He said...in a man's life he can love a female the most and that female can be his mother need not be his wife!!

If you just go deeper in the meaning Paps's girl is not the girl who follows the papa blindly - its the papa who pampers the girl and gives on to her every demand. Here the girl is in control and sort of manipulator.

on the other hand Mama's boy is not controlling Mom but otherwise.

For your efforts in trying to think what Ishwari thinks and why... I want to pat your back..👏
Indeed yes.. she is trying to believe the myth that dev's real happiness lies with her only...
Can't understand anything else.. as she has lived in an empty mind..

"An idle mind is a devil's workshop.. " so that totally justifies.. why she has not learnt from her mistakes.. and is still stuck thinking Sonakshi n the Boses are wrong for Dixits n her ladla Dev...

Today I wanted to talk about Ishwari. I am not saying what she did or doing is right nor blaming Sonakshi for everything. But when I saw her justifying herself in this way, I started to think how can a person who is otherwise kind and sensible be this way. So thought of looking at it from her perspective and this is what I feel.

The flashback where she gets slapped because Dev was playing cricket is not jus a defining moment for Dev, but is also the one which defined Ishwari. Coming from the traditional patriarchal family, after her husband's death saw Dev as the savior, as her only hope. She wanted Dev to bring them out of that state of poverty but ensure that they never would see those days. The day she got herself slapped, she took the first decision on behalf of Dev. That day Dev lost himself while Ishwari found herself. From then onwards it was Ishwari who defined the do's and don't's of Dev. Anytime Dev did the do's and it yeilded the result that she was looking for, it made her happy. But on the other hand if he did something that was a don't (like eating ice cream and falling sick), she would be very unhappy. Slowly Dev started to follow only the do's so that Ishwari wouldn't be unhappy. He started defining his happiness only by her happiness.

Ishwari on the other hand started to feel good about defining the do's and don'ts for Dev. She started believing that Dev can only be happy when he follows her do's. This I think was also reinforced by remarks from society. I mean when you see someone one else's kid listening to their mom while your own kid refuses makes you want the "good kid". In S1 it was shown how several mothers praised Dev in front of Ishwari and express a wish of wanting a son like Dev. Ishwari became convinced that what she was doing was not wrong. That what she was doing was for Dev's own good. She believed that only she knows what he wants and what makes him happy. She never saw him as more than a kid, in fact an 8 yr old kid who did not know how to make the right choices. For Ishwari Dev never grew.

Then Dev fell in love with Sonakshi. When Ishwari came to know she was surprised. She could not believe how Dev could be happy when she wasn't. So she told herself that Dev was doing one of the don'ts and this would only lead to his misery. From her perspective she thought Dev could never be happy with someone like Sonakshi. Because Sonakshi did not meet her definition of an ideal bahu. Most of the time what Ishwari had seen was Sonakshi arguing with Dev or vice versa and them fighting. How can a couple be happy when they are fighting? So Dev's decision is wrong. He needs to be protected from making a mistake(Ishwari's thought process). But she saw that Dev was really happy with his choice, his decision to marry Sonakshi. She could not really tell him the truth nor could she accept his decision. She overdosed on the pills.

When Dev and Sonakshi broke up, Ishwari genuinely thought that it was for the best. That Sonakshi was not suitable for Dev. But after the engagement fiasco and Dev's confrontation, she decided to accept his decision and asked Dev to marry Sonakshi. She herself went and got the acceptance from Sonakshi. She wanted to do everything to make Dev happy and tried to tell herself that Dev is now a grown man and should be able to make his own decision.

After the wedding whenever she saw Dev do something with Sonakshi where her happiness or her vision was not met, she became unhappy. Dev who always wanted his mom to be happy as he was accustomed to do bent over backwards to make her happy. Since Ishwari was convinced that Dev can only be happy when she was she came to the conclusion that Dev was not really happy with Sonakshi. The arguments that happened between Dev and Sonakshi reinforced her perspective. As time passed she did try to accept Sonakshi, but always felt that she was not suitable for HER DEV. She felt Sonakshi was taking him away from his dream, his desires, his wishes which was actually hers(Ishwari's). But since before Dev had never expressed having a dream or desire, Ishwari assumed that her's and Dev's dream and desires were the same. Just like how his playing cricket took him away from his responsibilities, marrying Sonakshi did the same.

When the infertility and the 5cr fiasco happened, Ishwari thought Dev had done all this because he was forced by Sonakshi. Her Dev wouldn't do such a thing to his mom. Did her Dev not know that she wanted a grandchild. Did Her Dev not know how she felt about giving his money to someone. Since all these decisions were taken by Dev without consulting her, they yielded wrong results. They did not meet the results she was looking for. Once Ishwari came to the conclusion that she must protect her Dev from Sonakshi, his bad decision.

