Welcome back ruchi. 🤗
Glad to see you back being part of analysis and discussion my friend.😊

Sam and dq, thank you and also congratulations.

Thank you for providing this sane place which is just filled with healthy discussions between open minded people who are willing to listen and agree to disagree with respect when others views doesn't match with them.

Congratulations for pulling out so many silent members from their silence as well as old members from their hibernate mode.

Really happy to see many feathers getting added in to the hat(this thread). Great going guys.👏

Beautiful analysis everyone.👏
I don't know why I really didn't feel anything odd by the reception Elena got from the Boses. It was not the same at all. Bijoy who wrote to Elena after her marriage that he has never felt any difference between Sona, Saurabh and Elena yesterday showed that he doesn't trust her at all. By hiding Suhana from Elena they treated her not as family but as an acquaintance or more as a Dixit. If after her visit Dev had come to know of Soha, even if it was not from Elena, they would have immediately suspected and blamed her. The welcome and the smile is just a 'dikhava". There is no trust and isn't that what matters most?

Ishwari is getting really desperate and she is making mistakes. She made an enemy out of RR yesterday. She is going to be forced to open her eyes and see who the outsider was really. I wanted to quote an HP quote for her.

"Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right."

She have chosen the easy way out until now but now she will be forced to choose the right one.

Bijoy played with Soha yesterday hide and seek in place of truth or dare. He wanted to hide the truth and Dev will dare to seek the truth😆
RR and Vicki are now feeling entitled to everything that the Dixits own. They don't have any use for Ishwari now. She is now more nuisance than of any use to them. I was in splits when Vicki said they considered the Dixits as family until now. If this is how they treat family then I am really scared for their enemies. But their time also have started. When his queen entered the castle he ousted the real queen. This time when his queen leaves he will be ousted just like the expelled queen.

@Danseuse
You have not felt compelled to dissect elenas character because she is a totally one dimensional character and hence bounces off from the brain's thinking radar. 😆

Her philosophy in life is simple - whatever is convenient to me at the moment. Such people have very shallow relationships as they only feel affection for others. Their only true love remains they themselves.

Create a scene in your sister's marriage when you know the grooms side are conservative, elope with a guy who has always humiliated your family, humiliate your family yourself, abandon them in their worst hour because you don't want to rock your comfortable boat and the best- treat your child as an inconvenience. And to balance this throw a few words around to show how sad you feel and drop a few tears but do nothing that might inconvenience you.

Just wait, the day she feels that she would be welcome to stay in the Bose house, she will serve the divorce notice to Vicky. After all the Bose family has now all the convenience and freedom which is getting restricted at Dixit house due to Sona's reentry.

More than elena, I think it is Vicky who drew the short stick. He might be a low life criminal but he is still loyal to the people he actually loves. Elena is I, me, myself multiplied by my comfort and my happiness

Hey all! I am having a bit of an insane week, so won't be on here too much until the weekend, but I have loved catching up on the discussions! After I saw the episode yesterday, my knee-jerk reaction was also disappointment in the Boses as many of you have expressed here. I was absolutely apalled that Bijoy's big plan to conceal Soha involved playing hide-and-seek. And Elena's remark about the Dixits/Tripathis being opportunists was a hoot coming from the woman who has shamelessly availed of free childcare for 6 years. On top of that, everyone from Dixit parivar was on their A-game where it came to manipulation and deceit so I ended up feeling very cynical about the episode But when I slept on it, the morning brought a fresh perspective, especially on Sona.

Here's the thing: I think Sona is leaving the door open for Dev. She's not inviting him in, or telling him that she wants him to come, but she is leaving the door open in case he wants to use it. When this explanation came to mind, a lot of things fell into place for me, including the new spoiler about Sona bringing Soha to the doorstep of IN. During her story about the surajmukhi as well, Sona stated that she waited for Dev after their separation, for days, weeks, a year. She also left the option open for Soha to meet her father when they came to Delhi. What she is not willing to do is take the initiative herself to invite Dev back into their lives. She wants him to bang down the door and decide for himself that he wants her. Remember, she still believes that he is under Ishwari's thumb, so she has been holding herself back for the past seven years from repeating the mistake she made after the first break-up -- letting Dev back into her life when she wasn't totally sure about his feelings.

In a previous post, I mentioned my definition of "dil ke faisle" vs. "dimag ke faisle." From both Dev and Sona's side, the decision to get married was one they took out of fear of losing each other, and the motivations of that decision defined their entire marriage. Becasue of that fear, they were unable to be honest in their communication, which ultiamately doomed their relationship. By going back to the beginning, Sona is demanding that Dev make a "dil ka faisla," one in active pursuit of his happiness rather than one taken out of fear of losing her. The ramifications of Sona's stance are complex and debatable, especially where what's best for Soha, and fair to Dev is concerned, but it helps me to understand where she is coming from.

Like we have discussed, Sona was very scared from the beginning to bare her vulnerabilities. Even when she first fell in love with Dev, she convinced herself that it was pointless to confess to him, but much like she is doing now, left the door open for him to claim the love that was there in her heart. For a person who has that fear in the first place, to put themselves out there is out of character and after coming out of that comfort zone, to have your heart broken to bits makes you recede further into your safe shell. That is where Sona is now -- afraid to trust or depend on anyone.That is why it has to be Soha's decision explicitly to meet Dev, because Sona is so scared that if she initiates contact, it will come off as her using Soha to get close to Dev, and she isn't willing to leave any loopholes in her approach to him. It's all or nothing, she has made her peace with nothing, and she refuses to settle for anything else.

