Part 2

"mmmmm…." Bani stretched as she was awoken by the sun that peered through the open balcony. She smiled from remembering last night and turned to see her husband. But to her dismay, Jai was not there.

"left early for work again…"

It was the usual story. Lately trying to save his business had him really caught up in work. She rarely caught him in the morning and she would be lucky if they met for lunch. The only time of the day she looked forward to was the night. That was their time.

Disappointed, Bani got herself out of bed and got ready for the rest of the day. As she finished drying her hair, she thought about calling Jai. She found her cell phone on the side table and speed dialed Jai's cell…

Rang for a while….. but finally an answer

" Hi Jaan"

" hmm… you leave early again… and have the audacity to call me jaan"

" Sorry bapa… I thought…."

Bani laughed " …that I would know you would leave early… I'm just joking… just called to see if you had your breakfast'

" Yes Maam! I had it an hour ago" replied Jai giving a slight laugh.

" I miss you…" sighed Bani hoping Jai would understand that she would love to spend more time with him.

" I know jaan… but the business will soon be up… You know, I just got some good news.. It shouldn't be that long now… I know I haven't been around much.. but I promise that will change soon…"

Bani never wanted to be one of those nagging wives that questioned their husband all the time….

" I understand… you take your time.. so what if your business has you for a couple days… your mine for the next 7 life times…" said Bani sweetly..

"Bus. Sirf saat jaan mo thakh?... tik tik tik…" laughed Jai… then seriously replied… "…sorry hun… your trapped with me for eternity."

Bani couldn't help but give a slight smile to herself…

" Still!… Even after so many months still shying from your husband?.."

Bani straightened up and looked around thinking Jai was around…

Jai laughed "okay jaan have to go… I will catch you tonight… maybe we can replay last night.."

Bani laughed "BYE JAI!!"

She hung up the phone and got ready to head to the club house located near her apartment. She hung out there a lot lately and managed to make friends with a sweet girl named Julie. Julie was also from India and had moved to France to continue her studies in art. Only a few years younger than Bani, made Bani feel as if she had a little sister. Besides Bani still wasn't good with her French and having a fluent speaker like Julie made life a lot easier in France.

Bani rushed in to the club house to find Julie waiting with her head rested on her arm at their usual table.

Bani smiled, ran towards the table and got ready for the battle that was about to come

" Ah ha.. so the Queen finally found some time for me"

" Sorry Julie"… Bani sat down on the seat opposite of Julie and whispered hoping Julie would understand to lower her voice … ".. I got up late this morning… samja kar"

" oh ho… so woh gumnaam jiju … how dare he… he hardly finds time for you during the day…"

"Julie…" said Bani in a stern voice

" Sorry sorry…I was only joking… okay to batao… kya hua kaal raat ko?!" Julie asked curiously while smiling innocently…

"That, my little sister, is none of your business…" laughed Bani "… he just came home late as usual… but last night it got very late…" said Bani as she drifted away remembering the night…

Julie noticed Bani going into the flashback and understood right away what Bani was remembering..

" Okay Bus! Bus!…" said Juilie disgustingly.. "I'm not married yet, so don't ruin my virgin ears"

"haha.. I'm sorry but wasn't it just you asking about my night? Hmmm?"

" My bad… yaar" said Julie folding her hands…

Both laughed off the matter and ordered their usual breakfast meal. And as always, after breakfast both went for a walk on the beautiful France streets to digest their morning meal. But their walking quickly turned to shopping for the next 2 hours…

"Bani…so is lunch with me or with J-I-J-U ?!"..

Bani laughed.. " What do you have against my husband huh?"

"Nothing really… I just feel that once a couple is married they should spend every moment… every second together. But aapka Jai has no time for you… you deserve better.."

Bani smiled, knowing Julie had not experienced love yet understood her concern "You don't know Jai as I do. Once you love someone it doesn't mean that you need to spend each and every moment with them. Just knowing that their love and honesty is there is just enough. And besides when I miss Jai… I just close my eyes and right there in front of me I see and feel my Jai. I love and trust my Jai and I know that his business means a lot… it won't be that long when we will spend more time together.."

" aww so Swwwwweeeeeetttt" cried Julie sarcastically…

Bani laughed but was interrupted with her ring tone agar tum mil jao… going off.

Bani laughed again… " haha it's your gumnaam jiju" . Julie rolled her eyes and signaled Bani to answer the call.

"Hi Jai"

"bonjour mon amour. Vous aimez prendre le djeuner avec moi ? !"

" Kya?!"

Jai laughed and then cleared his throat. " Hi my love. Would you like to have lunch with me?!"

"haha much better… and the answer to your question.. oui monsieur… I would love too… should I meet you at work.."

" No no .. ummm lets just meet at our favorite restaurant. Okay?"

" Yeah no problem" Bani said disappointed… she really thought she would finally get a chance to see where Jai worked... but being able to have lunch with her husband was enough..

" How about in a half an hour?"..

" Sure no problem..Bye"

Bani turned to face Julie whose eyes were caught by the cute puppies in the pet store.

"what did jiju say"…

"Sorry love… lunch today is with him" smiled Bani.

Julie smiled. No matter what she was happy for Bani. Julie said bye and left towards home… besides she was loaded on homework that she had left for the last minute.

Bani so excited to see Jai almost skipped her way towards their restaurant. Though holding her happiness she decided that she would take the long way there, after all she was a woman and being a tad late was what we women did. Bani managed to pull of being 5 minutes late and walked in to the restaurant in smiles… but her smile quickly turned to shock… this was nothing she had expected…

First!!

Awesome story, and different storyline, Bani trusts Jai completely, hope this doesnt cause any problems in the future

And Bani's friend is so funny, gumnaam jiju😆

I wonder what Bani see in the restaurant that shocks her