Even now she firmly believes that all the fault is Sonakshi's and Dev's error in understanding Sonakshi. If Sonakshi had not fought with Dev or did not have any expectations from him and was ready to live as defined by Ishwari, then Dev would be happy(Ishwari's POV). Since Sonakshi demanded certain rights from Dev, Dev was miserable. Once again reaffirming her perspective that Dev and Sonakshi were not for each other. That Dev's decision was wrong and she was right.

After the breakup, when Dev blamed Ishwari as responsible, She could not understand that. How can she be wrong when she knows what's best for Dev. All the decisions that she had taken on his behalf were
right. That she knows her Dev better. Hence she holds Sonakshi responsible for everything. She thinks Dev is not happy as he is now. That his happiness lies only with her.

She will continue to hold Sonakshi responsible till the time 2 truths come out --
1) Vickky's betrayal and actions. This is very crucial to come out. It should be the whole truth I.e. Vickky and maami's hand in breaking up Dev-Sonakshi, Vickky's involvement in the business scam, his intention of killing Dev and of course their greed.

2) Suhana. When Ishwari comes to know that Dev cannot have Soha in his life because of her prenup and that Dev loses in his life because she took the decision of getting his signature, Ishwari will be forced to introspect.

Probably they will show a recreation of the scene similar to the one where Dev first realized that he loves Sonakshi after talking to his sisters. I am referring to the monologue of Dev in front of the mirror. That is when Ishwari will realize the extent of damage her interference and possessiveness caused. I am looking forward to that introspection.

I am not defending Ishwari but am trying to understand how a person who does so much wrong continue to believe that they did not do anything wrong. I also feel sorry for her because when the realization happens that she has actually harmed her son, I don't want to be in her shoes. 😛

Just my POV...

Late to the party... Somebody's (virtual) long legs kept my dil bekarar last night. And, just when I thought there wasn't much to analyse in yesterday's episode (except the long legs and counting the number of bikes Mr Dixit bought in the last 7 years), I see 7 pages worth of analysis! Haw!

So after reading all the wonderful posts here, I had to go back and re-watch the biceps and the legs, sorry, scratch that (Did I say that out loud?). Take two, I had to go back and watch the scenes again to notice face expressions and listen to the dialogues. My Dev-laced brain can't do much analysis-shmanalysis today. I shall leave that in the capable hands of you all.

Dev, see, I told you nah... keep that personal trainer. All those workouts for your core strength and biceps paid off(and those kickboxing sessions will be useful later this week). While I was so busy (checking you out of course, Dev ki Deewani that I am), Dr Bose was busy checking out your biceps(I bet you ladies didnt notice her doing that did you... kabhi kabhi KRPKAB ko meri nazar se bhi dekha karo.. you checkout the last scene. While the longer than neccessary eyelock was on, Dr Bose's hand held Mr Dixit's arms tad bit longer) . Dev, after you left her confused with your #hurt dialogue, I heard her say to herself - saat saal main kuch nahi badla. Aaj bhi Mr Dixit ka horizontal lift ekdom impeccable hai!

PS: We need Ishwari to change from Devaskhi Orange into something else.

PPS: I loved Asha's quiet assertion and Dev's not-so-quiet explanation to his mother - keep the families separate if you want to keep my and sonakshi's worlds separate

Signed

-Dev(akshi) kee Deewani

There is a saying in Tamil 'kodu Potta rodu podra ' 😆 which translates into 'if I draw a line you turn that into a road'. That was one scenario which I want to happen and all you guys are giving awesome scenarios to exploit. If only the CVs utilize half of what we discus here 😆 . Sona has always been perceived as the 'strong' one the one in controlalwys, the fix-it-all type. She's been put on a pedestal by her father and Dev that I think she thinks she shouldn't show she's not what they think her to be. Seeing her unravel like you said in Dev's arms will be an electrifying scene and much needed to show that she too is 'human'. In Dev and Sona's relationship, Dev has always been the heart while she has been the head - so with the reversals going on it will be one hell of a reversal if Sona becomes the heart and Sev the head(though I can't ever imagine Dev being anything but heart, even with the new version of himself, I can see that he's still heart but doesn't wear it on his sleeve for all to see- just my pov) - the way we can see his heart in his eyes when he looks at Sona makes me feel that. So, the point of this ramble is we'd all like to see a demonstrative or a not-in-control Sona. Sigh!!! If only unicorns existed... 😆

P.S @shaavi, Ishwari's psyche analysis was so good. Still, am not a big fan of her, whatever her motivations or reasons 😆

Indeed yes.. i want to see that vulnerability in Sona.. coz every single person has one.. and no one can be so perfect who doesn't make a mistake..
A mistake of trying to be in control of everything is snatching away the opportunity from soha.. the bonding of a father-daughter.. [i hope i can talk here about soha also]
yday we did get a glimpse of how.. soha misses that dad who cud teach her.. being upfront sometimes do not help us from all situations.. coz women in general do not go the other way to attack anyone...

