That is a good question that I can stay for. The idea of "perfectionism" is subjective from community to community and what's Sonakshi's subjective is going to be a good struggle for her to come out from.

Also Shaavi, your term of using "biological privilege" is not what you are using it as. Biological privilege is a relationship shared between biological parents and their children and those who are adopted or fostered are deprived of that privilege.

I think you are trying to reference the idea that being a mother universally means being your child's go-to parent however Sonakshi would lose out on being to go-to parent by splitting her time professionally and personally. Mostly it will be little things like what happened in school or a routine moment but I understand your perspective on how Sonakshi would be able to reconcile with that.

I would still say that the makers are blurring lines overwhere in the writing and execution.

Areeba, I am referring to the decision that Sonakshi took of concealing her pregnancy and the birth of Soha to Dev. Here she took advantage of the fact that she was the one who was carrying the baby. And made unilateral decision of not even adding his name to the birth certificate. In any legal system when the parents are fighting for custody of minor, the courts usually favors the mother. She is the one who is being given the custody saying "mother's are better at caring for their child". And that is what I am talking about. It was Sonakshi who decided not to tell Dev about Soha when it was her responsibility in every way. She is bound legally, morally and ethically to tell Dev about Soha's existence, but she did nothing of the sort. Even in yesterday's episode, Dev took full responsibility of the consequences and felt guilty about it.

When Suhana was introduced first time by Sonakshi to Dev, Soha questioned him saying that just because you are my father, you are not my "papa". For me a papa is someone like Bijoy who takes care of her mom. Then Dev had to prove that he will take care of her like Bijoy to be called as "papa" by her. Now it is Dev who is playing the role of a caregiver which is generally played by the mother. Sonakshi was called as "mom" by Suhana till now. But what has Sonakshi done till now where she has put Suhana or now Shubh as a priority over her profession. She has always been shown to prioritize work over Soha and Soha was shown to be understanding. But now when Soha sees her papa making her a priority, she will gravitate more towards him, consider him as her primary parent. So what happens when Suhana will question Sonakshi by not going to her for her needs. She will say you go do your work, papa hain na, woh kardenge. At that point will Sonakshi be ok of losing her biological advantage.

Here is where Bijoy comes in. If tomorrow Sonakshi feels bad that her kids are more inclined towards Dev and that she is not considered as the "best mom in the world" by her daughter, calls herself a failure, will he advice her that it is ok or will he blame Dev and say that it is all Dev's fault. And that is when the whole idea of perfection and social image will come into play. And it will also come back to the document that Sonakshi got Dev to sign just before he was able to take her home as his daughter.

@SP12, you mirrored my thoughts. What you have written is what I am feeling. And that is why I am extremely disappointed with Bijoy. Or I am not surprised, but kind of unhappy that this hypocrisy is not seen by anyone or is easily ignored.
These are the things that is keeping me hooked this season. 😃

Yesterday, it was Dev who was supporting Sona and today, it was Sona... What they are doing is unconventional but I am loving the way, both of them are working as true life partners...

Can't wait for Monday and see how both of them deal with the first hurdle..

Thank you Suyash..I dont see any atyachaar happening on Dev honestly..Like how its been portrayed..why he is doing household work or anything apart from kids work..He is house husband he has takes responsibilities of Soankshi ..and apart from kids Sonakshi have other set of duties too..so he will take care of that as well..This is indeed a bold and brave step from Dev and I truly respect it and love it..

Its is difficult to accept because we dont see it happening around..isliye mard ghar ka kaam kare ..OH his status his identity will be lost..thats how POVs are and it sad very honestly..and Dev is business man..and shud remain one all his life..he cant keep his identity as "fathr" or "husband" as priority and he has to maintain his izzat as businessman..Very disappointing..acceptance chodo I see people dont even want to give him chance because what is looks like sonakshi is free bird and Dev is some slave or a full time maid..it hurts

No offense My POV

Mahua, @bold blue, what you have said is one of the crux of this theme. From the beginning when Sonakshi went to cook or did anything, always there was discussions of how regressive the idea is of women being forced to leave their parental house and go to husband's house. How Dev should know balancing between wife and mom automatically. That there should be gender equality, that Dev lied constantly etc. There were lots of posts about women empowerment, feminism and equality. With this track they are bringing the male perspective to the focus. We always say that women do so many things around the house, "sacrifice" their dreams for the sake of keeping home and bringing up their children, still she doesn't get the appreciation they deserve.

