Happy New Year!!! Read all the missed parts. Lovely updates!! Their marriage life was beautifully penned! Their mushy parts, their fights, Bani's childishness, the way she sulks , her mood swings, the way she tries to please him, their banter, his concern, possessiveness n love for her, her mixed emotions, her relationship with masi n Ranu, their honey moon, each n everything was very well described! So our Bani is pregnant……Eager to know what happened btw them…

Chapter 21 A

It was hard to say who looked more shocked. They just looked at one another than at the doctor. But Jai was the first to come out of the revive.

Jai: Are you sure doctor. Because we had used precautions.

Doctor: You should know Mr. Walia all precautions are not hundred percent.

Bani: Finally finding her voice but the doctor had assured the patch would be better since the pills made me nauseous.

Doctor: I know that but I like said nothing is 100%. But now since you are pregnant I would like you to undergo few more tests so if you don't mind Mr.Walia could you please wait here and Bani I will join you shortly.

Bani were hesitant to follow the nurse she looked at Jai. Jai gave hr a reassuring nod.

Bani just followed the nurse like a zombie.

Jai: If you don't mind can I join when the test are taken. She is not that comfortable with the idea of hospitals.

Doctor: Sure but I detained you for another matter. I know you hadn't planned for this to happen but now as a doctor I have to make sure it's a risk free pregnancy.

Jai: What are you trying to say here?

Doctor: Mr. Walia I do not want to say anything before I do the tests. Your wife is young and she is quite week also I think your wife would find it difficult to carry the baby to term. Her uterus lining is quite week. That doesn't mean she cannot be a mother at all but at this stage it's very risky for the mother and the child. Then the BP level showing was also high which another reason of concern for me is.

Jai: I don't care for the baby doctor but my wife I want her to be alright if you want we can abort the child too.

Doctor: I think you are getting hasty Mr. Walia. Let the reports come through now I think your wife is expecting us.

The doctor explained in detail why they were running the tests just to satisfy Jai and Bani felt something was a miss Jai seemed tensed was it because now they are going to have the baby or something more to that. When the doctor asked her to be extra cautious and gave her a diet plan then asked her to take it easy though she did allow her to attend the college she warned if anything she felt out to the normal to come and see her. Now Bani was getting worried So she just asked the doctor if everything is fine. To which the doctor gave a very evasive reply and the tension on her husbands face was enough to tell her things were not right. And the final statement by the doctor saying that they should wait for another eight weeks before they announce to everyone that she was pregnant made her all the more jittery. So as Jai settled the bills and was stepping out he asked if she would like to have something to drink as on the drive to the hospital she had throw up. She said she wouldn't mind. It would give her an opportunity to find what the problem was.

So they just went to a near by coffee shop and she had a juice and sandwich while Jai was sipping on to his coffee absent mindedly. Finally Bani was the one to break the silence and confronted Jai finally he did tell her that it was not going to be easy. And he regretted the fact that he was not careful. To which Bani kind of felt odd that he was blaming himself for putting her in this situation. It suddenly started giving her negative thoughts.

Bani: Don't you want the baby.

Jai: It's not like that. It was unplanned.

Bani: So.

Jai: It's just that now the situation is risky if I was a bit cautious it wouldn't have happened.

Bani: But we did take precautions. And if God has blessed us why are you so upset.

That's when Jai looked up into his angels eyes and saw that tears were forming Oh no does she feel that he is upset over the fact she is pregnant. Soon Jai clarified the fact that it was not that he wasn't happy about the child. But he could never be able to put her life at risk to have that kind of joy in their life. TI would rather be nice to remain childless.

Bani was kind of in a real emotional mess after Jai said that. She was crying and smiling Jai himself couldn't figure out what was going tin that brain of hers.

Bani's statement that

Bani: Then don't blame yourself for it. Why don't you look at this way our love is taking form in the shape of the baby? Its not so hard then. It was a shock first. But after the scan it was kind of nice feeling to know that I have a part of you growing in me. You know what I mean. Jai just looked at her. In fact he couldn't get the cream of it and what love and all that she was talking about now when her own life is in risk. Jai knew one thing for sure. If something happened to Bani during the pregnancy he would never be able to look at that child i.e. provided she could carry it to term. And now one more thing was there to fear for him if the baby was lost too his wife wouldn't be able to take it. From the surprise and shocking news just been delivered how did his wife all of sudden come to accept the fact she was going to be a mother. Does she even realize the alterations that would come in their life? She had lot of dreams to pursue carrier wise all that would be affected. Jai was for the first time not sure of were things were heading to. But he wanted to see that lovely smile on his wife. For that he could do anything. So if it was to choose between the wife and the baby it would be his wife. Jai was lost in his thoughts that he didn't register half of the things Bani was saying. She had already started dreaming of the happy family they were going to become. Sensing Jai needed time as they got into the car she kept quite. And Bani dozed off. But she was surprised when they woke up at Massi's house.

