Dev was kept in the dark, not Sona.

I don't come to this forum and perhaps I should keep it that way because there is nothing but negativity here.

Now that Dev knows about Soha, everyone here is out to call him names once again- Why? Because he wants to show love to his Daugher. A daughter he did not ignore but a daughter he wasn't told about. He was kept in the dark to the point that Sona's dad is willing to move back to Kolkata just so she is 'hidden' from Dev and Sona is pretty much reacting the same way otherwise she wouldn't have agreed about not saying anything to Elena about Soha.

Oh but that's ok for you guys because Dev is such a monster that he doesn't even deserve to know he has a daughter. He is a monster because in the cross fire of daughter in law and mother he was trying to please them both.

He is a monster because even tho he told Sona that he chose her, she still didn't believe him and chose to leave. What a great person Sona is who believed a scum like Vikki but not the words of the man she loved.

Dev has every right to be angry and claim his right over Soha. Sona left Delhi, Dev didn't. Sona knew where they lived so she could've easily told him about Soha 7 years ago. He hasn't every right to know and be a part of his daughters life so those who think Sona is a saint, time for a wake up call.

P.S. bash all you want as that's what this forum mostly does when it comes to Dev. Am used to it and that's why I mostly stay away from here but someone should defend Dev atleast.



P.S. Pls don't defend Sona using my post title. I know she couldn't be kept in the 'dark' about her pregnancy. This is not implied at all by my title! Kuch bhi!

All the wrong reasons you mentioned there for him to be termed as Monster. Below are the reasons -

I used to avoid the forum since beginning for this reason. IF has a tendency to be more negative instead of constructive. While Dev's decision wasn't all correct, it was at par with his character and with his strained relationship with Sonakshi, his unveiling of himself to Soha was a good idea since the truth had to come out one day or another. At least this way, neither parent stands at wrong in Soha's eyes.

9. Slapping (accidentally ?) his FIL. Monster check. Not working on apology on his own until Sona was not coming back.

10. Saying Getout to Sonakshi. Monster check.

11. Calling her out on motherhood, gold-digger and mocking her profession. Monster check.

Against all these monstrous act, when I put a drunkard bevda's words like 'I chose you between you and maa', it is as shallow a pile of puddle to me. The same drunkard insulted sona on Point# 11. Which one is true ?

Unknowingly or not that prenup essentially ensures that Dev has no legal right or say in Soha's life. He is NOT the primary guardian and unless he plans on petitioning the status quo his behaviour could very well be construed as stalking. And had he taken Soha to meet his family without permission it would have been kidnapping.

As for being kept in the dark, clearly the situation is not black and white here. From what we know from the story is Dev callously throughout his wife at the behest of his mother, insulted her line of profession, called her a gold-digger and mocked her infertility issues. In a lot of countries, this would be grounds for mental abuse. Sona despite this, as we know from segments, made an attempt to introduce her baby to the biological father. What we need to know is why after that first attempt she has not attempted to do so again.

As mentioned by someone else on this thread, saying you chose your wife in a drunken stupor after having told her to get out is not exactly confidence inspiring. Also, with regards to Sona believing Vikki, I imagine it wasn't very hard seeing as Dev had behaved so badly before that.

Dev as a character is immensely flawed and needs a redemption arc where he realises how his irrational belief in his mother has caused so much harm to everyone around - especially his ex-wife and daughter. Also as a 30 something year old man he needs to take responsibility for his actions. His mother may be misguided but surely he should have had the strength and rationality to evaluate situations in a logical and fair manner.

Thanks for making this post.. I am totally of the opinion that Dev and Sona both have their faults.. but there are a lot of posts of the forum that put Sona and family on a pedestal.