But do fathers, husbands get the appreciation they deserve. They are expected to work everyday, fight the world for their families, give a comfortable home, good food, warm clothes and good education to their kids. They are also supposed to think about future like sending kids to good college, giving them an opportunity to have a better life, make sure their dreams are fulfilled, send them to trips if needed etc. But is any father/husband ever appreciated for their contributions. It is not even mentioned. isn't a man sacrificing his freedom to be that bread winner for his family. Just like you said it is about how society views the roles played by man and woman, "what is looks like sonakshi is free bird and Dev is some slave or a full time maid". Why should a woman think that she is "sacrificing" for her family by letting go of her career or her professional dream. Similarly why is man forced to be the provider without even thinking about his wants.

For me what Dev is doing or what any woman does by choosing to be a homemaker, she is "compromising". Similarly, a man is "compromising" by going out to work to provide for his family. Only when we stop looking at giving up something as "sacrifice", but start looking at it as "compromise", we can lead a happy life. We in that way complete each other so that both of us can win and no one loses. If a woman should be appreciated for her contributions inside the house, a man should also be appreciated for everything he does outside the house. It is about yin-yang working together. That no one is less than the other.

You are absolutely right Yes I feel bad for Dev. Why not? I feel for his genuine effort to live up to the task that he himself alotted ..homemaking. I feel for him for knowingly stepping back from continuing his much coveted work process that brought out the best out of him to the extent of inventing a new soft ware. I read some one said...What Sonakshi could do to her company no other appointed nutritionist could do because she is the best. What about Dev? A team of IT professionals can manage his work I was told. Really? Or even magnanimous is another line that I was told.. Vikky will learn for sure. Are we sure that it will happen?

My husband is in business. I know how important it is to make the right decision at the right time. Did you remember when Dev sold his shares overnight his people and Vikky considered him mad. But end result was ...Dev was proven right. If Sonakshi is indespensible to her company Dev is so for his business I hundred times more I must say.

When I read comments like we are not able to support Sonakshi's unapologetic but undying spirit to go for her goal I wonder why should there be discrimination in even admiring the effort. They can feel for Sonakshi when she tried to learn cooking to please Iswari Dadi Bua in the begining. How good she is? But when we feel bad for Dev for doing so we will be criticised. Why can't a male do such things so on and so forth..

Shaavi Dev is telling a lie to Sonakshi that he dropped the kids in time. Why? He can simply say we are late.. You know the reason? Perfectionist Sonakshi won't take it lightly. Yesterday she asked Dev whether they could ever be perfect parents. But she did not understand being a good parent is more essential than being perfect.

Yes I feel bad for Dev no two ways about it. Let the modernists brand me narrow minded. No problem.

Ah I finally get what you mean. Initially I was thinking you are using the terminology wrong but I get how you are using it now.

I would disagree with you on Sonakshi not informing Dev though but I would agree on Sonakshi imposing herself as a better parent for being present in Soha's life when Dev wasn't there when she needed him.

To be honest, i think there is a good answer for Soha when she asks her mother the same thing she asked her father but depends on how creatives are going to handle it. so far I am iffy on the way its handled but i'll wait to see.

I don't know why. I am not at all feeling excited with this season of KRPKAB. That's why didn't feel like posting anything in the forum. So, just copy pasting the post I made under Shaavi's post in the main forum.

Shaavi...For me, though the promos for S2 managed to convince me that the show is back with its old charm, after the first 2 episodes, I lost the excitement. Reason is not Dev being the house-husband; because when I myself have friends who have done it I don't find it as an out of the way thinking. At the same time I don't know what exactly is the reason. Except for the kids, nothing, not even Devakshi scenes is pulling me to the show. To be frank, if I am still watching the show, it is only for the actors who have agreed to come back and do the show only for their fan's happiness. That is where you are surprising me again and again. I don't know what to say, when I see how you still trust the makers and keep on doing your analysis & predictions. And it seems that, (though I don't have any hope and trust in the makers), your trust may not go in vain. Mrs. Mandol is back on the show. See this link

I am glad how track story is progressing every character is doing right as per them but still end up making some mistake or the other..and Its so pleasing to see how no one is shown perfect ..They all have their share of faults

