Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: Smriti Irani, Ekta Kapoor take fans down memory lane; say, 'TRPs...'

Ekta Kapoor and Smriti Irani did an Insta live with fans of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi before the first episode of the new season went on air. Ekta Kapoor was asked about her favourite moments. She said one of them was when Baa (Late Sudha Shivpuri) went to Paris Fashion Week showcasing her heritage through her designs. She said it was a message that age is not a limitation for dreams, and even old people could lead productive lives. The second one was when Tulsi decides to kill her son Ansh (Akashdeep Saigal) for sexually assaulting his wife. It was a case of marital rape, and Tulsi took a stand for her bahu. Ekta Kapoor said that it was one of the most moving episodes for her in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season one.

Smriti Irani said that the character of Tulsi taught her a lot in life. She said no matter what was the situation, Tulsi always saw people with empathy and a sense of justice. This helped her even in her political career. The politician and actress said that actors those days did not bother about TRPs. Their only aim was to make Ekta Kapoor happy, and bring forth her emotions and vision for the show.

Ekta Kapoor said a large part of the credit should go to writers Rajesh Joshi, Raju Halsagi, Anil Nagpal and others. This OG team worked with Ekta Kapoor on many shows. The TV diva also said that Star Plus for her is like her Karma Bhoomi. Smriti Irani said Amar Upadhyaya has a great sense of humour, and there was never a dull moment on set. Both of them agreed that Baa will be missed the most. She was the emotional core of the show.

Ekta Kapoor said she associates Tulsi Maa with shuddi (purity).
