Hello everyone

I know I'm really late with this update. It's like over a month. Just got caught up with things at home and work place. Hopefully things should ease up now and I shall try to do an update a week at least from now on.

From here you might find the flash back a little bit fast paced I hope that's fine with you all.

Chapter 21 B

Present day in Canada.

Jai is deep in his thoughts and you could feel in those steel grey eyes getting damp. Yes it was one evening he would like to forget from his life when he had carried his angel's life less form to the hospital. The doctors had to work all night on her. But they couldn't save their symbol of love on which his angel had already had high hopes.

Yes that was the turning point of their marriage as Jai recollects now. Bani weren't the same after that. First she was under severe depression. He still remembers the next morning after surgery when she woke up and came to know of the baby. She was hysterical and sobbing. She looked helplessly towards him and even accused him of not saving the baby.

Bani: Jeet you promised everything would be fine. I really took care then where did it all go wrong. You said you tell me what to do and nothing would happen then how did this happen. How could you let them take the baby away?

She was practically sobbing and hitting on to Jai. He was scared that the I.V. needles would hurt her or something would happen. He just called out for the nurses. All the while he was trying to hold her in his arms just trying to protect her from all the danger. But this time he had failed. And that was something he wasn't used to in a long time.

Jai still felt why was it that we always hurt the person whom we love the most. Why is it that they pay for your sins? They say everything happens for the better but till to date he cannot say that one thing that changed the course of their marriage was for the better. The scars were deep and today he felt it the most when he saw the twins. His angel never told him about the kids. The girl who never hid anything could hold back something so important what ever be the reasons for them moving apart. Now as he stands here and sees the darkness setting in. He knows he is the one to blame for all the pit falls in their marriage. His angel only knew to love and that is one thing he has always run away from.

After coming back from the hospital too Jai had a hard time controlling his wife. Finally the doctors had to sedate her for few days as it was not helping her health. Her B.P. would go up which was not good for her currently. They had stopped the bleeding and the doctors and the counselors reassuring words that they could have a baby any time in the future helped to reconcile to the fact and this time she was not ready. But next time they could ensure everything would be fine so she could carry her sweet little thing to term. Though she came into terms with the fact that they had lost the baby it took her longer to bounce back to life.

Every evening for the next one month Jai got to see his wife moving around like a zombie. She was living a life of a ghost she wasn't interested in the thing stat happened around her. She was mechanical in everything. Gone were the days when he would always would be greeted with a smiling face and hug. He had longed to see that look on his angels face. Finally he decided to take a break by putting Adi in charge. He still remembers the conversation he had with Adi.

Adi: A good choice I hope this time at least you will do things the way Bani too would enjoy.

Jai couldn't understand what he meant by that. He looked at his friend confused. So Adi went to say.

Adi: It's just something Massi and I observed and commented to. But never had the courage to come and tell you but anyways I saying it because as friend I want to see you happy always. Bani's life after marriage revolved too much around you. She did things to please you. Her happiness was in you. As an individual she ceased to exist. Yes she did pursue her interests and college but then that is what you wanted her to do, so she did it. There is a difference in that. Jai try to be more understanding. And may be away from the daily routine you both could talk and make up for the loss you just had now.

Jai: I never thought that Bani changed so much to suit me. She was always happy and loved to do lot of things I never stopped her fro anything. Yes I'm not have got mad with her at times.

Adi: You are not getting it Jai. She looks up to you and according to her you will never do nothing wrong. She too has to know that you are human bound to error you too can fall. You have to be one another's strength and support. She is young she would take time to understand. Take it from experience. There isn't a day I feel if I had paid more attention to Jigyasa and listened to her out during the initial days of the marriage she would have understood me much better and would have come around. But now it's too late to mend things. The more we try to patch the gap widens and it becomes sore. I do not want to see another marriage like mine. I know you two are meant to be.

Jai: I never knew my friend was so philosophical. And sorry about my sister. I never understood her. But I felt you at least did. But guess I was wrong there too.

Adi: You are not entirely wrong. There was a time when I understood her. But then things changed and then they were never the same. So I hope this change doesn't come in your future happiness. Yes a change is good but too much is also not favorable. So hope to see you both back as the same loving couple.

So Jai decided to take break and move to the farm house for a month so that Bani could recover and she had her term break too. The change in scene and everything the doctor said would be good for her. Yes that trip did wonders for his wife. And like Adi had said too much of change was not also good.

Bani changed to an extent that he lost his doting wife who held on to his every word and did things to just make him happy ceased to exist after that trip.

In the farm house Jai took her to the cabin which he had designed and it held all his memories. On the walls there were pictures of him as a boy with his mother. And on one wall Bani got to see herself. She was surprised to see that one picture.

Jai commented that was the first time he had seen her and decided that she was going to be in his life. To which Bani had just one comment always so sure of himself. I wonder if there would be anyone who could dent that big ego of yours.

Jai had playfully commented that you only say I play to win and you call me Jeet because of that. Yes after a long time he felt his wife was opening up slowly and the smile was back on her face.

But things were not the same. They never discussed about their loss. They talked about lot of things that happened to them as a child. And they decided they would go for baby only after Bani finishes her college after their consultations with the specialist doctors.

So they set out on a new way of life. Jai never stopped Bani from doing anything. And Bani always seeked his permission before venturing into anything. But thing started to get hectic. Bani was very much involved with the college. Her shows she choreographed for students at the dance academy she herself got trained. Though she never performed. Then the charity works which she assisted Massi. Then the parties and business lunches she attend with Jai. Gone was their private time. It was like when Jai was free she wasn't and when she was free Jai would be away on some trip. Her other commitments never helped them to make a trip together. So it was one roller coaster ride. There were days when they couldn't event talk to one another over ht phone. But still they were very much in love or so they both thought. But then the long distant relationship wasn't working out great. Jai wanted Bani to give up on something's and stop being a super woman and spend time with him. Also to be a part of the expanding business.

Bani had made it very clear that she wouldn't want to be part of the business life. It was beyond her. And they both would never be able to agree on anything. Why increase the tension was her point. But Jai felt that she was trying to avoid him.

Jai accused her of not having time for him. To which she also answered back saying that she wasn't the one away she was at home every night and not globe trotting every other month. It was him.

Jai would say that he was not doing it for himself. The life style they were living required him to work hard. To which she had only one thing to say money is not the end of the world And to let her know when he had reached this target of conquering everything that is under the sky. She was not a part of the race. Jai just couldn't make her understand that there were lot of people who depended on him. He just couldn't give up everything over night because he choose to be with his wife. Why cannot she understand something so simple. Hence it was cause of frequent bickering between them which did not go unnoticed by the family. But then no one ever dared to say anything against the two of them. As they would always come in defense of the other one. So it was a futile attempt on their part. It was like a wait and watch situation.

But there was one place were they never had a problem that was in bed. Slowly their arguments even reached there. Bani said that he was only interested in her for that. To which Jai had one thing I don't understand your complains, when it is something you also enjoy. So what's the problem?

Yes and till today he couldn't get it. Why his wife would be mad at him most of the time saying that he had a one track mind. Yes he knew s** wasn't the answer to their problems. But then somehow their heated arguments always ended up that way.
