I was thinking and I got an idea, if Bani starts going to the office (well Jai works in a office, right?) she will spend more time with him...Great idea...i will see what i could do 😉

Part 3

Bani managed to pull of being 5 minutes late and walked in to the restaurant in smiles… but her smile quickly turned to shock… this was nothing she had expected…

She couldn't believe it… her college friend Pia Dixit was seated right in front of her…They had met during the early years of college and clicked right away. But after college Pia had moved away for her further studies and both had lost contact…

"Pia!! Tum?!" shouted Bani, capturing everyone's attention in the restaurant.

Pia who was taking a sip out of her cup, spat it all back in shock…

"Bani! Oh my God!"

Bani ran towards Pia who now had stood up. Both embraced in a long hug.

"Pia, is it really you?! How have you been?!"

"Well I've been good. But wow you look just as beautiful. Are guys still dropping like flies after they see you..huh?!" laughed Pia, as both of them sat down.

"Quit it! But you have definitely grown up! What are you doing here in Paris?!"

"Well I could ask you the same question. Silly I'm here doing my graduate program. So tum batao.. what brings you to Paris?" asked Pia sipping her new ordered coffee.

" I'm here with my husband who's…."

Pia spat her coffee out again…. "WHAT! Your married?!!"

Bani realized that she had not invited Pia, but how could she, she never knew where Pia went after college.

" Well…. Kept me away from the wedding but at least introduce me to the guy!" winked Pia

" It's nothing like that Pia… I didn't know where you moved or how to contact you…"

Pia gestured an it's okay sign

"… as for my husband.. His name is Jai… and you know he should have been here by now"

Bani searched around the restaurant and no sign of Jai but as she turned towards the front, there running through the doors was Jai..

Jai searched around the restaurant and was drawn immediately by the Bani's wailing hand. Jai walked over to the table and laid a kiss on Bani's cheek not noticing that someone else was seated at the table…

"I'm sorry I'm late but…" Jai stopped as he finally noticed Pia…

"Hi, I'm Pia Dixit. Bani's college friend" she said as she stood to shake Jai's hand.

A confused Jai shook Pia's hand, but immediately looked at enlightened Bani.

"ummm… lunch? You and me?" questioned Jai…

" I'm sorry. Please Bani carry on with your lunch. I will catch up with you later"

" Oh no.. I didn't mean it like that… I'd love for you and Bani to catch up…"

" Don't be silly. I was just leaving…" Pia stood and again shook Jai's hand "… It was nice meeting you Jai"

"Same here"

Bani stood " wait wait wait… Pia we have met after so many years… please don't leave.. have lunch with us"

Jai turned to look at Bani hoping she would understand that he wanted a private lunch with his wife. After all they hardly spent time together. But Bani nudged him

"ummm… Yeah please have lunch with us" said Jai forcefully.

Pia laughed " No no…Thank you but really I must get going…Bani, it was great seeing you.." she hugged Bani and turned towards Jai " .. and once again.. nice meeting you"

Jai nodded his head. Pia paid her bill and left leaving her number with Bani. Still full of smiles, Bani found her and Jai a table in the back to have their lunch.

" Wow I can't believe that I just met Pia. I mean to find her in Paris… in our restaurant…Really it's a small world I tell you"

Jai sat down across from Bani. "Yep it sure is. Anyways what will you have for lunch? The usual?" asked Jai as he opened the menu

" Jai! Forget the menu…" said Bani as she pulled the menu out of a shocked Jai "… you know I was so lonely here and really wanted to move back home.. But now! Now… I've found Pia… I mean yeah Julie's around.. but she is after all younger… Oh this is great"

" I'm happy for you Bani. And you never told me you wanted to move back home? I mean I know your lonely and I've been really busy… but Paris, after all, is known as the city of love… I thought we'd live here"

Bani looked at Jai disheartened.. "hmmm.. how would you know… we hardly get time to talk…the only time we have is at nigh…" but Bani stopped to end the sentence. She knew what Jai was going to say next

" hmm and we hardly get time to talk at night…nah?" winked Jai..

Yep Bani was right. She knew him to well

Bani looked away embarrassed.

" Kya sexy lagti ho when you get embarrassed." Bani's face got even more red, resembling a tomato color. Jai couldn't help but laugh.

" Shall me order lunch..hmm?" asked Jai again. Bani nodded and both Jai and Bani enjoyed rest of their time together talking about what each other did through out the day.

"So what's the plan for tonight?" asked Jai.

" umm… Sir your mistaken. I stopped making plans for us because you – seem – to – break- them- by-showing- up –late" said Bani childishly while poking Jai on the chest..

" I'm sorry bapa.." said Jai putting both his hands up.. "…bbuuutttt… how about I make the plans tonight" said Jai leaning in to Bani for a kiss.

"Come on Jai…" laughed Bani while pushing Jai away.. " lunch got a little long today…aren't you going to be late to work?"

Jai sighed a yes and then raised his pinky indicating he had to use the rest room. Bani nodded and smiled.

Bani giggled like a little school girl that had just met her crush.

I hope everyday feels like this… life without Jai would be unbearable…

Bani's thought was quickly distracted by a ring. She checked her phone… and nope…she hadn't received a message. She turned to see that Jai had left his phone…Bani picked up the phone to check the message… she found the reminder ring indicating a message annoying.

Bani flipped open Jai's high tech phone and pressed okay to you have received a message.

From: P
Received: 2:14 pm
Message:
Jai! Where have you been?!
You need to be here now!
Come as fast as you can.

Bani read the message twice…

Who could this be from…whose P ?
