Chapter 10

Everyone was waiting for the three Bajaj girls to come and Adi only waited for tannu to give her the gift he brought but he was blown out of his senses when he saw Maithili come down the stairs first. She was dressed in a simple white strapped dress with blue beads on the straps of the dress. It was a full lenght gown making her look elegant and gorgeous.

Something else that shocked him was how tannu dressed. He expected her to ware casual clothes but saw a young lady in a short grey and pink dress reaching her knees. She had only a little make-up on to keep the natural look.

Mallishka outlined her eyes and had clear mostly natural looking make-up on and wore a pink and black strappless dress which was full length.

The three girls looked fabulous and the Mehra boys gaped at them. Bharat gifted a rose to tannu as she came down the stairs and both went on the dance floor as always. The first dance was a slow one and bharat pulled tannu into his grasp.
She was a little bewildered that he was dancing with her and not "other" girls.
T: umm bharat…why are you dancing with me?
B: because I like you ad I don't think I need to ask to dance with you…
Tannu was surprised but smiled.
T: hey ronit!…she got out of his arms and went to ronit. Bharat frowned at both of them. Ronit took her onto the dance floor and they both danced. Adi smiled…he knew bharat was not too happy about Ronit.
A: you know I think both of them look perfect together…
Pranay joined in on the teasing…
P: don't you think they make a great couple!?!
A: I mean much better than you and tannu!
B: you just wait!
Bharat went up to tannu and whispered in her ear…she smiled and nodded. Both got a mike: ladies and gentlemen we would like to play a slow song for all the couples in the party and three main couples…Pranay and mallishka, Adi and maithili and me and tannu. AT this statement Pranay and Adi stared open mouthed at Bharat. Bharat smirked at them he went to them and whispered…
B: told you I'll get you back…now dance! The spotlight's on you!
The spot light was on six people. Mallishka, pranay, Adi, Maithili, Bharat and tannu.
Pranay put his hand out and mallishka gripped it. Both clenched their teeth and started to sway to the slow music.
Adi reluctantly put his hand on maithili's waist and she put her hand on his shoulder.
Song from kal ho na ho starts playing…

"ow pranay! Stop stamping my toes!!" she whispered in his ear.
She dug her 6 inch heels into his shoes…
"OW!!! You cow!!! He hissed back…
"shut-up!"

Adi stared at maithili thinking how beautiful she looked then he cursed himself and looked at other girls on the dance floor. Maithili got annoyed that he looked at others and not at her…

"Would you look my way!"
"oh and why would I want to do that?"
"because you idiot! you keep turning me round the wrong way and your not dancing properly!!"
"shut-up! I have no interest to dance with you anyway!"
"what makes you think I have!"

Bharat looked at tannu and smiled. He turned her round and pulled her closer. Sh smiled back

Ho…palko ke leke saaye…
Paas koi jo aaye…

Par sochlo, iss pal hai jo woh dastaan kal ho na ho

All the couples were now staring at each other and swaying softly.

Adi turned maithili round and she came close to him. Both looked into each other's eyes. Adi's lips are shown and maithili's lips are shown…both look confused with the strange feelings developing inside them other than hatred.

A smile releases from both their lips.

After the dance they both feel confused. They instantly move away from each other and go to opposite ends of the hall. Both continue walking further away from each other but since the hall is circular they end up bumping into each other as their circles come to an end
A: um…why are you following me??
He asked trying to bring back control over himself
M: I'm not following you! you're the one following me!! She said happy to argue as an escape route to all the confusion inside her.
A: huh!
M: huh!
