From the moment Dev was aware of his mother's past he was lost and completely relied on Sonakshi for strength and direction. When Sona made possible the impossible, relieving Ishwari of her burden by bringing Khathri's truth out and a chance for atonement of her mistake, Dev saw his mother embracing her without inhibition. It was something he had wished for with all his heart. But Ishwari and maami's conversation made him realize that even though his mother embraced Sonakshi the girl who went out of her way to heal them, she still had reservations regarding her ex-DIL. Sonakshi's words before their separation on how he failed to bind them with love might have been ringing in his ears when he left from there.

Along with the realization on how difficult it was for his mother to accept Sona wrt their past it also made him understand that it must have been difficult for Sona to do what she did for them. She knew that if her leaving him broke him, it would kill him if something happens to his mother. So whatever she did was for him. This recognition was playing in his mind when Sona interrupted his thoughts, asking him to share his problems with his" friend". Mr. Perceptive Dixit saw that his "khargosh" was trying to hide her love as the concern of a very dear friend. So of course he asked whether she does this for all her friends and knew that her hands were tied just like his were before. He understood both the women in his life like the palm of his hand but they failed to understand each other and it was his failure. Once he realized it he set about to right the wrong.

It was so endearing to see their excitement knowing that both the families are putting in a conscious effort to break the barriers to be at least cordial with each other. Seeing Sona seated with her family in his home with all due respect and his mother trying her best to be the perfect host and welcoming them with all her heart made Dev so jubilant that he was glowing with happiness. He was drinking in that sight like a man dying of thirst. Sona kept looking at him, his happiness and excitement perfectly in sync with her. Their family sitting together amicably without being at each other's throat was something they never thought might happen in this life time and their happiness knew no bounds which they shared with each other, their eyes doing all the talking. The time stood still for them.

When Sona went to the kitchen to help Ishwari they interacted with the same kind of warmth they had for each other when Sona was just her doctorni, until Dev came. They both felt awkward while Dev cruised along as if it was perfectly natural. But his effort didn't go un-noticed.

Because it was both their heart's deepest desire Sona knew instinctively that Dev made this happen. They stood together admiring their family getting on with each other from afar, Dev calling her khargosh and Sona responding to his endearment because they were finally in that happy place. Dev doesn't want to push Sona and also know that she is not ready to give more than what she is giving now even though she still loves him deeply. She is bound by the promise she gave to her father and unless and until Bijoy feels that Sona will be taken care of like he expects her to be and relaxes his stance she will be incapacitated by it. Dev is in a place now where he can understand Bijoy's fears and his irrational behavior. Time was something they were deprived of and he was willing to give just that to their relationship to let it blossom again with the blessings of their family.

Sona showed her vulnerable side when she called Dev after he left her to deal with the power cut. But once he understood that she needs him he never once left her side even when they were unable to locate Soha and Golu's whereabouts only making sure that his mother will be fine asking her to stay wherever she was.

Elena and Vicki had been side heroes all their life to Sona and Dev which was what brought them closer. Vicki used the same reference knowing fully well how much it will hurt her. He had always hated the comparison and this hatred is his driving force which he wanted Elena to take too. It is so sad that he doesn't even know how wrong he is. If by any chance he does win his goal he will lose Golu forever. Golu will hate him just the way he hated Dev all his life.

Elena's ch always interested me. She is a complicated ch for me to understand. But her above dialogue certainly helped me realise the true person under the garb of an impulsive,easy going ,simple and non interfering girl that we very much like to overlook or sideline.

Elena loved Vicky to the extent of leaving her family for the sake of her love. She is in total contrast to Sonakshi who choose her parents over her lover,husband and family life.

Elena survived in IN surprisingly . For a girl who is so outgoing,and uninhibited in adopting western culture be it her dress sense or her friend circle,it really must be so difficult to say the least. But she emerged successful in maintaining the balance without losing her core ch.

