When his mother said no, he threw out Sona and in spite of her pleading didn't relent.

Now his mother said yes and he went to Sona as if her and her family haven't faced any insult or pain due to his.

Sona was absolutely right to refuse him. She is not a toy to pick or discard at his mother's whim. If he wants to dance to his mummy's tune, he should not expect a life partner to put up with this.

She never fought to be Dev's choice, she stepped back the minute Dev slammed her, and that was the right thing to do. CVs never delved into Sona's character. she was all logical about moving on having a soft corner for Dev and running behind him, getting all emotional and teary, and now suddenyl when eveything is well between Dev and his mother, she is back to being all self respecting.

I would have called her a bengali tigress if she would have said all this speech in the office when Dev was lying thier drunk. or when he was mumbling "wo ritik ne tumhian anghoti pehnayi mujh se dekha ani gaya and all" ..

Her speech was hollow.

But lets agree to disagree
No issues 😊

Haha same here, i mean they just ruined every single thing in their obsession of creating a high voltage drama. They ruined the USP of the show .. the simplicity, the real mature emotions. now with the marriage and stuff .. its just a regular show.

How i would have loved if Sona and Dev collectively tried to remove Ishwari's insecurity, dealt it like mature people and tried for thier relationship .. ahh sigh! ..

I felt when she said that Dev will never pick her against his mother's wishes, although something she understood, wasn't something she was willing to live with.

Often we understand someone else's point of view and think that's how they are. But it doesn't mean we can live with that on a day to day basis.

So the fact that after creating such a havoc in her and her family's life, Dev's reaction is "My mummy said yes, so everything is fine" was extremely insulting to Sona and her family's pain and insult.

If am not wrong, she even mentioned that she knows he can't agree cos 'maa' khush nahi hai and this way they can never be happy without her consent so its best for them to move on..Correct me if am wrong but this only means she got his point of view and understood that they can never marry without his mom agreeing so its best they separate..I din't see her saying that you wont take a stand for me so its best we separate (and frankly that was the actual response required in that scene)..That should have been her dialogue back then to justify her stand today..But then, am not even going to fault any character here..The writers felt it was okay to make Sonakshi say all that cos they knew nothing was going to come out of it at that point..But now they conveniently inserted it here because now the other two characters are ready for it 😆 No offense..Sonakshi was bang on today..At this point, i don't really care for any character on this show because of how much the writers have managed to butcher them but i couldn't help but point out how everything the writers seem to be doing these days is bring in drama and more drama..Today's scene was great as a standalone..Unfortunately, a lot of reactions (almost every character) were jarring when you keep in mind the previous episodes..And the CVs seem to have this weird obsession with speeding up everything that is remotely crucial on the show..Confession, revelation to the family, their reactions, Ishwari's insecurity, break up, third angle, engagement, acceptance-everything..With zilch introspection or healing time..And i can bet on the fact that these two will probably patch up within a week (or 2 weeks max) without really resolving any issue properly..I don't get why the writers have been in such a rush but it has only resulting in ruining every single character on the show..

But that's exactly what I am trying to say. Either someone loves you or not. No self-respect woman will fight for her love.

This is not typical hindi soap where the husband dumps his wife and starts to live with another woman and the wife fights to get her husband back.

If someone doesn't love you, set him free. No point chasing after a lost cause and until today Dev was a lost cause.

That's what I wanted as well. I wanted Dev to ask Sona to help him to fix Ishwari's insecurity. But that didn't happen.

Well, if you want to call a spade a spade then why not call Dev a mummy's boy and spineless puppet?

Sona has always been on her limit. When she agreed on Dev's insistence to invite him to her engagement, I blamed her.

When you say that she didn't accept her faults, did you see when she was willing to take all blame on her head for running to Dev and for causing pain to both Ritwik, his family and her family and listen to their scold and insult with her head down? She didn't blame anyone else then.

But Dev did try to break up her engagement, that's a truth.

He did stalk her after breaking up, that's truth.

He did get drunk at her engagement even after promising her that he will forget her as a last promise and move on.

So should we both agree to call him a lier and a deceiver as well?

Or is honesty doesn't apply to heroes?

The tone of the message doesn't give me a positive vibe and makes me feel there is no scope for healthy discussion .I guess you should have put a disclaimer that only people with similar thoughts are allowed to post in your thread .

Just because someone can relate more to the male character doesn't make them a fan girl . People blindly supporting the female lead are not the mature ones either .The moment I read doesn't apply to heros's line I realised it was more of personal attack and I better not waste my time replying to you when one is not ready to see other side of the coin.

That is my point too! That she left him .. good enough .. i said it was the right thing to do. But u said she wanted to be Dev's choice? where did she wanted to be Dev's choice and not his mothers'? This NEVER happened .. she left when Dev kicked her out .. GOOD! but and then instead of leaving what was that with placing his head in her lap (God i HATED that scene) running away from the engagement behind your drunk ex? Leaving your family embarrassed? Is that what a self respecting woman would do? and then when ur ex comes pleading you come back with a self respecting speech?

I think she said she is prepared to marry him but maa will never be happy so in turn they can never be happy so its best to move on..IMO, it was very convenient of the writers to insert it at that point..Cos it meant Sonakshi was still very much in love with Dev and she was still ready to get back but she knows his mom will never be happy with it so she has made peace with destiny..And Ishwari was blind at that point so it went well with the scenario..Now that Ishwari had relented, it was again very convenient for the writers to make Sona talk about Dev's inability to take a stand..When IMO, they should have made Sonakshi say it at that point in that scene..When Dev kept quite after her proposal..That he is not ready to take a stand and this will never work out so lets just get the hell out of each other's lives..But the writers just wanted to make it angsty..Make it look like both were too much in love and both were ready to get back if not for mommy and her issues..And now they made her take an about turn once his mom agreed..I only see lazy writing and character inconsistency here tbh..The writers just seem to conveniently do everything which brings in more drama and 'angst'..And they give a damn about character consistency or character butchering in the process..I guess we can agree to disagree :)

It's quite obvious you don't read my post or you will see how many people I like and comment who disagree with me. But healthy discussion means you should be willing to accept both side of the argument.

Nowhere in my post did call you a fan girl, you did.

I have written posts criticising both characters. But I write post on honesty and equality regardless whether I am talking about a man or a woman.

You were willing to call a spade a spade, then why did it offend you when I called Dev exactly how we'd call any man behaving like that in society?

If you are not willing to listen cold hard facts about the hero, then you are right. May be my posts are not suitable for you. Good luck.

What Sona did was obviously wrong. And if you read my post Satta (Link below) you would know that I blamed her for her behaviour.

Link: http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4714278

But today she was right. Not once Dev tried to find out what is her family is going through. How she is feeling. His reaction: Mummy said yes, let's get back together again.

Sona asked the right question today. So what happens if mummy doesn't want her? Will she get kicked out again?

Who in their right minds would rely on someone who dances on someone else's tune?