Yesterday with Bijoy pointing out Dev;s mistake ..Hmm He could have talked alone but still I liked that he was still much calmer then what he was initially..also how Ishwri caught Dev and kids lieing..and Sona too was feeling guilty but what made me most happy was that she didnt blame Dev for anything and understood him saying she too is equally responsible for kids so I love that reaction of Sonakshi..also little Ishwari Dev scene was wonderful..Ishwari getting angry and Dev pacifying so adorable <3..Last scene was the most conflicting one for me as I could relate to both Dev Sonakshi's POV and couldnt side anyone

TOday's episode brought in a new angle that having NANNY at home ..though it is quite a common thing thee day but with Ishwri and Trixits its not going to be so easy..Dev said u can play with shubh have time with him but also he doesnt want her to feel burdened or bound because of Shubh ..and I totally felt his point..But yes completely leaving baby with Nanny in the starting isnt a very comfy option but then members of this house can keep an eye on her and gradually you develop some trust on her..Ishwari panicking in precap is so her trait..Its made me little upset..she is really not having patience..oh yes one more thing I am super happy Sonakshi gave 1 month time to Dev to prove himself and is giving him space

All in all I dont know how everyone feels or takes this track..but I am welcoming every bit of it with open arms <3 and makers are bringing very relatable issues...So good job

Finally, I was able to watch an episode on TV... (I saw the previous ones on my flight back home... Downloaded them at the airport)...

And, while I know, like usual, some members will once again express their displeasure on how terrible the episode, like they usually do... I enjoyed the episode...

It was a sweet episode which made me emotional and sentimental at certain points... I love how I could watch an episode and when it ends, I have a smile on my face...

KRPKAB is a beautiful series and I loved the parallels that was shown today... When Sona received her award last time, she also dedicated her award to Dev, as a medium to mock him and tell him, how she has proven him wrong...

Both of them were hurt and only did things to cause the other one pain...

But, now, another award ceremony and once again, Sona dedicates her award... But, this time, everything is so different... This time, instead of being competitors, they are partners.. This time, she did acknowledge the contribution of Dev in her life...

Some say Sona is not expressive and that she doesn't feel anything but today, she was pretty emotional... She did shed tears but they were due to the happiness of being Mrs. Sonakshi Dixit...

Some are lamenting the fact that Dev is no longer actively handling his business empire... But, yet, he is happy with his life... And, loves what he is doing...

Suhana does consider her father 'Super Dad' and she also knows that her mother, sometimes, doesn't have the time... But, yet, she loves them both and is more attached to her father... And, Sona is happy and not jealous that she is not the most favorite parent of her daughter...

On the other hand, I am guessing that Shubh is more likely to turn out to be a 'Mamma's boy'...

Bijoy might show preference between his children, but Dev does not... Asha might not consider Bijoy the 'best husband' but Sona does.. Ishwari might doubt his son but Soha has full faith in her father, And, I think, that makes all the difference in the world...

Point is, unlike some people, I expect to see a show where the two people in a relationship which is balanced and stable... Yet they are not perfect... The lack of absolute perfection in their relationship makes it more interesting...

I feel, that is so much more close to reality... My parents are nearing their silver jubilee, but I still don't think that they perfectly balance each other out... And, sometimes, they do things which make me question how could they be together..

But, it is pretty amazing to watch them together.. They laugh, they share jokes, they argue but you know, nothing is going to break them apart... You know, whatever they might say about each other, they are exactly where they wish to be...

To be honest, their relationship is pretty great and I feel that makes their partnership even more special... And, I feel the same way when I watch Dev and Sona... They are different and they do not do things perfectly but they are exactly where they wished to be and are happy and content in their lives...

-Suyash.

P.S: @sjain, I completely agree with you.. I was expecting some fireworks.. And, I did get some... But, they left me with a teary smile.. I am happy that I was able to catch this episode, live on tv..

Oh you don't know how happy I am to read your post! I was restless because I couldn't understand why people were reacting as they are. But you literally took words out of my mouth. I mean exactly what I am feeling. Sona is expected to not be perfect and have faults, but at same time always keep her cool, never over react, never be rude, never go a step too much, always accept her mistakes (ya like we do it everyday huh!), not be worru ed about her image (though I don't see that) etc etc. So then what will be her faults?
And to me Franky it seems just like a real couple. There is always someone who runs things who takes charge. And as I always say I think I connect more because my parents ditto same. I mean if you would think how do they stay together. But that is it
They do!
So thank you for making this post. Good to see someone enjoying the story like me.
