Homebound is not a movie that anyone expected to do well or even open well. It’s a critics’ film through and through. It’s small film that will probably be remembered for how well it was received in India and abroad by critics and how many festivals it was shown in. On top of that I believe the movie centers around the two male characters and Janhvi isn’t even the main focus.

Jahnvi isn’t the main focus? Then why was she front and centre during all the promotions on red carpet and interviews? She was wearing couture pieces and parading on red carpet all times. If she indeed has a small role then she should have laid low and let the focus be on the 2 main leads but no she clearly wants to piggyback on talented actors.

No film is made only for critics, all films are made for the public. They could have made a home video if they didn’t want the public to see it then. Excuses excuses.

Janhvi has not only Kjo,her dad is a producer. Her BF's mother who has been so supportive about Homebound, attended the Premiere, too is a well connected, wealthy producer. Janhvi, will be around for 2-3 years and then she will get married. Just ignnore her films.

I wouldn’t say she’s piggy backing off the two guys as she still is in the movie. But yea her being front and center is more of a PR move than anything. Let’s be real, no one would not go to Cannes or TIFF just because they have a small part in the movie.

Some films are made for the critics. If they make money then extra cherry on top. But some movies are made only for critical recognition and validation, and awards. Some movies are made knowing full well that it won’t be any kind of success at the box office. And since usually these movies are very low budget no one cares much as long as they get the critical validation.

yes i hate janhvi because i single out her endless priviledge and back to back movie offers despite numerous flops..come up with something better..just stating facts here

Yes this isn't janhvi's movie because it flopped..but Devara was janhvi's movie with hardly 10 min of role because it emerged a success?

Agree with your both latter posts... there is a lot more going on, even. Remember that Janhvi's only well received movie had been her first one - with Ishan as her partner...with a sad ending. This time however, interestingly, she plays a Dalit girl being in love with the Dalit young man played by Vishal Jethwa (Salaam Venky) and the one who brings the 'message' of striving for more/better education into the movie...

I don't (yet) know how well the movie is narrated as it is mainly about the bond the young men have but I suppose ulterior motives from Karan's side why Janhvi got casted.
