Chapter1
"Mere Khawbe me jo aye.. Heer's singing got interrupted when she heard the comments from Geet and Meher.
"Kaun aapki khawab me aa rahe Heer didi? Meher asked her elder sister naughtily.
"Are aur kaun hoga , hamahare hone wala jiju Harman ji. Dekhona unka naam sunthe hi hamare didi kaise sharma rahi hain. Harman ji ko lekar khawabi polao bana rahi hain. Before Heer could reply Meher's question Geet teased Heer by doing that remark.
"Tum dono bahaut hi badmash and besharam ban gayi ho. Main to aisi ga rahi thi, tum logo ko to pata hain singing meri passion hain aur DDLJ meri favourite movie iss liye main o ganna ga rahi thi. Heer tried to reply strongly, however her sister and cousin sister did not seem to be impressed by Heer's answer.
"Aacha aab aap baat ko gumhana chati hain. Thick hain main aab directly poochti ho kya khayal hai n aapki dil main hamari hone wale jiju ko lekar? Geet asked Heer.
"Main aabhi bhi nahi janti ho ki unke bare main mujhe kya soachna chahie.Wo hamare second cousin hain aur hum to bas bachpan main mile the aur uss waqt wo hamare saat jayda waqt nahi bita tha. Main suna unhone Lalit uncle ka business join kiya. Bauji bahut kush the jab Gayetri bua ne meri aur Harmanji ki shadi ki prastab rakhi. Bauji ne kaha mere liye unka chachare behen se zyda koi accha sasural nahi ho sakti, to main ha kardi. Heer told them.
"Ha didi mujhe yaad hain, main bass saat saal kit hi jab Harmanji aur unka pariwar hamari yaha aya tha. Wo to bass ekele ekele rehete te. Lekin ha mujhe yaad hain hum dono ki saat Prem bhaiya jo Sipra bua ki beta hain aacha jam tha. Wo thoda introvert tha hum dono ki tarah par hamara aachi jam thi .
Heer didi main bhi maan ti ho bade Papa ka baat aapke liye Gayetri bua se zyda aacha saas koi hoin nahi sakta. Wo aapko sirf bahu kin ajar se nahi aapni beti kin ajar se dekhengi . Aur rahi baat Harman jiju ko janne ki wo to aap unke saat ghar ghar karte karte jann hi lengi. Wo Lalit uncle aur Gayetri bua ki beta hain, aacha insaan hi hoga. Aap unko law ka baatna aur wo aapko business ka baat batyenge. Aur aap ka to experetise corporate law main hain. Kya bata wo aapko aapna company ka legal advisor ki jayge pe rakhle aapko hamesha aapne akho ke saamne rakhne ke liye.
Geet told her opinion to Heer. She knew her Heer didi was very tensed regarding her marriage. Geet was trying to ease the nerve of Heer by assuring her. She was just hoping best for her Heer didi as she deserved the best. She was also hoping that ,Harman would be a decent person who would never hurt Heer.
"Geet main kisi bhi company ki legal advisor bonne ki kaabil abhi bhi nahi hu. Main to bas apni career sharu ki hain. Main aapne khud ki pechan khud bana chahti ho, kisi ki sahare lekar main kabhi bhi aani career main aage barna nahi cahathi hu. Heer always was a strong believer of self-reliance and she again uttered those values in front of Geet and Meher.
" Aacha hum log baad main bhi baat kar sakti hain lekin aab hume dining room me chalna chahiye hain kynki maa hum sabko bula rahi hain. Meher informed them .
"Chalo dining room pe, warna maa gussa karengi. Heer urged them to go into the dining room.
When they reached in dining room, they saw everyone was already sitting on there.
Heer, Meher and Geet took their sit and started to eat quietly.
Suddenly Balraj spoke-
" Balwant tujhe jo main ek shipment ka transportation ka intajam karne ko kaha waska kya hua? Balraj asked his younger brother.
"Wo to main kar diya bhaiya aur wo bhi sirf do lakh ruphio me. Balwant happily replied to his brother. He seemed to be very pleased with himself.
"Kya! Der lakh ka kaam tune do lakh main ki. Chota sa ek kaam diya tha tujhe wo bhi dang se nahi kar paya aur 50000 ki lokshan kara di. Balraj was clearly irritated by her brother's action.