@DQ, can I join the Dev drool party? Gosh the way he so effortlessly carried Sona and the lift and jerk movement - twice I must say in the office to align her properly in his arms - totally droolworthy. The screen just erupts like a volcano when these two are in the same frame. They are marvelous actors. The way Sona inspite of herself was lost in his arms as he carried her out - awesome. And the bemused look on his face as they finally stood outside and Sona's bewilderment - totally mind blowing. The slow slide down to make her stand and the hold(gridlock - more like it 😆 ) again as the earth shook - both literally and figuratively - sigh - running out of adjectives 😳 . And in the office as he just lifted her and Sona started shouting and Dev was a total lovesick puppy then - I too thought given half a chance he would've devoured her for all the yearning I saw in his eyes. Shaheer is just one heck of an actor and together with Erica they are just magic (how many times we used this word?). And the cherry on top is - they give a real earthy vibe as a couple - guess that's why we all go gaga over Devakshi. Look at me - I'm a certified lunatic and I'm being mushy over these two despite being over 40 😆 .
P.S : loved his outburst with Ishwari - totally awesome with regard to story progression and masterclass acting by Shaheer Sheikh.
P.P.S : With the way things are going maybe we will get an epic confession from Sona after all. I so want it now.
PPPS : still can't get over the last scene - watched it on replay many times. Literally flat on the floor after getting this scene after such a looong time. 😉

I am still in lala land after yesterday's episode. But something is giving me nasty vibes from Ishwari. Her resistance to accept her fault feels like a forewarning. She is a very strong woman. But most of her life she have deliberately blocked her conscious mind regarding her unfair treatment of her daughters since it didn't go well with her conviction of being a good mother. But she knew it and felt guilty mainly because Neha never let her off the hook. But it was still acceptable to her since even her son was of the opinion that she didn't have a choice and that it was Neha's nature to crib.
But even after admonition from her son, she still tries consciously to avert the blame. The moment she saw Sonakshi she knew why she was there. And she was trying her best to avoid him. Her dialogue that Sonakshi looks so different and short hair style doesn't suit her at all had me in splits. What was she thinking? She knew her son. She was trying to divert his attention by pointing out that Sonakshi have changed. She doesn't care for him anymore. So it was useless carrying that lamp burning for her.
But just like her, he also knew his mother. He understood what she was trying to do and confronted her with the truth. When he shouted that she was interfering that shook her to the core. She was still playing team-team and he was continuously crying foul. But instead of getting shattered, her subconscious took over and she blamed Asha. I am scared of the day she will accept her truth.

Now Sonakshi, please enlighten me on why you really came to Delhi. Though you maintain that perfect daughter image in front of your father, it is not the same as before. You are now closer to your mother and though she considers you her best friend, you don't. You are lying to her. Are you done with, punishing Dev or did you want to see how he survived without you? Did you believe that you are strong enough to face him and return the favours? Or did you want to confirm that he is now happy and have really moved on and has a family of his own so that you won't feel guilty anymore regarding Soha. But you were not prepared for this Dev. Were you intrigued again like before? Is that why you want to stay close to him? Whatever it is what you say and what you feel are so different. May be it is time you ask yourself what you want.

Dev, you tried to do what Sonakshi did during your first break up. You believed she might have moved on since she is the stronger one and have tried to do it once before and might have if you hadn't interfered. But this new Sona is still single. She seems to have the one quality you admired in your wife, her dedication to her Job and that seems to be her identity. Did you want to see why she didn't have anyone in her life when you have kept your distance this time. You are now the Dev she wanted you to be. Then why are you taking her taunts calmly? Do you want her to find out herself? Why did you feel all of a sudden that you have that haq over her?

Tumi ekdom impossible have now changed to you are impossible😆 The horizontal lift and the eye lock❤️. His caring nature which have always stumped her yet again did its job. She was looking at him in wonder, with an accusing eyes asking him if he cared that much why did he ask her to go. Why he said those horrible things to her? The love and tenderness in his eyes spoke to her heart. She thought she had control over that organ now. But heart wants what it wants. You can try all you want but you won't be able to keep ignoring it once it starts speaking.
These two love each other to bits still. But being vulnerable is something these two fear the most now. They know how much they have hurt each other. Now they knew, what they have tried all this while to hide from each other. And tomorrow Dev is going to fall injured and Sona will hear each and every cry of his. Both are vulnerable now. How long will they try to shut out their heart's cry?
