Preet soon returned home. Meher noticed that he was not in a very nice mood. Due to the dinner arranged at home, she didn't get a chance to talk with him. However, he changed his mood as soon as the Manav's family arrived.
After the dinner, they were all chatting in the living room. The wedding date was decided to be after a month. Both families rejoiced at this occasion. Everyone was busy feeding each other mithai when Preet noticed that Gungun was missing. He went to her room to find her but she was not there. He knew where she would be. He made his way to the terrace. He found her sitting at a corner behind all the plants, looking at the sky. This was his daughter's favourite place. She always came here when she was distressed or wanted to be alone. He could tell from her face that she was worried. He sat down beside her.
Preet: Gungun, kya hua?
Gungun(looks at Preet and then looks back at the sky): kuch nahi Papa.
Preet: Tum meri beti ho aur mujhe pata hai tumhe koi baat parayshaan ker rahi hai. batao kya hua.
Gungun: woh Papa…(she looked at Preet with tears in her eyes)
Preet (he hugged her): aray kya hua? roo kyun rahi ho? batao mujhe
Gungun (wiping her tears): Papa mujhe darr lag raha hai.
Preet: kis cheez ka darr?
Gungun: Papa, Manav mujhse kitna alag hai. Woh kitna quiet shy and responsible hai aur main bilkul uski opposite. Agar main usay pasand nahi aayi to? agar main us ke parents ko pasand nahi aayi to? agar Manav mujhe pasand nahi aya to? I mean what if we dont get along! aur hum dono to aik dusre se pyar bhi nahi kerte.
Preet: Gungun, tum darro mat. tumhe Manav acha insaan lagta hai na?
Gungun: Ji
Preet: Uska dil bauhat acha hai. Haan woh thoda..well, bauhat quiet and shy hai magar woh acha to hai na. He will open up to u after marriage, dont worry. U know na how much me and ur mama love u?
Gungun: yes…
Preet: to phir hum kabhi tumhe kisi galat insaan ke paas bhejaingay?
Gungun: Kabhi nahi
Preet: to phir! aur jaanti ho meri aur Meher ki shaadi jab hui tab hum aik dusre se pyar nahi kerte the.
Gungun: dont lie! u guys love each other soo much!! u both r the most perfect jodi i hav ever seen!
Preet(smiles): haan ab hum aik dusre se bauhat pyar kerte hain magar jab shaadi hui thi tab nahi kerte the. we were only best friends. Jaise tum aur Manav ho waise hi hum dono the. Aur pata hai, Meher thodi Manav jaisi thi. Woh bauhat responsible, shy, and quiet type thi. Main bauhat hi ziada irresponsible tha. Jab Meher meri zindagi main aayi to meri zindagi badal gayi. Aj main jo hun sirf uski wajah se hun. Meher ne hamesha mera saath dia aur mujhe pyar dia. Jab mere bauji ne bhi mujh par bharosa nahi kia tab Meher ne mujh par bharosa kia tha. Sach kahoon to mera apne app par se vishwaas uth gaya tha magar Meher gave me confidence and strength to fight the world. How cud I not fall in love with such a wonderful and beautiful woman? She made me whatever I m today and she gave me such wonderful children. (he hugged Gungun again) Manav bauhat acha insaan hai aur tum dono ko aik dusre se pyar ho jayega shaadi ke baad.
Gungun: u r right Papa! I love u so much! I dont know how I m going to live without all of u (she hugged Preet)
Preet: U will b able to live without us when u wont b able to live without Manav!
Sapna and Khushi interrupted the father daughter moment. Preet and Gungun got up and went towards them. Manav was behind them too.
Sapna: Di, dekhein app se milne kaun aya hai? (she winked at Gungun who looked at Manav and smiled. Manav was rather turning red)
Preet(he went towards Manav and talked with him in a serious tone): tum meri beti ko tung kerte ho?
Manav(scared): nahi to…woh…kya hua?
Preet: kya hua??!! tum usay bauhat rulatay ho.aur yahan kyun ayay ho?(Preet raised his eyebrow)
Manav: woh..woh..main Gungun se thodi..baat kerna chah raha tha…agar app ki permission ho to.
Preet: hmm.baat.baat ya aur kuch bhi?
Manav: Nahi! sirf baat..
Khushi (giggling): Dekho Jiju kitna darr gayay hain!
Preet(he smiled which relieved Manav a bit): Theek hai baat kerlo. aur haan meri beti ko rulaya na to mujhse bura koi nahi hoga!
Manav(smiled): Main Gungun ko kabhi nahi rulaunga Papa.
