mistakes, and though not every wound or differences were solved, they were ready to give it an honest try." Naveen's voiceover tells us.
~*~*~
The five arrived at KMA at around 7 PM and the four staff members went to their own quarters, each needing some private moments to digest everything. Before that though, they made sure Koel was safely (both physically and mentally) in the care of the six cadets at the canteen.
Koel sat quietly at the corner of the table, pushing around her food but not attempting to eat it. The six exchanged worried glances. Huda was about to come forward but Naina shook her head. Yudi looked at Ali and her, silently asking for permission. After some thoughts, they both nodded.
"Koel... are you OK?" he asked softly, concerned. Koel looked up at him in surprise. She was about to nod but changed her mind and shook her head, tears poruing down as she hid her face in his chest, sobbing silently. Yudi at first didn't know what to do, but then rubbed comforting circles on her back as he remembered his mother and sister do whenever he was ill or depressed.
Ali, Naina, Pooja and Aalekh gathered around her as well, though giving her some air to breathe, murmuring words of comfort and understanding, saying that it was all going to be OK. Huda though, glared at Yudi, thinking it was just the competition. Yudi ignored it; he wasn't out to prove his man-power right now. There were other things much more important than that.
**I'll edit this post later to add the precap.**
