agree with above except the first point. Please look at it from Dev's point of view. Neha was his sister and was being tortured. Sona was not being tortured and still left, (as per him) . Ishwari too has the same rant. They completely forget Neha while talking about the way a DIL should behave. This is double standards at its best and is actually quite prevalent. Why do you think makers emphasised on UP brahmin family so much? I am from North India and I know what I am saying. But I am not sure I am able to explain it properly. See agreeing in principle that women have equal rights and accepting a hit on male ego that my wife rejected me are not one and the same thing.

On the contrary Payal I think you are making absolute sense. I know what you are saying here.
Till the point Sonakshi was a young beautiful successful divorcee, she was an eligible spinster and he was hurting that Sonakshi has moved on (with Jatin). When she told him that Jatin is her friend and she has no plans to remarry he calmed down. When he found out she is a single mother of a 6 year old he calmed down furtherI am saying, that is not Dev Dixit and that is not Devakshi love story either. Today, if Sona was to marry a man who says he wants nothing to do with Soha and for argument's sake, Sonakshi agrees, Dev will have less of a problem(In fact he will still have a problem because Suhana still wants to live with her mother and father). Ofcourse the lover in him is hurting, but his sole focus right now is Suhana. He knows Suhana has had a fulfilling childhood without him and he hates being the spare tyre. He wants a meaningful relationship with his daughter and wants to hedge any risks that come in the way. The biggest risk right now being Jatin.Jatin is a risk not only because he is close to Suhana. But also, because he is close to this family and any marraige interests from Sona's part will mean, Jatin could slide into Suhana's dad's position. The lover in Dev is very very raw. So is Sonakshi. She was equally affected by his interests in other women. However, they have both given up on that front. But their relationship with Suhana is very much alive and unfolding

Thanks for articulating what I was trying to say.But I feel that we will have to agree to disagree on this one. If Sona tomorrow wants to marry another guy and let Dev have Sohas custody will be it ok with Dev? In my opinion, No. .

@PayalI think if Dev is sure of Sonakshi's feelings for another person he will definitely let her go. Dev will be devastated but if he knows Sonakshi loves another man (like a woman loves a man) then he won't hold her back.

Let me twist it slightly. Suppose Sona agrees to marry another guy, hand over sohas custody to Dev and Dev is sure that Sona doesn't love that other person but is doing it just to move on in life or to keep her father happy or to get rid of daily fights or to make Ishwari happy or any other xyz reason, will it be ok with Dev? Will he be happy to get Suhana for himself or try to stop Sona?

No Payal he wont. Because Suhana wants both her parents. However, even if Dev stops her for his love, it doesnt make this couple bound by orthodox thoughts
