PART 19Preet looked at the doctor with immense worry. He waited for the doctor to give him more information. Prem also came and stood beside Prem.
Doctor(smiles): Congratulations! App ka beta hua hai (Prem quickly grabbed into a hug. Preet hugged him and returned to the doctor)
Preet(smiles): Thanks doctor. aur Meher kaisi hai?
Doctor: Woh bilkul theek hai dont worry.
Preet(smiling widely now): Thank you so much doctor. Woh..woh main Meher aur hamare betay se mil sakta hun?
Doctor: app unse thori dair main mil sakte hain.
Saying this the doctor left. Preet and Prem waited outside the room. A nurse came and told Preet that he could meet his wife now. Preet excitedly walked towards the room.
Preet entered the room and saw Meher lying on the bed with a baby crib beside her bed. He saw her calm face. Her eyes were closed. She was looking tired, but still very beautiful. He looked at the crib beside the bed. Their son must be there he thought. He smiled. He walked up to the bed and stood beside the crib. He could see the baby boy clearly now. He was very small. He reminded him of the time Gungun was born. She was a very little chubby baby. This boy was a little slimmer and smaller, just like Preet. They now had another angel in their lives. Preet extended his hand and slowly ran his finger along his son's cheek. He was soft like Meher. He didnt want to wake up so he moved his hand away.
Preet looked at Meher and went close to her. He kissed her forehead lightly. This gesture woke Meher up. She opened her eyes slowly. Preet looked at her big beautiful brown eyes. The were gleaming with happiness. He smiled at her and she smiled back. He saw a tear flowing from the corner of her eye and disappearing into her hair. He knew these were tears of joy. He could feel the same joy inside him. This baby was another proof of their love. He slowly laid his lips on top of her soft rosy lips. He kissed her softly. He whispered I love you in Meher's ear.
Meher looked at him and held his hand. She then looked at their child. He was the cutest just like Gungun and Preet. Preet saw Meher looking at the baby and knew that she wanted to hold him. He wanted the same. He went closer to his crib and picked him up in his arms carefully. Meher's eyes were glued to the baby. She saw him shifting into Preet's arms.
Preet carefully sat beside Meher on the bed. Meher sat up carefully. She looked at her little boy and kissed his cheek lightly. Preet looked at Meher and then at the baby. He transferred the baby into Meher's arms.
Meher looked at their boy. She kept staring at him. Preet wrapped his arms around Meher from behind. He rested his chin on Meher's shoulder and stared at the baby.
After a few minutes, Meher felt wet on her shoulder. She looked at Preet and saw him crying.
Meher(looking at Preet): Preet tum roo kyun rahay ho itna?
Preet(whispered while looking at the baby): ssshhh. Meher, Aman uth jayega.
Meher(confused): Aman?
Preet(smiled): tumne hamaray betay ka name Aman rakhna tha na.
Meher smiled at Preet for remembering the name. She looked at Aman and ligthly kissed him again.
After a few hours, the whole family came to see the baby and Meher. They were all very happy for the new family member.
After 20 years…Meher was in the kitchen teaching Gungun how to cook. She heard a loud scream of Preet.
Preet: AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!
She ran out of the kitchen towards their room. She entered the room. She saw Preet in front of the dressing table. She went near him to enquire about the scream.
Meher: Preet, kya hua? tum itni zor se kyun chekhay?
Preet(holding his hair): Meher! dekho kya ho gaya! (he lowered his head towards Meher)
Meher(looking at Preet's hair confusingly): Preet kya hua?
Preet: Meher, white hair!
Meher(she looked closely and found a white hair): Preet, tum is ki wajah se itni zor se chillayay! dara dia tha tumne mujhe. aik hi to white hair hai.
Preet(looking at Meher in anger): aik hi?? Meher, tumhe to koi farq nahi parega na kyun ke tumhare to itnay saray white hair hai magar ab mere bhi…(Preet made a crying face and sat at the edge of the bed)
Meher(she sat beside Preet and put her hand on his shoulder): aray Preet tum itna kyun udaas ho rahay ho. tum white hair main bhi bauhat cute aur handsome lagogay (she pinched his cheek)
Preet looked at her sadly. Meher went closer to him and kissed his cheek. Preet smiled widely and hugged Meher. They were soon interrupted by Gungun.
Gungun(standing at the door of the room): ahem ahem! romance shomance!
Meher(breaking the hug and feeling shy): nahi..woh..
Gungun(she laughed at making her Mama feel embarrassed again. She moved her attention towards Preet): waisay Papa, app itni zor se chillayay kyun?
Preet(showing his head to Gungun): dekho Gungun, mera aik white hair.
Gungun (her eyes widened and she looked at his hair): Papaa! app meri shaadi main white hair le ker aayenge??(she sat beside Preet sadly)
Meher: oho Gungun, aik hi to hair hai aur tum itna overreact ker rahay ho!
Gungun: Mama app ko toi farq nahi parega na kyun ke app ke to itnay saray white hair hai(Meher and Preet looked at Gungun in shock. They were shocked to hear Gungun saying the exact words as Preet. This was another proof that this devil was Preet's daughter and exactly like him)
Soon Preet and Meher's other children also joined the trio to enquire about the screaming.
Aman: Papa app theek to hai?
Khushi: Papa, Gundi ne phir kuch kia kya? (Khushi, Preet and Meher's youngest daughter, looked at Gungun and narrowed her eyes)
Gungun(getting mad): tu ne mujhe phir gandi kaha!
Khushi: maine gandi nahi kaha. maine to Gun di kaha. (chuckling)
Gungun(getting up): main tujhe batati hun(she went towards khushi who was about to run away but Sapna, Khushi's twin, came in the way)
Sapna: aray app dono phir lar rahay ho. choro larayi ko. Papa, app ko kya hua tha?
Preet: Kuch nahi beta (smiling at his children) waisay tum log aj shopping kerne nahi jaa rahay the?
Sapna: jana tha Papa laikin didi khana pakanay chali gayi Mama ke saath. Woh aj jeeju aa rahay hai na (Sapna winked at Preet who laughed)
Gungun(Getting angry. she sat beside Preet again): Main us ke liye nahi bana rahi thi khana!
Preet: to humne kab kaha tum Manav ke liye khana bana rahi ho (they all laughed at this. Gungun felt embarrassed that all were teasing her)
Gungun: woh…woh… jao main app sab se baat nahi kerti!(showed everyone her tongue)
Preet(putting his arm around Gungun): Aray Gungun. tumhare itnay se din to bachay hai is ghar main aur us main bhi baat nahi karogi hum sab se? (he looked at her sadly)
Gungun(she looked at Preet and started crying. She immediately hugged him): Papa!
All the siblings and Meher joined the hug. Gungun was going to be married in a few days and they were all going to miss her very much. She was going to marry Manav.
Later in the evening, the house was busy in preparing for a dinner for Manav's family. Preet went to the mithai shop to get special mithai for the dinner and also get some of his favourite.
As he was returning from the shop, he was shocked to see someone. He stopped his car and watched for a while.