Preet hugged Manav lightly and dragged his other two daughters inside while they ranted about staying with Gungun as they wanted to hear what Manav Jiju says.
Manav left with his family after a while. The house was very quiet as everyone went to sleep after a tiring day. Preet was still in the living room waiting for someone.
Preet got up when Arjun entered the house. Arjun was Maya and Harman's only son. Arjun stopped in his tracks as he saw Preet.
Arjun: Chachu, app ab tak sooyay nahi?
Preet(talking very coldly): Nahi. kahan se aa rahay ho?
Arjun: woh main group ke saath parhai kerne gaya tha.
Preet: Kahan?
Arjun (nervous): woh..Rahul ke ghar.
Preet(talking loudly in anger): Rahul road par rehta hai!
Arjun(scared): app kya keh rahay hai Chachu?
Preet: Main kya keh raha hun tum achi tarah jaantay ho! Tum parhai kerne gayay the ya apne doston ke saath ayyashi kerne!
Meher and Harman came in the living room too as they heard loud noises.
Harman: Preet, Arjun, kaisa shor hai yeh?
Preet: Mujhse kya pooch rahay hain bhai. Arjun se poochain woh kahan se aa raha hai.
Harman: Arjun, kya hua?
Arjun: woh dad…
Preet: Main batata hun kya hua. Yeh parhai ka jhoot bol ker apne friends ke saath mazay ker raha tha.
Harman: to kya hua Preet agar thodi dair usne masti kerli. He is just a kid. Chill!
Preet: Nahi bhai. masti kerne main koi problem nahi magar yeh road par apne doston ke saath smoke aur drink ker raha tha!
Harman: kya yeh sach hai Arjun?
Arjun: dad
Preet: Maine apni aankhon se dekha hai! Arjun aainda agar tumne yeh sab harkatain kari to mujhse bura koi nahi hoga!
Harman: Bas Preet! Bauhat daant lia tumne Arjun ko. Arjun mera beta hai aur main usay samjha dunga.
Preet: Bhai, Arjun aur Aman mere liye betay hain. How can u say something like that..Kal ko agar Aman ya Khushi ya Gungun ya Sapna kuch ghalat kerte hain to app ko poora haq hai app unhe samjhayay.
Harman: Preet, please, this is our personal matter.
Saying this, Harman left with Arjun towards his room. Preet stood in his place as the words 'Arjun mera beta hai' rang in his head.
Meher saw his sadness and came closer to him. She made him sit on the sofa.
Meher: kya hua Preet?
Preet: Meher, Harman bhai aisa kaise soch sakte hain ke Arjun sirf unka beta hai. Woh mere liye bilkul Aman jaisa hai. I was just worried about him.
Meher: Preet, tum Harman ko jaantay ho na. I know tum parayshaan the magar Harman aur Maya Arjun ke parents hai aur woh kabhi uska bura nahi chahenge. unhe sab pata hai na to woh Arjun ko samjha dainge. aur phir bhai aur betay ki baat ka kya bura manna.
Preet: u r right Meher.
Meher: Now give me ur cute smile (Preet smiled and Meher gave him a light kiss on his cheeks)
Preet (hugging Meher): I love u so much Meher.
Meher(hugging Preet tighter): I love u too Preet.
They hugged each other for five minutes. They were soon interupted by someone. They quickly broke the hug remembering where they were. They were shocked to see all their kids standing in front of them. Meher and Preet both stood up and lowered their heads like little kids who were caught by their mom eating too much candy.
They all moved aside and Arjun came to front. Preet was shocked to see him again. Arjun came closer to Preet.
Arjun: I m sorry Chachu.I know I was wrong.
Preet (he hugged Arjun): Its ok. Main bhi kuch ziada ghussa ker gaya tha. I just care too much about u. aur tumne wapis aisi harkat kari to phir daant khaogay!
Aman: yeh kya Papa, no hug for us?
Preet(he went towards all his kids and hugged all of them): I love u all!
All the kids: we love u too!
Meher(Sad): mujhe akela chod diya?!
Preet(he broke the group hug and went towards Meher): Meri jaan ke liye to special hug hai! (he hugged her tightly in front of all the kids)
Meher(she turned red like a tomato): Preet! kya ker rahay ho bachay dekh rahay hain!
Preet(whispered): aray thoda romance to chalta hai bachon k saamne!
Meher (whispered): tum nahi sudhrogay!
Preet(he lightly kissed her neck): Kabhi nahi.
They all smiled looking at the loving couple. There was so much love between Meher and Preet which was always visible. They were truly made for each other.