"Mujhe kya pata tha bhaiya ki wo Surindar mujhe itna bada chona laga dega, main aaj hi khabar leta ho uska. Balwant was clearly shocked to realize that, he got himself conned by local transporting agent.
"Baas jo hogya, so hogya, galti mera hain jo tujhe iss kam saupa tha, tujhe Surindar ka waha jane ki koi jarurat nahi , khana khane ki baat tu tv dekh tera favourite programme ata hi hoga. Surindar ka waha main khud jaunga. Balraj was cursing himself for giving responsibility to his good for nothing beother. He did not wanted to involve Balwant anymore in his business activities. Suddenly a dish got his attention.
"Teji, ye kaunsa dish hain? Balraj asked his wife.
" Jetji ye gajar ka halwa hain. Before Teji could say something Daljeet gave the reply to her brother in law.
"Ye gajar ka halwa. Balraj was stunned after hearing the reply from his sister in law. That dish was not looking anything like gajar ka halwa.
"Ha jetji ye gajar ka halwa hain, lekin iss main wo kya kehete hain main kutch verities dali hain.
Daljeet was trying to remove his confusion but she only managed to terrify him.
"Jaise? Balraj asked in a terrified voice as he was suspecting something was wrong with that dish.
" Jaise ki mirtch masala, lembu ka paani. Daljeet was very happy to infrom her brother in law about her verities as she believed it would bring a revolution in that dish. Nevertheless, she was only able to manage to bring horror in the face of every family member.
"Bahaut accha. Nihal beta tu jaldi mere saat chal mujhe abhi uss Surindar ka office main jana hain. Balraj quickly excused himself from eating that horrible dish. Nihal also left with his father soon as he did not had any desire to get food poisoned.
Soon every family member remembered something very important and left the dining table.
"Kisi ko meri cooking ko kadar hi nahin hain. Main bhi dekhanungi wo sab ko aagli master chef of india ka winner ban ke. Daljeet told herself.
In Ludhiana airport:
Two young man just recently arrived there from Delhi . Before that, they travelled from Canada to Delhi. They were obviously very tired. Those two young man were, yes you guessed it right. They were Prem and Preet.
"Bhaiya mujhe bahut neend aara raha hain. Preet complained to Prem.
" To main kya karun mera bhi to wohi haal. Ek baar Balraj mamu ke ghar pe pauchle uske baad so jana. Prem was irritated by Preet's antics.
Among the Junejas Prem and Preet were first to come in India. The rest of the Juneja clan will arrive three days later. Elder son of the Juneja clan Mr. Harman Juneja was going to be married with their second cousin Heer. Preet was 4.5 years old when they last came to India. Therefore, he did not remember anything. However, Prem was 8 years old and because of that, he remembered their last visit to india. He could remember that, he had a good bonding with Heer and Geet and to some lesser degree with Nihal.
Prem was happy, when he learned that, his Harman bhaiya would marry his Balraj uncle's older daughter. He heard , Heer was practicing law in Ludhiana court. He thought, Heer could be a very good match for his elder first cousin.
His badi maa wanted to help her Balraj bhaiya in wedding preparation; therefore, she sent Prem and Preet to help her brother in that preparation. Prem was also very happy for getting a chance to meet his Balraj mama. They talked regularly with each other but Prem wanted to see his beloved uncle face to face.
Preet on the other hand was very excited to visit their ancestral home after so many years. In his mind it would be whole new adventure for him. He was also happy that, his khadoss Harman bhaiya was finally settling down in his life. He hoped that, his going to be sister in law would make his brother to laugh more.
Soon they found a taxi and left for their Balraj uncle's house. Preet was taking pictures of outside when he saw dhaba.
"Prem bhaiya texi roko hum ya se kutch kha lete hain. Preet suggested.
" Preet hum uncle pe ah jake kha lenge na. Prem told Preet.
"Ha lekin waha pauch te pauchte aur 30 minutes lage ga aur mujhe bhookh nahi sahen ho raha hain. Preet made a sad face after saying that.
"Accha chal jake kutch kha lete hain. Preem finally agreed to Preet's proposal.
They went to that dhaba and they were enjoying their meal, although foods were little spicy according to Preet but overall, they liked the food. Suddenly Prem saw police were picking up a middle aged man, the arrested man was looking somewhat drunk.
Prem had a feeling that he saw that man before, but could not recollect it properly.
"Bhaiya aap waha par kya dekh raha hain. Preet suddenly noticed his Prem bhaiya was observing something.
