Wonderful post Tia. I was following this serial as this used to be quite unique and very realistic.

I was intrigued how Sona would handle her over-possessive MIL and spineless hubby. I was actually looking forward to interesting situations and incidents through which MIL and hubby would come around. This would have given some tips to hapless DILs to counter hopeless situations. But alas, apart from the fact, that handsome and rich factors are not the only factors a girl should look into a man, there is no other takeaway from this serial! I am disappointed with the leap and Casanova image.😕

I would say the take-away is to not accept unfair treatment from day 1.

My sister had a few tough initial months in marriage married into a family that had very regressive mentality. But she refused to put up with it and declared to all that she will love and respect all those who love and respect her. It took them some time, but eventually they turned around and its a happily ever after for them.

I'd say being hapless infront of evil in laws will only give them more claws. Show your claws and tell them you won't use them if they don't use theirs.

Well, regarding Dev turning Casanova, here's what I wrote in another post.

A Casanova is a man who treats women like toys, easily picked up and easily discarded. Dev already treated Sona like that. The only difference is that now he has many toys and he plays outside home.

Otherwise, I don't see any difference in his attitude.

He did not respect his legally wedded wife. I doubt he will respect any other random woman.

And like you said, how he will meet his daughter is pretty simple. He will put the blame of his philandering on his wife for leaving him and will conveniently forget that he threw her out a second time from his wife for his mother - again. Isn't that his and his mothers standard MO? Did not she blame Sona for leaving after Dev threw her out?

Ha ha "The only difference is that now he has many toys and he plays outside home"

This line just cracked me up.

On a serious note, felt extremely bad for Sona, she did not deserve this.

But the good part is "We can see an independent Sona, who is more herself and not adjusting for useless Dixits"

Neha is a born *****

Something that does not kill u only makes u stronger, sona will evolve out of all this from her naivety to a wise woman.

Sad that she had to go through this heart break for that but thats life.

Brilliant post. We talk of women empowerment shout our voices hoarse about dignity to women etc, etc. But when it comes to tangible efforts, we show what we are damn hypocrites. I think the makers are just trying to garner TRPs as commercial viability is more important than sending valuable messages to the society. So women empowerment, discrimination against women, tel lene jayega hi

Thanks JShukla, I too wanted the protagonist not to accept the unfair treatment and circumvent the present situation. CVs had built up a nice platform, they just needed to execute the bold DIL part. It would have been an epic story. But this separation is so cliched that the flavour of the original story with a message is all lost.

Must say in real life we have done a much better job when faced with such situations! 😊

Ooh you people discussing The other show on SP😆 don't mind me ranting, I love talking about serials.
I admit that I was a person who judged the show without knowing it ever. Thanks to the intimate (kahenka intimate I watched more nudity and sex on Netflix) scenes which was like everywhere in IF. It's easy to judge it since it's like a standard MO to promote shows these days, show couples doing almost kiss and coming too close, then shadi and bam back to basics saas bahu. Then that seperation epi came and god, I was blown. I swear never to judge a show based on caps😆 That forum is nasty, people are like FL is a s**t and liar who ruined another lives. The way I see it it was nobody's fault. And who are we to dictate how a person behaves during traumatizing situation? But I admire the way she stood firm in her decision regarding her lover. And that man is exactly sort of man Every girl waits for her whole life, whom we want. Someone who respects us, points out our follies and gently coax us to be the best version of ourselves. She was so naive, and love has given so much. That should be a man every girl should get.

I'm shocked that same PH made this shit. They talk about women empowerment and some viewers mock them but here to they went one step further. Reality lol. I want to meet a Sasuma who's like Ishwari. Or maybe there's. Like those old shows where Sasuma used to bitch behind DIL, killed her just for her son's happiness as per her requirements. Most infuriating part is here cause of Supriyaji we want to sympathize with Ishwari. At times she comes across as someone who honestly don't know what mistake she's doing. It's easy to think she's falling victim of GKB and Vicky. But then she does something which no Mother will do. Ex that whole shimla trip, ugh so disgusting😵 prior that the whole Mera beta alag ho gaya, usne kisi aur ko chun Lia. Is it cause Moms never prepare themselves to share their son with another girl in future? Is this the reason DILs face so much problem initially, sometimes they never settle at all? My mom and grandma can't see eye to eye. She was so busy in her mera beta jaap that conveniently forgot that another person is attached to him now, even after 25+ years of marriage. How these mentalities change for both sides? When MILs stop seeing their bahus as khilona like Ishwari said and saw an actual person?

Guess here's where the show failed me. I expected to see these in show cause I was curious about my mom's life. It didn't show, but scared me for life about people like dev and Ishwari and GKB.

