@gmgi, can I call you Geena? It is geena right? What you wrote was so good. Sigh! These two are still madly in love with each other. Methinks Sonakshi's 'mumma's boy' comment is just to reassure herself that he has not changed and tell herself she's over him. Stilling her hearts cry so to speak with her mind's shout. Dev perversely is quite calm and never reacts to her taunts. I too think as you say he wants her to find out herself how far he has come. I love this about him. Don't ask me why. But Dev's heart has beat only Sona for the past seven years he's just putting on a front. Already we see the clamor of the heart overtaking his mind. Sonakshi needs a bigger push - the beating up of Dev maybe to finally start listening to her heart. Love is in the air. All the best to these two idiotic but lovable duo to find their way again.

Just spotted this on Delhi Craigslist

Ever since his ekdom impossible ex-wife landed in the Capital City of new Delhi, a young man in his mid 30s has been kicked out of his semi-permanent girl friends' hotel rooms. He is now looking for a comfortable room for rent. Usually only used at nights. No Jhulas and fairy lights allowed. Blue, grey and black bedsheets preferred. A safe garage to park his expensive rides will be an added bonus. Will pay rent in cash or kind

@Geena: Such a beautiful post, and such valid questions. I too picked up on the fact that Asha called Sona her best friend; somewhere deep down for both Asha and Bijoy, there is the feeling that Sona has outgrown them and no longer needs their guidance, just their support. But has their daughter really become so independent? Or is she just trying to assure them and herself that she doesn't need anybody's help, that she has grown far beyond the Sonakshi Bose who was naive enough to let love into her life?

In the last season, Sona was Dev's friend, philosopher, and guide because with her, she brought the freshness and honesty of a functional family, as opposed to his dysfunctional household. This season, Sona finds herself in territory that Dev is very familiar with, the sole earner for her family, who feels burdened with the need to appear invincible and infinitely capable. As a result, she refuses to permit her personal desires a voice -- so what if she wanted to come to Delhi to confront Dev and exact revenge? If that is what she needs, she should embrace it no matter how immature it might sound to someone outside the situation. This makes me believe that Dev will be the one to guide her this time, show her how her current path of concealment, despite its pure and honourable intentions, leads to very dangerous outcomes. After all, he learned that the hard way.

Wonderful posts, everyone! 👏

Invisible Ink

All of you have analysed the eye-lock and the Asha-Ishwari conversation so beautifull that I have nothing more to add. What I did want to talk about were some observations regarding the Soha-Golu portion of the episode, especially with regards to the inivisble ink.

When Soha immediately rushed to the principal's office to complain about Golu, only to find that the ink had disappeared, it presented a challenge to Sona's 5-minute decision philosophy. When you are that predictable in your actions, it makes it easier for people to take advantage and pre-empt your reaction. That is precisely what Golu did here. He used the knowledge that Soha would rush to the principal immediately to trap her in a situation that made her look wrong. As much as it should be, the world isn't always fair. In addition, the decisions you make immediately can turn out to be wrong if you don't have all the information.

Sona has justified concealing Soha all these years because of the "blots" on Dev's character, and on the basis of the same "blots" Soha made a decision within 5 minutes not to meet her father. But what happens when they look down and discover that those stains are no longer there? Dev isn't the "mumma's boy" Sona accused him of being anymore, and though that accusation may have been valid once, the blots have now faded. I think it's a lesson to both mother and daughter, that as much as it is important to be decisive and righteous, it's also important to make sure you have all the relevant information before you act, or else you might end up playing right into your adversary's hands.

The second thought that came to mind -- and bear with me because this is a bit more abstract -- is that the invisible ink represents Dev, the invisible rang in Soha's life. It is Golu who possesses the ink and thrusts it into Soha's life... perhaps signifying how he introduces Dev to Soha without her knowing it's her papa. Though Soha knows the ink is there, by the time she tries to tell someone about it, it is no longer visible and she is accused of lying. Her father's visible presence is not there to support her when she needs it the most, and this results in humiliation and anger.

Same as Sona asked the teacher, "what's point of talking about someone who doesn't even exist," the principal asked Soha, "how can you accuse Golu of throwing ink on your shirt when there's no ink there?" And just like Soha made a joke and assured her mother and grandparents that she didn't care to meet her father, she apologised to the principal for something that wasn't her fault. Knowing the ink was there, she was forced to accept that it wasn't, and that's not fair to her. She deserves the truth.