Elena is a non interfering Bahu for both GKB and Iswari. She stayed away from inhouse administration and kitchen supervision. She, like Sona is not adept in those matters so she preferred to have a safe distance from such responsibilities. Iswari withdrew into her lonely life and GKB liked just what Elena did. Leaving everything to her.

With Golu's birth Elena got more appreciation from her inlaws .She gave a future hope to Dixits and Tripathis. Like most of the viewers I also thought Elena did not care for her cute Golu and neglected him. Dev was the one who took Golu into his loving and protective arms.But now I understood why Elena did so.

Elena's equation with Dev since the begining is very special.She is the one who witnessed the love story with enthusiasm and felt sad when things did not work for them. The break up left Elena stand alone,away from her own family especially from the sister she loved heartfully. She saw before her eyes how shattered Dev was and how he moved away from his goddess like mother.

Elena knew how much Dev loved children Ofcourse from Sona may be. The way Dev held Golu when Elena just came with the new born showed his intense love for the infant. Elena is the one who like Asha refused to accept that finally it is curtains down for Dev and Sona. So she must have felt Golu could fill up the void and bring sunshine into Dev's Sonaless life. What she wished became true. Dev survived separation mostly due to Golu.

I always feel so touched when Elena calls Dev 'Dev Bhai" She pours all her affection into those words. Elena is confident that Dev still loves Golu as much as before though Soha grabs all his attention now. She is not insecure. She is mature enough to understand the trivialities of relationships.

So when Vicky revealed his selfish motives to make Golu the sole successor of Dev,she thought it is high time she should show Vicky the real picture. She declared her Golu will carve his life on his own. She very much will make him do so. If Vicky still insists on continuing with his schemes and plans he will lose his place in Golu's life." You won't be there in Golu's future." She warned.

These words are not uttered by a wife who willingly stood by her husband tearing off her connections with her own people. These words mark the strength and Charecter of a mother who wishes prosperity for her child not as charity but through hard work and competence.

I hail the CVs for Elena's charecterisation. Surely she impressed me. undoubtedly.

I feel it is just Sona's basic nature,how she is wired.Sona is like that from the beginning when she knew that she is in love with Dev also Elena has to persuade her to open up.When Dev came and told that he loves her in the middle of the night, she did not share that immediately with Elena or Daada.They have to take her phone and call Dev then only she opened up.

Same happened during marriage. I think you all remember when Sonakshi sees maami taking money from the drawer, After that incident Dev tells you won't understand , she tells I understand he can't do anything because they are his family.so I think after that she never complained about maami because she knew Dev is bound by his family ties. Same way she told after a point she never forced Daada to loose weight with diet because Daada is family and she understands that only family accepts other family members not only with their strength but also with their weakness.

Then when Dev comes and tells that Ishwari has told him to marry Sona or marry someone else he tells he needs jeevan saathi who can give him both saath and Sahara.Sona knew that she can not do that because of her dad and also because of so many other problems and complications like Ishwari ,maami . That's why she told him to go ahead and also at the same time she told about Bijoy's condtiton and also told him she won't remarry anyone.

Yesterday also she called Dev when power went off and Dev understood her and he never left her.That's what she expects from Dev. I think it is no facade or hiding her emotions. Sona is trying her best in terms of her own strength and I hope one day she will be so comfortable with Dev that she can completely open in front of him.

Dev can always put his thoughts in words that is his strength,during courtship,marriage it is always Dev who has expressed his love with words than Sona.Sona is more of action who wants to do everything by herself that is her weakness sometimes.

@Shaavi, i don't think if Dev has bear the burn, then Sonakshi should also. Specially if i talk about this thread, everybody has tried to understand all the characters of the show. N as per rules burning (read bashing) is not allowed, so there is no scope for it. 😆

N as far as basic nature is concerned i guess, the core characters are understood by everyone. Few understand Dev better and few Sona, but its a common consensus that all characters are flawed and have their own uniqueness. N this is what is celebrated in this thread.
