Two Much Ep 4 Review: Govinda, Chunky, and the great chaddi chaos that went nowhere

Episode 4 of Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle having Govinda and Chunky Panday might just be the weakest and most boring one so far.

Too Much ep 4 review

The fourth episode of Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle promised fireworks with Govinda and Chunky Panday on the couch. On paper, that’s comedy gold waiting to happen. Two of Bollywood’s most naturally funny men, and two witty hosts, so what could go wrong? Turns out, quite a lot.

Right from the opening frame, something felt off. Kajol and Twinkle didn’t look like they were having fun, and the energy never picked up. The laughter felt forced, the questions felt rehearsed, and the entire thing played out like a painfully polite press junket. Kajol even said, “So let’s start with the first question,” as if she were a journalist pulling out cue cards instead of a host vibing with old industry friends.

The show, which usually banks on spontaneous banter and personality-driven warmth, felt strangely mechanical. It was less “too much” and more “too long.”

From Comedy Legends to Chaddi Jokes

Once the introductions were done, the conversation took a sharp turn into underwear territory. Yes, really. What began as a harmless callback to Chunky’s Chaddi Pandey nickname quickly became the episode’s unfortunate running gag. For almost five full minutes, everyone seemed trapped in a loop of “chaddi this, chaddi that.” The humour was so juvenile that even a 30-second Instagram reel might have done it better.

Viewers expecting the charm of Hero No. 1 or the quirk of Aankhen were left wondering if the writers had simply run out of ideas and decided underwear talk was the safest bet. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t.

Kajol and Twinkle: Off Beat and Out of Sync

Kajol usually quick wit and natural warmth, seemed visibly off. Her questions came out stiff and oddly formal, almost like she was reading from a teleprompter that didn’t belong in this setting. The spark that lights up her usual banter with Twinkle was missing entirely.

Even Twinkle, who usually knows how to stir up a good chat with her signature mix of sarcasm and sensitivity, looked like she was waiting for the episode to end. Their chemistry usually the heart of the show was lost somewhere between awkward pauses and scripted laughter.

Chunky’s Anecdotes: Almost There but Not Quite

Chunky Panday, to his credit, did try to inject some charm into the dullness. His story about his unexpected stardom in Bangladesh was actually quite entertaining, as he became a local superstar there, releasing films on Eid and even earning the title of the “Amitabh Bachchan of Bangladesh.” He was warm, goofy, and self-aware, joking about how he’s now known as “Ananya Panday’s father” or “Bhavna Panday’s husband.”

It was the kind of light-hearted storytelling that Too Much usually thrives on. Unfortunately, the editing and pacing killed the flow. Instead of leaning into his humor or letting the moment breathe, the show jumped abruptly to another unrelated segment.

Still, his anecdote about his father feeling proud to be introduced as “Chunky Panday’s dad” at a medical conference was surprisingly touching. That small window into family pride and generational success was one of the few genuine moments of the episode.

Govinda’s Philosophical Turn and a Rare Candid Moment

Govinda, on the other hand, was his usual unpredictable self, philosophical one second, theatrical the next. His thoughts on fame and destiny meandered in all directions, often landing nowhere. There was talk about “rebirth,” “environment,” and “planning,” but not much of it came together.

However, one segment stood out: when he spoke candidly about his wife, Sunita. Amid months of gossip about their alleged split, Govinda addressed her presence in his life with surprising honesty. He called her unfiltered, admitted she sometimes says things she shouldn’t, and even joked about how she has to apologize later.

For a brief moment, the camera captured a softer, more grounded Govinda, the man behind the headlines. That alone might have been the episode’s only real highlight.

The So-Called Game Segment That Went Nowhere

Every episode of Too has a light-hearted game. This time, it was the “This Side or That Side” round, but even that couldn’t rescue the energy. The questions about abs, driving, and marriage felt random.

Govinda dismissing six-pack culture by saying legends like Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar didn’t have abs was mildly amusing, but the rest of the round was a complete wash. Chunky looked like he’d mentally checked out halfway through, and Kajol’s half-hearted reactions didn’t help either.

The chemistry that should’ve made this round sparkle was missing. What could’ve been a fun ending turned into more small talk with no punchline.

Final Thoughts: A Snoozefest Disguised as an Episode

Episode 4 of Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle might just be the weakest one so far. It was disjointed, badly paced, and stripped of the spontaneity that made the earlier episodes work. The jokes fell flat, the segments felt forced, and the hosts seemed disconnected from their guests and from each other.

At this point, Too Much might need to take a breather and find its original charm again because the audience is starting to feel that the title applies less to the fun and more to the fatigue.
