Bani walked to her room making sure that he had left for office. She opened the room and walked in inhaling the scent of the perfume he had used. The room smelled of him. She walked to the mirror and stared at her. A small lump had formed on her right side of her forehead. She touched and winced in pain. She stared at her flushed face. She felt her reflection mocked her.
Bani… yeh thum ne kya kiya? How could you do something as this?
Meine kya kiya? She frowned.
You kissed Jai walia bani……' taunted her inner voice.
'tho kya hua? He is after all my husband….
Oh really! Mocked her mirror image.
'Nahi….. mein kaya karoon abh. Bagwan!!!!!!!! Kyon na mein uske aane se pehle yahan se bag jaoon…..
Agar yeh ek solution hein tho bagajaoo…..
Oh God!!1 help me please… she covered her face with her hand.
Bani couldn't forget the look on his face… he looked shocked.
Thumhari harkath kya shock se kam tha bani??? Cried her inner voice.

Jai was with full of smiles. Aditya commented on his mood.
'Lately you have been in a very good mood Jai.. kya abth hein humein bhi raaz bathaooo.'
Jai smiled.
'Kahin…. Thum hare is hasi ki karan Bani tho nahin…? Aditya winked.
Jai chuckled well naturedly.
Aditya threw him an I thought so look.
Jai reached home a little later than usual. Bani panicked.
Bagwan! Kahin mere karan tho nahin…..'
Bani was in the balcony she saw Jai's car pull up in the porch. She walked hurriedly out of the balcony to the room. 'I'll have to get out of here before he came into the room she thought. She ran out of the room.
Jai was climbing the stairs she came down hurriedly. Not meeting his eyes she asked, ' aap keliye chay bijwadoon?'
'no I'll have dinner straight.'
'Ji..' she went past him avoiding his gaze.
Jai suppressed his smile.
Muje pata hein Bani ki thum mujse bag rahi ho. Dekthe hein… kahan thak baagoge… with that thought he strode to his room.
At dinner Maasi noticed the swell on her head.
'Thumhare sir ko kya hogaya beta….?' Maasi asked drawing all the eyes upon her.
'kya maasi..' she asked innocently.
'thumhare sir pe……'
In reflex BAni touched her forehead. Jai looked at her intently. Noticing a small lump on her forehead.
'woh darwaze pe ………' she said meekly.
'dekh kar chala karo beta…' Dadi commented.
She felt his gaze upon her and blushed.
BAni couldn't stall the time to go the room. She dreaded the time alone with him. She sat with Anu for a while. Anu looked so sleepy BAni thought if she had stayed a moment long Anu would fall asleep then and there. She bid her good night and walked to Dadi and maasi's room.
They were getting ready for bed.
'Kya hua beta kuch chahiyein?' asked maasi.
'nahin maasi mein bas yoohi…'
'Jao beta rath bahoth hochuki hein ..'
'Ji…'
She walked out of her room taking a deep breath climbed the stairs. She opened the bedroom door with all kinds of thoughts crossing her mind. She walked in and found the room empty she heaved a sigh of relief. She took her night gown from the cupboard and walked towards the bathroom.
Jai walked in from the balcony and put his phone on the night stand. And switched on the music system. Jagjit sings voice filled the room.
Thum ko dekha tho yeh khya ayaa…..
Zindagi doop thum Ghana sayaa….
He heard the bathroom door click and he turned. Bani emerged from the toilet saw him. Her heart pounded in her chest. She walked to her bed and sat down looking at him from the corner of her eye. She saw him walk towards her. She caught her breath and looked at him..
He stopped near her and said, ' yeh thumhare liye..' he extended a velvet box at her.
'mere liye?' she couldn't believe her eyes.
'han…. Khol kar dekho……'
She took the box and opened it. 'It's beautiful'. She said looking at the small chain and a diamond pendent.
Jai smiled.
'thum hein pasand aaya?
'han..lekin….
'lekin kya?' he frowned.
'meiene tho bas…. Roshni ko chidane keliye kaha tha .. gift ke barein mein…..' she said hesitantly.
He looked at her uncertain face and said, ' thum kya soch kar beit jathe ho Bani…. Don't run away with thoughts. Jab mein office se lout raha tha tho mein ek jwellery ki ad dekha…. And here it is….. he took the chain and clasped it around her neck.
'what's happening thought Bani.
'Ithna heiran hone ki zarrorath nahin hein Bani…' he chuckled.
'Go and take a look in the mirror..' he ushered her towards the mirror.
Bani walked up to the mirror. It looked stunning she thought.
'tell me how's it." He asked towering behind her.
She smiled and turned towards him.
'thank you…'
'thank you ki zaroorath nahin hein…' he said taking her face in his hands and looking in her eyes.
A tremor ran through her spine. His eyes searched her face and finally touched the lump on her forehead. He leaned and kissed the spot. Sending rippling sensation through her.
'Bani……' warned her inner voice. Thum hi ne yeh dangerous khel shuru kiya hein abh thum kya karogi….?
Bani's mobile phone rang.
Jai's senses came thudding to a halt. He stilled.
Bani took a step backwards not meeting his eyes. She took the phone from her night stand.
Pia's number flashed on the screen.
