Chapter 11

After a horrible day at college Maithali come home

M: aww home sweet home

She kicks off her scandals, puts her bag on the table, grabs an apple and runs upstairs to her room. On arriving to her room she finds Kasturi looking out of the window, Kasturi after seeing Maithali quickly moves away from the window.

M: what were you looking at?

K: nothing

Maithali as suspicious as she is walks over to the window to see what Kasturi was looking at.

M: Adi? Hmm … eewww Adi!!!

K: yeah Adi so kya huwa?

M: I'll tell you 'kya huwa' you like Adi don't you?

K: no… that's stupid!

M: How could you his pig-headed-good-for-nothing ….

K: Maithali!!! Don't talk about Adi like that its not very nice

M: so you DO like him, I can't believe it, so all the times that me and Adi argued you always side with him and not me and… and at lunch times constantly look for someone and that someone is ADI… it all adds up (a shocked mathali falls on her bed with her hands up in the air) how stupid am I for not releasing this before

K: Maithali shut up what are you talking about… I don't like Adi that's ridiculous

M: oh yeah (Maithali gets up from her bed and walks over to her sisters and sits next to her) look into my eyes and say you feel nothing for Adi… mm go on then say it

Kasturi looks at her sisters eyes hesitantly

K: mm… I … erm… ok fine!!! Yes I like Adi ok …happy now!!!

M: lekin kyu?

K: his different from the other guys

M: yeah (maithali rolls her eyes) you can say that again

K: NO I mean in a good way… his really sweet, innocent and I just … I just … I like him ok…

Maithali stares at her sister's face like a lost puppy

K: Maithali you can't go and open your big mouth in front of everyone otherwise I will…

M: Di... I can't believe you… you're my sis and your secret is my secret and if you like Adi you like him… so what… although am against the WHOLE thing and by the way there is no way in hell am going to call him jiju

K: Maithali!!! (Kasturi blushes) that's all ok but I don't know if he likes me or not… he properly doesn't even notice I exist in that way.

M: well that's a good thing…if I so him looking at you like you were a piece of meat he would be sorry

K: Maithali!!!

Maithali looks at her sister sitting there looking out of the window at Adi

M: you really like him don't you? (Maithali sighs) di you know am always here for you if there is anything I can do to help you or whatever you know am here … ok?

K: thanks Maithali, you're the best

Both sisters hug each other. Maithali confused as to what her sister sees in Adi

M: adi? Why adi?

Kasturi hits her sister lightly

M: ouch!!! Hey that hurt … can't believe you hit me for that idiot!

But sisters giggle.

Meanwhile Adi standing outside his house, polishing his precious car, looks up at Maithali's and Kasturi's window.

A: mm I swear I heard my name? Oh well

Sujal: hi Adi… how was college?

A: it was ok, for the first time I actually learnt something in English

S: really? That sounds weird coming out of your mouth

A: I thought the same thing

Adi's phone rings

A: one minute bro

An Adi talk to his girlfriend on the phone for it seems as if forever.

A: ok darling love you too xx bye

He hangs up the phone and notices Sujal looking at him and smiling

A: what's so funny?

S: am just thinking … you changes girlfriends like clothes, do you actually like any of them? I mean you say 'I love you' but do you really?

A: well bhai… these girls don't really mean much to me… I mean yeah I say I love you to them but it has so effect… you know? I just say it to make them happy.

Sujal nods his head

S: I see

A: bhai … it's as simple as this… I go out with these girls just for fun it means nothing to me, and as for love am waiting for that prefect person to come my way

S: really? Interesting … but how will you know who this perfect women is?

Adi sits next to Sujal and puts his arm around Sujal's neck

A: bhai … bhai… bhai… I will just know… when she appears in front of me, the sun will shine on her, her hair will be blowing, my heart will be screaming 'she is the one' and of course music will be playing at the background

S: music?

A: yeah you know like the music in 'Main hoon na'

S: (starts laughing) Adi my jaan you are crazy (Sujal pushes Adi) too many movies that's what it is…

A: no it's not… I can picture the moment right now … her walking towards me, the music playing, just me and her….
