Chapter 10

Maithali couldn't believe what had happened the previous day, Adi does have a brain after all, but why is he failing English,she thought to herself, she decided to ask the English teacher before the class begins.

M: Good morning Miss…

Teacher: good morning Maithali

M: Can I ask you a question?

Teacher: of course Maithali what's the problem?

M: well basically am giving Adi tuitions for English and well he seems to know his stuff so I don't understand why his failing?

Teacher: well Adi is a bright student he knows a lot about what were doing but when it comes to doing coursework, essays on the topics he seems to not understand how to do it…

M: I see so he needs help with structuring his work

Teacher: exactly! if he just concentrated more on what I am trying to teach rather then chat to the girl next to him then he would be ok

M: oh yeah that is a problem … hmm…well I have a idea

Maithali whispers something into her teacher's ear, who after hearing the plan approves with a nod.

College bell rings and all the students start entering the class

Teacher: ek minute… before you all take your seats, you will be sitting in seated order. I have done a table showing who will sit next to who

All the kids start moaning

Teacher: and if anyone has a problem with this you may go and see the principal, understand?

The kids turn quite

A: well that's not fair!!!

Teacher: well fine we'll see what Mr Mehra has to say about it

A: you … you mean dad

The teacher nods her head up and down

A: ok ok fine who am I sitting next to

The teacher lifts her hand up and points...

A: WHAT no way!!! There is no way am sitting next to her!!! Why don't you just put me next to one of the nerds, no way no na ar no no no……….

(After awhile)

GOD I can't believe I am sitting next to you …

M: well it's not like I want to sit next to you either the only difference between us is am mature about it and obviously your not

Adi moans under his breathe. The lesson begins. He sits there bored out of his mind, and looks all around to see if there are any hot babes he can chat to but all he can see is nerds in all directions and Maithali. So he decides to listen to what the teacher is saying with the hopes of the lesson ending soon.

A: maithali … maithali… maithali

M: what!!!

A: do you have a piece of paper? I left my book at home

M: grrr here and shut up

A: thanks…. (after a few minutes) Maithali … ma…

M: what!!!

A: erm do you have a pencil? I left mine at home

M: here now for gods sake shut up

A: thanks (again after few minutes) maithali … maithali

M: (maithali looks up at the ceiling): why oh why am I tolerating this (she takes a deep breathe) what do you want now!!!

A: woh… erm… do you have a rubber? Actually I …

M: let me guess you left it at home right?

A: yeah how did you guess?

Maithali puts her hands to her face: kyu? Kyu? Kyu? Kyu!!!!

A: whats wrong with you?

M: nothing here's the rubber… do you need anything else?

A: no thanks (few minutes later ) Maithali... Maithali… hey Mets!!!

Maithali not been able to take it anymore stands up without thinking and yells from the top of her lungs: kya!! What is it now?

Adi stares at Maithali with his mouth wide open, Maithali slowly turns around to find the whole class staring at her with wide eyes, Maithali's face turns red with embarrassment, she quickly apologises and sits back down on her seat.

Adi leans towards Maithali : why do you have such a temper, its impossible to talk to you, you just get so angry unnecessarily, absolutely terrible stuff... i should give you lessons on how to keep it cool!!! just chill

Maithali clutches her hand and takes a deep breathe.