@lmao at dev blaming his Casanova avatar on Sona🤣 but won't be surprised if that happens. Yesterday Sona was yelling that it's his fault, from his face I thought he was actually getting it, but nope he was back to victimization. How he become businessman cause business mean Manning up and take charge, something he fails. Or maybe the frustration made him that.

@ Avengers - Even ML.Mom character is such a cool mom.She is like freind.Have fun with her Son N DIL in the Phase 1 episodes. That trio bond was such a refreshing thing to see.Whole family.Except FL Dad.They all love to tease the couple.Have fun.Couple in front of them say I love u n have fun.Good to see SP gave this PH permission to show this kind of show. Also create diff ML N FL.

That's why I stay away from that forum. For reel characters.I don't want to fight with Real people.

KRPKAB had huge potential.I said if it came in SP.It would have been destroyed more. But after seeing JNDSD.I wish KRPKAB also came on SP.We could have got diff story line.

At least Sona characterization after leap is good. But Dev character is such a degradation.I am sure Dev will become freind with the kid.Use her to get close to Sona. Then there will be tashan scenes of Dev N Sona.May be some manhandling.Later they will unite.

However, he turns into a casanova, which means he still doesn't have an iota of regret that how wrong he did to Sona 😕. Just because he was wronged in an incident (and throughout life), that doesn't give free license to anyone to torture someone else and then not feeling sorry about it later.

So I anticipate/predict that there is a great chance we would never see Dev actually going through redemption/realizing his mistakes. He is going to dump all accusations on his mother instead and play the victim card now. Boohoo. Again he would throw tantrums on Sona for not 'understanding' how painful it was for him to become a casanova. 😭 The attitude and false pride is still not gone.

I wonder if the show will end like this only. 🤔

Exactly, I am also thinking the same about Dev.

Plus even Ishwari going my y'day's episode[How Sona can leave her son??] she will be still thinking that Sona is not right match for her beloved son and her decision or mission to keep Sona away from Dev is right.😡
I think, even she will not regret for her mistakes of hurting Sona, she will be in her land that she is always right, even if Dev distances himself from her that blame also goes to Sona asusual.😡
She may be just worried that her son distanced himself from her, but won't feel guilt of her act towards Sona.

I just can pity at Sona, all her true efforts to mend with her husband family, her true love gone in vain, no one including Dev neither understood her nor her pain and even after 7yrs of leap also Sona will be left with the same acquisitions and blames. *sigh*

Nice post Tia, asusual..

Unfortunately Sona was always ready to settle with less w.r.to Dev and his love towards her, that's her biggest weak point.

Now about this leap and daughter, i have no expectations, let the CVs show whatever they want.
I guess they can't show something worst or crap as they shown in infertility track especially w.r.to Sona's character.

But, at the same time what troubles me the most is Sona's failure in making her marriage work.
I didn't expect her to be doormat but i really wished her to understand that Dev or his family is not worth of her love, want her to realize the double standards of Ishwari and her cunning agenda hidden behind her innocent face... I wished her to stand up for herself and show the real face of Ishwari in the name of insecurities.. atleast i wished her to walk out of Dixit house with heads held high, but no she is literally thrown out of the house.

The worst part is Sona feels sad to leave the house, means she is still in that blind love towards her husband, who is doing nothing expect to repeat his mistakes.
All her efforts to mend her relationship, her patience and insults infront t of GKB,Vicky and Neha went useless. Her understanding, her forgiving nature holds no value.. her true love, her trust on love everything gone for toss and finally all the accusation and blames she holds now will remain even after the leap also na??

Is this the prize one should get afterall to be truthful and really in love with a person?? Every damn thing she did and undergone gone waste, when selfish person like Vicky and Elena having upper hand and enjoying their life, but someone like Sona suffering..

Don't you know that everything Dev and Ishwari do is someone else's fault. They only accept credit, not blames. After all they always do bad things for someone else's good. If they happen to benefit for it, that's just coincidence... That's the Dixit way, darling...

Ok last post for the day..I just read something in this forum and laughed so hard.

Sonakshi true love is Easwari and that is why the marriage broke. Hmmm does that mean it was all along a love triangle ? Sona loved Easwari. Dev loved Easwari , Easwari loved Dev so Sina got mad and pushed Dev and walked out...🤣

Yep, if nothing else, this show has opened many people's eyes about love and self-respect. Some people still haven't seen the light but that's because they'd rather be like Ishwari when it comes to Dev and stick their head under the sand. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Everyone has a lesson or two to learn from their situations.. And The Dixits' never learnt anything much from their past and in their present as well. So can't bother much on whether they are learning or not..

Yes, Sonakshi and Boses' have a fair to live life beautifully.. Because they cherish their experiences and appreciate simple facts and realities of life.. To live through it and move on.. And yes, they should not falter from learning their good lessons from this situation as well. And make it good for themselves and keep it all about themselves without bothering the others.. They really need to move on from The Dixits' cover..
