Part 7 A wayward tear escapes from Jai's eyes. He still couldn't believe that his own sister....
Bani signals him to join her on the bed. He goes to where she is and rests his head on her lap. She caresses it soothingly, "Jai, I know it hurts."
Jai: "It does...it hurts a lot. Jigyaasa, despite being my own sister, betrayed me...and you went to such great lengths to protect me...why?"
Bani: "If you ask me, I think it was foolish not to tell you before but maybe I couldn't bear seeing you this hurt!"
Jai: "You leaving me would certainly hurt more...how can a man live without his life?"
Bani: "I love you."
Jai: "I love you too Bani."
Due to fatigue coupled with tension, he was instantly knocked out.

Everyone is sitting at the table, eating in silence. In between mouthfuls they glance at Jai who has a solemn look on his face. After the very awkward breakfast Raashi gets up and hands Jai a piece of paper. Jai reads the paper, hands it to Mausi and says with an air of finality, "its better this way." With that he gets up and goes to his study.
Mausi reads the letter aloud:
"Jai Bhaiya, I am leaving. Please don't come to look for me and please forgive me if you can... Jigyaasa."
Bani goes into the study and sees him standing near the windows. She walks up to him and hugs him from behind.
Bani: "Jai, I'm sorry that you have to go through all this."
Jai: "You don't have to say sorry. It's not your fault."
He turns around and returns her hug.
Jai: "We never got to finish what we started that night...," he whispers in her ears with a smile playing on his lips.
Bani, naughtily: "And who's to blame for that?"
Jai: "Ouch! Why don't I make it up to you...we'll go out for dinner tonight?"
Bani: "Sure."
Jai: "It's a date then. Be ready by 7:30 ok?"
With that he kisses her forehead and rushes off to work.

Rano, hanging up the phone: "Di that was Pushkar, he's...
Before Rano could finish her sentence she sees Pushkar walk in, hand in hand with a beautiful girl.
Rano, winking: "Wow that was fast!"
Pushkar: "Hey Rano, Bani."
Bani: "Hello Pushkar, kaisi ho?"
Pushkar: "I'm great!"
"I can see why!" Rano says smiling at the girl.
"Oh sorry...this is my girlfriend Simran," he says to them, smiling sheepishly.
Simran, putting out her hand: "You must be Bani, it's so nice to finally meet you."
Bani, shaking Simran's hand: "It's nice to meet you too."
Simran shakes Rano's hands too.
Pushkar: "Bani, we just stopped in to say hi and bye...we have a flight to catch."
Bani: "Where are you going?"
Pushkar: "We're going to Shimla. Simran's parents live there and they want to meet me."
Bani, smiling: "Thanks for stopping in and have fun."
Pushkar gives Bani and Rano a bear hug, "Take care of yourselves and if you need anything...don't call me I'll be busy!"
They burst out laughing when he says that, making Simran blush.
Simran: "Pushkar!"
Pushkar: "I'm just joking, don't hesitate to call me if you need anything."
Rano: "We won't."
Simran: "We've gotta get going or else we'll miss our flight. It was really nice to meet you both."
Bani: "Bye...phir milenge."
Rano and Bani wave to the couple, so obviously in love, as they drove off.
Rano: "Di, it's so good to see him happy again."
Bani smilingly nods her head in agreement.

Jai couldn't help but stare at Bani as she walked down the stairs. He was spellbound. His eyes admire her beauty from head to toe, noting her curled hair, the soft glow her face has, the dress clinging to her curves and stopping at her knees, her sandals.
She walks up to him and gently closes his mouth.
Bani, laughing at his reaction: "Stop drooling..."
Jai: "How can I when you look so beautiful?"
"Thank you. You don't look so bad yourself," she says wondering how he managed to look so extremely handsome in a black striped shirt with plain black trousers.
Jai: "Chalen?..."
He takes her arm in his and escorts her to the car, opens the door for her, closes it and gets in on the driver's side.
Bani: "Jai you didn't tell me where we're going."
Jai: "You'll know when we get there."
They pull up to a posh restaurant. Jai gives the car keys to the valet and takes her arm in his once again, leading her into the restaurant. Inside the atmosphere is very romantic...the lights are dimmed with candles on every table and soft melodious music playing in the background.
The waitress leads them to their table and he pulls out her chair for her. She sits, noticing the other couples glancing at them. Two waiters come out with dinner and champagne and Jai pours it for both of them. Half an hour later, the waiters clear the table.
Jai: "Would the lady honor me with a dance?"
Bani: "Of course."
Jai and Bani walk to the dance floor. Jai gives a nod to the waiter and the song Sholon Si comes on.

Bani: "Wow Mr. Walia you really surprised me tonight!"
Jai: "That was nothing Mrs. Walia, wait till we get home..."
He leans over and kisses her fervently before starting the car.
