I agree that Sona was saying alag as in "different" rather than "separate." In fact, I really appreciated how clear she was in yesterday's episode after all the confusing miscommunication. She dealt with the problems she had head on, instead of trying to use mixed metaphors and comparisons. In the end, I think what was most important from her side was that emphatic assurance of her love for Dev, and her love for his way of loving -- it's just that she has a special place she wants to keep that love, rather than having it permeate and control her entire existence. In the end, it's really a question of emotional housekeeping -- when Dev wants to express his love, what is the best channel to use so that it is received as the love it's intended to be, rather than mistranlsated as suffocation? How can Sona be better at communicating where the right channels are instead of just getting angry that he used the wrong ones? I hope that's what gets addressed today.
The highlight of the episode for me, thought, was Dev and Ishwari's conversation. That expression on Ishwari's face when she had her flashback was heartbreaking. For once, she didn't see Dev, the capable son and her partner in adversity -- she saw her child, who had suffered for her mistakes, and despite her own realisation and transformation, continued to suffer for them. What happened next really touched my heart. Ishwari held Dev's hand, and in a way very reminscent of Sona in their early relationship, gently pulled him out of frantic survival mode and into their new reality. Dev, she reminded him subtly, we are no longer fighting for our lives and the roof over our head; you can be happy and feel safe and enjoy being in love. Sonakshi may have been alone all of those years, but she wasn't destitute or grasping for survival. She managed beautifully, without incurring too much trauma, because she is the strong, confident, independent young woman you fell in love with. All those years, she didn't lack safety, security or basic care (like I did); she lacked happiness, the happiness that can only come from you and your happiness. And even though it was only conveyed in a tiny change of expression (generous applause for Shaheer), I think this is what got through to Dev. He realised that what he had been doing did not come from a place of love-fuelled joy, but one of love-fuelled fear. Sona could sense this fear which is what made her so uncomfortable with his actions right from the moment he put his arm around her in the coffee shop. We have seen her bask in his care when he does very similar things, but from a place of happiness, and I think that is what that last line in Ishwari's dialogue conveyed. What is beautiful about this is that it gets into the nitty-gritties of what it means to let someone new into a household. In S1, Sona tried to take charge of IN the day she set foot inside and Ishwari resisted, seeing this newbie as a direct challenge to her power. This time, thanks to open minds, wiser for their suffering, they are genuinely getting the chance to understand and adapt to each other. This sort of candid conversation was a huge part of the process when Devakshi first became friends and fell in love. At the time, Dev found it incredibly liberating, but because of the pull in the other direction from Ishwari, he never got to explore this form of communication to its full potential. Sona, in her effort to really become a Dixit, tried to play their game instead of holding onto this USP. That's all changing now. Ishwari and Sona are having conversations where Ishwari asks Sona to make her understand and is really listening, and with a little encouragement from Mamaji, she is bringing the same openness between her and Dev -- how beautiful is it that Ishwari and Dev are learning to communicate the way Dev and Sona do (at their best), so that she can help them when they aren't able to help themselves. With Vicky's situation as a wake-up call, even Mami and Elena are opening up communication and beginning to form a unit of their own, deeply concerned now about how Golu might be following in his father's footsteps. Soha, on the other hand, is absorbing a little bit of the Dixit core principle of supporting your apne, even if it means compromising your ideals temporarily. From her perspective, Golu was an integral supporter when she first met Dev, and nobody knows better than her what it's like to be separated from your papa, so she is there for him now in whatever way he needs. In the end, what we are seeing is the integration of a new family unit, with all its ups and downs.
Yes DQ he should be saved from CVs who experiment in every way with his ch. He should be saved from inner and outer rivals.Originally posted by: thedramaqueen

yes. I feel so. Reason I gave in my post. I refuse to believe that Dev needs to learn the difference between parental love and couple love. I would have agreed if he was shown so in season 1 also.Originally posted by: thedramaqueen
The character needs to be saved from the very writers who write him? i.e. they are butchering him?
