Who could this be from…whose P ?
Bani kept wondering who the message could be from. More than that she was worried that something could be wrong with Jai's business. He had put in so much time.
"What's wrong?" asked Jai as he sat down in his seat.
"Ohh. Nothing.. Umm you got a message"
Jai looked at his phone and went to go pick it up "Oh did I… umm forget it… I'll check it later… this is our time… I owe that to you."
" Jai that's sweet but I think you should answer it. It seems important. I read it. I'm sorry… but you know that stupid reminder ring…"
"Bani it's okay. You have every right to answer my phone. Don't be sorry. Let me see what the message is about."
Jai read the message and placed his phone down.
That's it. Aren't you going to tell me what's it about
It was as if Jai had read her mind.
" Don't worry about it Bani. It's my secretary Patricia. It's probably a meeting that I need to be at"
A secretary?! A secretary that calls her boss by the first name? what kind of secretary is that?! Snap out of it Bani
" Well then you should get going Jai. You've worked so hard. I don't want to be the reason why it falls again"
Jai gave a small laugh
"You know you're just perfect. Your non-selfish nature just draws me in even more"
Jai moved in again to get a kiss. But this time Bani didn't find time to pull away.
"Jai. Stop. People are watching" whispered Bani
"Let them." Jai moved in again but stopped as his phone rang with another message again
" Patricia?"
"Yeah"
"You better go"
Jai finished reading the message. "Yeah I've got to get going… Look umm I'll call you tonight…remember I'm making plans" winked Jai
" Alright" smiled Bani
" Love you." Jai kissed Bani on the cheek
" Love you too."
Bani watched as Jai paid their bill. Jai turned and gave a smile and a wink. Bani, as usual, shied away and got up herself wondering what she was going to do for the rest of the day until Jai called explaining what the night plans would consist of.
Umm I could call Julie… but she maybe busy with homework. Maybe a nice walk… and shopping… yeah I should get a nice dress for tonight. It's not always that Jai makes plans for us.
Bani pat herself on the back for her great thinking. She decided she would go to the finest store and pick out the most expensive dress. Bani headed for the main streets of France. She hardly traveled in that area because they were crowded with couples making her feel jealous. But today was different. She didn't care. She was excited for tonight thinking that others should be jealous of her since she had a husband like Jai.
Bani walked down the street full of designer stores and her attention was quickly caught by a beautiful black dress that was not too much and too little.
Spaghetti straps, low cut, just below the knee and a beautiful waist band. And wow… a cute bow in the back. It's a winner.
An excited Bani walked into the store and without reading the price, bought the dress and some accessory to go with it.
Jai is going to die seeing me tonight
Bani smiled and got embarrassed at her own thoughts. She walked out of the store and walked through the main streets again. Observing other couples did nothing to Bani today. She looked around and smiled… but her attention was caught by a couple in the corner that seem to be bickering. Bani narrowed in to get a better look, she could see the woman but the man had his back to Bani
Ah ha! I thought it was! It's Pia… but who is she bickering with?
Bani walked in the direction towards Pia but quickly stopped.
Is that Jai?! YEAH! It's Jai… but what are they fighting about?!
Bani walked towards them…
"Hi guys"
"Bani?!.. Hi sweety what are you doing here"
"Nothing. I was just shoppi… forget me what are you guys doing here?… and were you, were you fighting?
"Of course we weren't fighting silly. I just met Jai here. He was telling me that he finished lunch with you… I must tell you your husband loves you a lot. He couldn't stop talking about you"
Bani looked at Jai
"Yep.. And Bani, why would we be fighting?..."
Yeah why would they be fighting.. Bani your too much!
Bani grabbed Jai's arm and smiled
"Yep. He does love me a lot, as do I" Jai and Bani smiled at each other.
" Well I need to get to the office… I'm running late" Jai told the girls.. "and Bani… I think we'll do dinner at 7 pm. And by the looks of the bag your holding there, I'm going to have to make reservations at a special place."
"Yeah I got a little carried away. And besides you owe me a special dinner"
Both laughed
"Well it seems I've come in between some plans again. Sorry again… Bani I'll catch you later"
Bani and Pia said their byes and Jai left as well to head to work.
Some day. Pia who I have not seen for years, I see twice today… hahaha..
Bani looked at her watch and it was 3:30. It would take 30 min to walk home and the rest of time to make herself perfect for Jai.
- 3 hours later-
6:30… 6:32….6:35
I have got to stop looking at the clock…
Bani threw a near by towel to cover the clock. It really only took her 2 hours to get ready after reaching home. She had checked the mirror every 15 min. to make sure she looked perfect.
Though 5 before 7.. there was a knock on the door.
Finally!!
Bani gathered herself and opened the door. There standing in front of her was Jai dressed in a black suit matched with a white shirt. His top two buttons were undone as he liked it. He looked better than ever.
" ahhhhh… you've changed your clothes already?" asked Bani who was completely mesmerized by Jai's look
"So you can go shopping and I can't… and oh la la… I've got a wife that every man dies for" Jai leaned in and grabbed Bani's shoulder moving her around to get a better look
"Alright so we're staying home"
"JAI!"
"Haha just joking. We are going somewhere special. But for that we need to cover your eyes"
"Why?"
"Surprise my dear" Jai pulled out a black clothe from his pocket and tied it around Bani's eye.
"How's that… can you see?"
"Yep.. I can only see you!. I don't need these eyes to see you"
Jai smiled and was speechless. He leaned in and wrapped an unexpected Bani in a hug and a kiss.
" I'm serious… lets just stay home… we could have so much more fun" whispered Jai as he leaned in for Bani's neck.
" Jai" Bani said sternly
" Okay Okay"
Jai held Bani's hand and escorted her to the special place… It took about 40 min to get to their destination. And throughout the time Bani tried her best to get some hints to where they were going. But Jai would not budge.
Jai got out of the car and quickly ran to open Bani's door. He carefully helped her out and started to untie the piece of clothe.
"Here we are my queen"
Bani gasped at the scene in front of her…
