Did Dev not hold her heart before their breakup in the hospital. Then too she did not feel like sharing her vulnerabilities. Then too she constantly projected herself as perfect. I feel that she thinks that unless she is perfect, she will not get Dev's love or she is not good enough for him. But this is something that is only in her mind which is not true. I feel it is like Ishwari's insecurities, where she felt Dev falling in love with Sonakshi and not telling her was a shortcoming of her upbringing, Sonakshi has the insecurity about "perfection" which is constantly demanded by Bijoy. That has molded her in a way that she fears that at any time her mistakes or any kind of vulnerabilities are revealed, she will lose that love she has got from them(Dev and her family). That they will not treat her the way she is treated now.

The toxicity that is usually discussed regarding Dev and Ishwari's relationship applies to Sonakshi and Bijoy's relationship. If the earlier is obvious for everyone to see, the other is subtle and one needs to pay attention and look beyond what the curtain to understand it. The "perfection" demaded by Bijoy of Sonakshi has taken a toll similar to Ishwari's demands of Dev. I think given a choice she would gladly exchange places with Elena who doesn't mind doing mistakes or is strong to stand by the person she loves.

This is my thoughts. Not intended to hurt anyone. Am just trying to understand Sonakshi's need for constant contradiction of herself.

I feel it is just Sona's basic nature,how she is wired.Sona is like that from the beginning when she knew that she is in love with Dev also Elena has to persuade her to open up.When Dev came and told that he loves her in the middle of the night, she did not share that immediately with Elena or Daada.They have to take her phone and call Dev then only she opened up.

Same happened during marriage. I think you all remember when Sonakshi sees maami taking money from the drawer, After that incident Dev tells you won't understand , she tells I understand he can't do anything because they are his family.so I think after that she never complained about maami because she knew Dev is bound by his family ties. Same way she told after a point she never forced Daada to loose weight with diet because Daada is family and she understands that only family accepts other family members not only with their strength but also with their weakness.

Then when Dev comes and tells that Ishwari has told him to marry Sona or marry someone else he tells he needs jeevan saathi who can give him both saath and Sahara.Sona knew that she can not do that because of her dad and also because of so many other problems and complications like Ishwari ,maami . That's why she told him to go ahead and also at the same time she told about Bijoy's condtiton and also told him she won't remarry anyone.

Yesterday also she called Dev when power went off and Dev understood her and he never left her.That's what she expects from Dev. I think it is no facade or hiding her emotions. Sona is trying her best in terms of her own strength and I hope one day she will be so comfortable with Dev that she can completely open in front of him.

Dev can always put his thoughts in words that is his strength,during courtship,marriage it is always Dev who has expressed his love with words than Sona.Sona is more of action who wants to do everything by herself that is her weakness sometimes.

If Sonakshi has darkness scare her family would have known it. Bijoy and Asha must have known it. It is an issue that parents will definitely be aware of. If Sonakshi hid her issue playfully it is fine. But even in normal issues Sonakshi won't expose herself. May be she is so by nature

Where is the necessity for her to project herself as someone that she isn't in certain aspects. I am trying to better my understanding , that's all.

Arey its not a lie. Infact i have seen people doing it normal circumstances too. Don't we all deny our fears many a times. N here the situation was different. Sona is opening up but slowly. N this is a part of her core character, she has never let it out even when they were relationship. N m hoping when she will break, she will herself admit everything.

@shaavi, agree with your thoughts. Knowingly or unknowingly her family is building too much burden on her with their constant chant of you are strong and independent and perfect and brave etc. I feel at present she needs some one who can tell her that it's OK to fail or flawed or to be imperfect or vulnerable and it's perfectly fine.