Bani; what are we doing here?

Jai: I think it would be better if Massi was there with you now.

Bani: Just because I'm pregnant you want me here. She looked at him with those hurtful eyes.

Jai: Angel you know I am not there with you all the time Massi would be a better person at times like this. And you would find it more comfortable.

Bani: How do you know that? I am the one pregnant not you.

Jai: Try to be reasonable. I would not be of much help if you have any discomfort.

Bani: I'm not going to stay here all alone if that is your idea.

Jai: Where are you alone there is Massi, Adi now stays here...?

Bani: You will not be there that is what I meant.

Jai knew there would be no arguing with her as she would be stubborn and then her tantrums would start which would not be good for the BP. So he compromised and said he too would stay along here.

Bani: Really.

Jai: Yes happy.

Bani: Very much and hugged Jai and gave him a kiss. Jai only could smile she truly was like a child and now she is going to be a mother.

Jai so shall we go down and one more thing I have only just told Massi and we will wait before we announce the news to everyone.

Bani: And what reason do you propose to give for our surprise visit here.

Jai: You think of something crazy.

Bani: This is not done. First you bring me here and now I have to cook up stories.

Jai: Why steal the lime light from you.

Bani: Jai Walia appreciating someone this is new.

Jai: Hey that's not fair I always appreciate for what you have done.

Bani: Ya tell me about it. I know how that mind of yours works Save it. Your appreciation is the reason now that we have winded up here. Jai had a guilty look on his face So Bani soon added. Not that I am complaining it has its perks and she winks at him.

On seeing Bani Massi gets the thali and does tikka and all that. Bani was like Massi I'm the same Bani just because now I'm your Munna's wife wow what a grand welcome. I should have thought of this before itself. Jai who was drinking water on the other end could only cough and Bani came to help him by rubbing his back.

Bani: Relax. Anxiety is not good for you. You are going to become a father.

Adi on seeing Jai there in the night was surprised was the least said about it better. But when he came to know the reason form Jai's mouth. He was like are you serious.

Jai: Don't give me that look Adi.

Adi: Are you aware that there are precautions for this.

Jai: oh please Adi I don't need a study class on that now.

Adi: Fine then how did you get yourself into this situation if it was not planned.

Jai: For the first time I don't know and stop giving those looks. If I wanted to become a father I wouldn't have waited for so long.

Adi: Ya but you were not married to all those girls. They are what you used to say Ah Passing fancies.

Jai: Don't rub it in. I guess I kind of over looked and if I really wanted her pregnant that would have happened months ago.

Adi: Well all the best and I hope you are up to it. From what I just saw at the dinner table I never knew someone could make Jai Walia to dance to their tune.

Jai: Please Adi. I'm staying here as I'm concerned for her health. You know I come some days late form work She doesn't go to bed or even have dinner till I'm home. Then she has to say how the day was before we go to bed.

Adi: Finally can I take it some one has tamed the mighty Jai Walia.

Jai: Say what you want.

Just then Bani comes to interrupt their conversation. And sees the drink in his hand.

She just takes the glass. You are over the quota for the week.

Jai: Today I was just celebrating with Adi.

Bani: Mr. Walia for every time you have an excuse. So save it. Next week no drinks.

Jai just gives murderous glance towards Adi as he was the one who chatted for so long and he did not realize the amount of alcohol he was consuming. Now no way she would allow him to touch the bottle for a whole week.

But then for the first time Adi got to see an indulging side of Jai. He gave in quite quickly to Bani's whims and fancies. He was sure that his friend was so much in love with his wife. But he didn't even realize it and he would not be ready to acknowledge that feeling also. As he knew Jai would never want to admit the fact that he was vulnerable.

Massi too was happy with the change that see saw in Munna as the next day they were waiting for Jai join for dinner Massi was chatting with Bani.

Bani: So now my girl is going to be a mother. In all the excitement have you given a thought to be this that you really wanted in life. I know you had some other dreams before you came to Bombay.

Bani: Oh Massi I'm happy. And now your Munna too will change you just watch with this baby he is really going to be a doting father.

Massi: I am not asking about Munna I'm asking about you.

Bani: Ya so I'm telling you na. that I'm happy being married to him.

Massi: That's not what I asked.

Bani with a frowning look: Then

Massi: What about your carrier Bani.

Bani: I am going to college. It's just that for two days Mr. Walia asked to rest as I often feel very giddy the other day he had to come and collect me from college.