Bijoy senses this and is absolutely horrified by it. He wants to shut that door forever to keep his daughter and grandaughter away from Dev and the Dixits at all costs (Sona marrying Jatin is his answer to this). He knows that once Dev finds out about Soha, the jig is up. It's only a matter of time before Dev is back in their lives. The part of Sona that is Bijoy's daughter is also scared, that Dev will take Soha away from her and she will be left with nothing, but as it is plain for us to see, that is not the part of her making the big decisions -- to come back to Delhi, back to their same old house, and to stand firm in the office she shares with Dev. I am beginning to see that this is a very deliberate tight-rope walk on Sona's part. Much like us, she seems to be waiting for the axe to drop but is unwilling to let go of the rope herself.

Why Dev didn't pursue Sona to see if the door was open is another topic for another day. 😆

This thread is so complete n insightful that there is very little to add to it!
Loved the analyses..

@gmgi :
Geena, I totally agree to your post, even I did not find it surprising to see the Boses welcoming Elena back to their homes. Like you said, it was not the same, Bijoy doesn't trust her anymore and him hiding her sister's daughter by crook explains how he doesn't even want to share their happiness with her. This was definitely not how their relationship was earlier.
Also, I think Boses having forgiven Elena was very genuine because they had little expectations from her, specially since the day she ran away with Vicky. She was someone they loved as their daughter/sister but she was also their responsibility. The day she joined Dixit Family by cruelly sabotaging their pride in the society, she was forgiven. Why? Because all they wanted was that the girl remains happy and content.
They lowered their expectations that day. They must have been hurt when Elena cut off all ties with them but I am sure they did not expect her to leave her husband and luxury for them too.
Now, when she has come back to visit them, they welcomed her with open arms because they had no expectations, hence no disappointments.
She is welcomed and forgiven, but does she have the same place in their hearts? I don't think so.

@Sam:
Lovely analysis...
Specially the quoted part👏 Like you said, Sonakshi has always been protective about her feelings, safeguarding her emotions unless she is very sure. The reasoning you have given to depend on a 6 year old to make a decision also fits perfectly. Thank you😊

Hello dear.[/DIV]

You can call me Ruchi.

I will try to answer your question on Elena but do excuse me if it does not satiate your query.
Each and every person looks at a situation from their own perspective which is why they do what they do as it seems ok to them.
Elena in no circumstance was forced into living away from the Boses, I personally believe so. When she had agreed to marry Vicky and all the drama etc they pulled off , I believe it was then only that she had decided that come what may, she shall be with him.

It cannot be possible she did not think that she may not be accepted by the Boses as it was natural for them to feel betrayed by her or insulted in front of the Dixits coz of her but still she went ahead and took the plunge with him. She was not remorseful about it at all then , this means she was pretty ok in her head with this thought of being away from her family had they given up on her at that instance only. Elena was prepared to live without Boses at the time she married Vicky itself.

What she did later was just a continuation of her decision to marry Vicky. It could have possibly been lifestyle / glamor etc too coz she was clearly into parties etc and not much into family life like Sona. Elena was always selfish. So yesterday her thinking Dixits are selfish made me laugh so much ... ok they are but what are you honey ?? You have left Golu to fend for himself under his BigCha just for your conveniance , that is being selfish and sly at the same time.

Sona whether she believes it or not is very very much her Father's Daughter ... u know Daddy's girl exactly the same like Dev who is called a Mumma's boy. She has been fending for her family just like him. Bijoy wants to be as influential in her life like Ish wanted to be in Dev's life. So basically these two r facing all these situations coz of themselves.

No one in real life gives up on a three month old marriage so soon. No one.
The slap gate incident was kind of portrayed as intentional from Dev's side ... but what if something else had happened? Involuntary involvement... what do u do then ? Curse the person and break all ties ??

I wonder why Daddy's girl is something to be v proud of while being a Mumma' s boy is being spineless. Again Hypocrisy at its best. So much of gender discrimination.

I hope u find some of your answers in this reply.

Thanks, Ruchi.

I personally think every son who listens to his mother is a Mamma's boy. 😃 But we women are lucky. Because even if we decide to listen only to our Dad and literally follow the same methods and principles, nobody would call us Daddy's girl loaded with sarcasm. Aren't we lucky! But, the problem in this soap is that Dev listens to everything (incl. something which may not be actually right) that Ishwari says, which has resulted in Sonakshi calling him teasingly and sarcastically as 'Mamma's boy'. Though one instance which comes to mind is about keeping your clothes in its right place in the cupboard. Dev has moved on from being a poor boy. He can afford to have addl workforce like Kicchu who can do it for him. Here, Ishwari is doing it which is fair. But, usually in our family, the spouse does it. I have failed to understand why Sonakshi never volunteered. Did she!!? Equality maybe! Main kar sakti hoon toh aap Kyon nahin! 😃

Regarding Elena, I feel that she may walk out of Dixit mansion if Vicky turns completely negative (killer, kidnapping et al). Then would the Boses welcome her or advise her to go back to Dixit mansion!

What is important to understand is that all successful marriages have one thing in common. One of the spouse is a good listener, patient, tolerant and willingly sacrifices. If both are headstrong, hot tempered or poor listeners etc, marriages won't last. One of them has to give in and let the other person win. One has to be calm when the other is agitated. That's why the word 'better half' is coined. If you look at Elena's marriage, she has sacrificed - her family. I want to know more about Neha and how did she handle her life! That would be interesting.