"Wo aadmi jisko police arrest kar raha hain, mujhe laga main unko kohi dekha hain. Prem told Preet.
" Bhaiya ye kaise possible hain. Hum to itne saal baad ya par aye hain, aapka koi bharam hoga. Preet remarked.
"Shayed tu thiki kahe raha ye Preet . Prem accepted Preet's explanation.
After completing their meals they again left for their destination. After 30 minutes, they were feeling that they reached at their destination as they saw a large house.
In their mind they praise the house , it was beautiful it is large not too large and it also brought some childhood memories for Prem.
On the other side, Teji observed two young men outside of their house, she looked closely, and then she recognized them. Gayetri already sent photos of Prem and Preet via facebook messanger and called her to inform them that, Prem and Preet will arrive early. She quickly went to infrom her whole family that Prem and Preet had arrived.
Balraj was very happy to see them. He always loved Gayetri and Sipra as his own sister and he shared a good bond with Prem.
Heer felt somewhat strange after seeing her old childhood companion. In her mind both Prem and Preet were looking good and clean.
Geet was feeling elastic to see them; she hoped that, she would again able to make a good rapport with Prem. She was also curious to know Preet.
Nihal was just happy to see his second cousins. He was hoping to get some tips about business management from Prem. He was also happy to see Preet, but he realized that, Preet was more like Meher type. Spirited, extrovert and want to enjoy life.
As for Daljeet she was greedily looking at Junejas. She found both of them very handsome; she was already trapping how to trap at least one or both of the young men into marrying her daughters. Junejas were super rich. If she could trap one of the boys then, she would become richer.
"Haye kitna sona lag raha dono ladke, dono ek se badkar ek, dono kitna wo kya kheta hain ha kitna hot lag raha hain jinse aur tee sahirt pe. Daljeet commented.
Her comments made rest of the family except Ashlesha uncomfortable.
" Maa kutch to sharam ki je, ye dono bauji ki chachare behen ka bete hain, ek hishab se aap ka bhanje hain ye dono aur hamara second cousin hain aur aap ye dono ki bade main aise baat kar rahi hain, agar wo dono ye sun liya to wo aapke bare main kya sochegi. Geet scold her mother for that remark.
"Aap bina Geet di kitna old fashion hain, mum to saach kaira hain , wo dono to lag raha hain hot and sexy , aur rahi baat un dono ki hamari second cousin hone ki to ye to accha hain hum apne family member ki tariff kar rahi hain, Junejas to hamari extended family ki part hain the great Maan and Juneja family aur in family everyone should praise each other. Ashlesha replied on behalf of her mother. She able to increase the embarrassment level for the whole family. Geet finally conceded that her mother and sister would not change their behavior.
Prem and Preet saw numerous people came at the gate of the house. Prem quickly recognize his Balraj mama and Teji mama.
He and Preet quickly came forward and touched Balraj and Teji's feet.
"Jeete raho beta, kitna bade hogaye tum dono, Lallu , Gayetri aur ghar ki baaki sab kaise hain. Balraj asked them.
"Ghar me sab acche hain. Aap bataye aaplog kaise hain. Prem asked them.
"Hum bhi acche hain beta. Teji replied.
Prem and Preet then move to touch the feet of Daljeet . Daljeet stopped them.
"Jite raho beta, wah kitna sone lagde hain tum dono. After saying that, Daljeet pressed the checks of Prem and Preet and made them both uncomfortable.
After that, Heer, Geet, Nihal and Meher came forward and greet them one by one.
"Ye Balwant kaha kho gaya hain. Balraj noticed that his younger brother is missing freom family gathering.
"Jetji , wo to bahar gaye hain car leke apne dosto se milne kutch do ghonte hoye.Aap chinta maat kije. Daljeet assured him.
After that, the whole Maan family welcomed Prem and Preet in their house. Teji took an aarti of Prem and Preet.
Prem and Preet started to look inside the house. It was a nice house in inside also. Suddenly their attention fell to big family picture of Maan family. But their attention got stucked at one corner of the photo.
"Mamaji ye kaun hai? A curious Preet asked Balraj.
"Aare ye mere chote bhai hain, tum dono ka Balwant mama. Balrtaj told them
After hearing that, Prem and Preet got shocked as they recognize the man, it was the same man they saw whom police arrested. Their Balwant mama was arrested and he was drunk at that time.