Massi: I know all that. But then your dancing music all that.

Bani: Oh I forgot about that to tell you I had done a piece in the previous college and I presented the same theme here and the dean was quite pleased. And now my team will perform. And don't worry "I will not perform. Last time itself he got upset and now this time no ways.

Massi did not like the way Bani was telling one by one the things that happen in their day to day routine. She felt somewhere along the line without Bani realizing she was changing herself to suit to Jai. She looked for his approval in everything. She wanted to please him. So finally Massi said.

Massi: don't you think you are trying to please him too much.

Bani: Oh come on Massi. He too is adjusting. Now he did come to stay here just because I insisted on it.

Massi knew her Munna would do anything to ensure her well being. And ac commanding person like her Munna was bound to have this effect on Bani. But now Massi feared what would happen as days went by. And same night a little later she heard Bani talking to her father's picture which her all the more worried.

Bani's monologue

(You know Papa I'm going to be a mother. Can you believe it? Ya I entered the marriage with lot of apprehensions but now I am happy. And I hope Jeet too feels the same. You know I call him that because he always plays to win and I kind of tease him for that. You know I think he loves me lot but he doesn't want to say it out loud. But that's fine one day he will tell me. And this baby is one thing that symbolizes our love. Jai is super worried over it. But I know things are going to be fine as he always knows to make things right for me. It's just that I hope I am always there for him the way he is there and I love the way he takes care of me. I know I act like a child at times. It's just that he gets on to my nerves at times. But then it's nice to know I can mellow him down with just my puppy face. So this kid is going to have super father cannot say about the mother like Jeet commented the now I have to take care of two babies. So he will have to cut down on work. I'm mighty pleased about it as it would do him good so he would take care of his health and staying here he gets to bond with everyone which other wise he does it mostly very reluctantly as a show for others. I just hope I can be the wife for him always the way he wants it. It's kind of sometimes hard to think that I am Mrs. Jai Walia but surely he doesn't forget to remind me that. He loves to harp it every now and then into my ears. But he never understands how thankful I am for having him in my life. Now I have family of my own for the first time just because of him and he always says he likes me the way I am. But then I always try to do things the way he likes it. Or he does get mad but then he relents too so I shouldn't be complaining. It's sometimes difficult to understand him but then he always does things to surprise me and I love it. He cannot see me angry or weepy too. I may be baby or sweet angle as he loves to call me. But now I want to show him his angel to can be a wife and mother…..)

Massi didn't get to hear the full extent of the monologue but one thing was clear to her. Bani relied too much onto Jai emotionally for the first time she found a person whom she call her own and love him. Her mother had left her father found hardly any time to spend with his daughter, then all the relatives only thought about the wealth that came with hr she was of least interest to them. Then when she had undertaken the responsibility after her father passed away there was a distance between them in spite of being so close to one another as she herself found it difficult to connect with the daughter of the man whom she loved. Now Massi felt that by agreeing to this marriage had she done the right thing. She had seen changes in Munna and for the first time he sounded worried. He had the same haunting look years back when Krishna was ill. If something happened to Bani he would be a lost man. Massi felt Jai was very possessive of her. And Bani hadn't seen the extent of it. So Massi now just had one prayer hoping that this pregnancy would bring good things in their life.

As days went by Bani was feeling better she resumed college and in their stay with Massi Bani got Jai to read bed time story for the twins saying that it was good to practice now it self as he was going to be father in few months. Others would just peep in to see that sight. The kids initially could never believe their mama doing something like that. But now they too enjoyed the story sessions with him. As they got to play with Bani didi As Jai allowed the kids to hover around her only when he was there. Massi too now felt light hearted as things were looking bright.

But things were short lived. One day as Bani came back form college she complained of terrible back ache and she wasn't feeling to well. Massi immediately informed Jai to come to take her to the hospital.

Massi then went up to see her. Massi asked if she wanted something. But all Bani said was its hurting badly. She wanted to call the doctor but Bani then asked her to rub a balm or to get a hot bag to help her.

When Bani stepped into the washroom a little later Massi said Jai is coming so have a glass of juice as they are leaving to see the doctor. As she came out of the kitchen with the juice it was to face Jai holding Bani in his arms pale like sheet.

Jai arrived promptly but only to see his angel lying lifeless near the bathroom tub and when he moved her slightly he saw blood that was the last coherent thought in his mind. The look Jai gave Massi as he was taking Bani to hospital was enough to say that the bridge or the bond Bani had tried to form between Jai and the family is all gone.

Massi only had one prayer now left. Hope this incident wouldn't cause any trouble in their married life. As both Jai and Bani had not realized the extent to which one another depended on. Their happiness lied in each other. And so a small spark to ignite fire.
