Chapter 12

The Mehra family were all sitting down enjoying their breakfast.

Maithali walks in to their house.

A: what does she want? (Adi whispers to himself, as soon as he sees her)

Shikar: good morning Maithali kaise ho tum?

M: fine chachu are you home today?

Shikar: yes, why are you asking?

M: no just asking

Mayuri: would you like breakfast?

A: obviously!!! Man don't you get breakfast in your own house…

Shikar: Aditya!!! Mind your manners!

A: well why does she have to come here to eat breakfast all the time?

M: actually for your kind information Adi I have eaten, (looking towards Mayuri) thank you anyway aunty and (looking towards Adi) am here to teach you!!!

A: what but I thought…

M: whatever you thought you thought wrong ok now hurry up chop chop… no time to waste

Shikar: you heard the teacher, now get going and if I hear a beep out of you … I will be very angry

Adi gets up from the table, moaning all the way to the study room with Maithali. He childishly sits down on a chair and folds his arms, looking at Maithali angrily.

M: now now Adi you heard what uncle said, sit properly and let's get on with this

Maithali lays out a pile of books.

Adi's phone starts ringing,

M: Adi you can talk to whoever it is later ok, we have things to get done

A: hey hey wait a minute

Maithali smiles sarcastically at Adi she slowly gets up from her sit, and walks out of the room.

Adi continues talking.

Shikar enters the room without Adi noticing, he taps Adi constantly on the shoulder, Adi just shakes it off thinking its Maithali, Shikar keeps taping

A: well you look beautiful in anything … haha …

Eventually Adi gets irritated, swings his chair round violently

A: erm I'll call you back

Hangs up the phone and looks from Shikar to Maithali, Maithali is standing next to Shikar with her arms folded like a spoiled brat, while Shikar looks like he is about to explode

A: dad actually I erm…

S: be quite I don't want to hear it

M: chachu see I told you he wouldn't listen

S: beta I do apologise on his behalf

A: but dad!!!

Shikar: I don't want to here it!!! From now I am going to teach you English

M: chachu don't worry its ok … I think we should give him one more chance

Shikar smiles at Maithali: your such a good girl, see (directed at Adi) learn something from her

Shikar looks at Adi angrily and marches out of the room

A: thanks a lot!!! What was the point of that?

M: I don't know I just felt like it I guess

A: grr now dad's going to be mad at me forever

M: well it serves you right

Maithali's phone rang

M: hello, oh yeah I totally forgot, no way, Sharad asked you that's great! No I haven't been asked by anyone yet, I can't believe I only have tomorrow to find a date…

A: excuse me!!!

M: what!!! erm kira I have to call you later there's a bug in here and I have to get rid of it… yeah… ok … speak to you later

A: you don't let me talk on the phone and here you

M: well am the teacher and you're the student so am allowed and your not

A: (rolls his eyes) so what happened? Haven't got a date for valentine party?

M: no… erm I mean what's it to you!

A: Poor maithali, who is going to ask you anyway… but hey I think Batuk, is available as always, why don't you ask him

M: shut up!!!

A: (Adi laughs at Maithali) come on Maithali, seriously if you were a little bit more relaxed and knew how to have fun then maybe someone would have asked you out… but… poor bechari have to go to the party all alone

M: Adi shut up!!! Besides who says I won't get a date for the party you just watch

A: yeah right… sure whatever you say

M: infact lets place a bid on it

A: (Adi sits back on his chair) oh god not this again

M: kya huwa? Mm… Chicken… scared you might lose AGAIN?

A: no

M: yeah right

A: ok fine… let's place the bid… if you get a date for Valentines then I will do whatever you tell me to… BESIDES wearing women's clothes and if you DON'T get a date then you will I have to do my English homework for a month.

M: a month!!!

A: look who's the chicken now

M: ok ok ok it's a deal

Both shake hands.

that was a boring part but hey hopefully it will get better 😳
