Ambitious man :

Actor Anoop Soni is one ambitious man. At a time when he has completed a decade in acting, his film Karkash, produced by Kamal Sadanah, has made its mark at the Molodist Festival in Kyiv -- Ukraine, Chennai International FIlm Festival and Oceans Film Festival.

But the actor's getting more greedy and is dying for more interesting roles.

"The role in the film was very challenging. It was of a typical male chauvanist, a complete contrast to what I am in real life," grins the actor.

"I am dying to do roles with a lot of substance. And would love to do a comedy flick to make people laugh!"

It's thumbs down for Mazher Sayedd :

A little birdie from the sets of Kahanii Ghar Ghar Kii just flew in to inform us about actor Mazher Sayed's recent plight. It so happened that while he was busy gyrating on a track of Shootout At Lokhandwala for a wedding sequence (between characters Pranay and Maliskha), his long toe nail chipped off! Ouch! And to add to his agony, he had to be given a tetanus shot. Oooouch!

We wish him speedy recovery as he has to run between two sets for two different shows on two different channels! Hey, we can already hear Mazher's phone ringing. And guess who is constantly buzzing to check out on his well being. His 'good friend' Moulli Ganguly!!!!

Sai Deodhar The last time I blushed Just today, the director of Sara Akash was reminding me of how I met my husband and fell in love on his sets. The last time I saw a terrific movie Paris je t'aime. I felt extremely happy watch- ing the film. The last time I cried I'm quite clumsy I hurt myself this morn- . ing... so I cried out loud. The last time I travelled by a local train Most of my work is in the suburbs, so I don't need to travel much. But I think it was four years ago. Anoop Soni The last time I blushed I'm very bad at taking compliments. If anyone ever tells me, "You're a good actor," I don't know how to react The last time I saw a terrific movie Lage Raho Munnabhai and Rang de Basanti. The last time I cried On screen, I cried after a long gap of two years in my scenes with co-star Renuka Shahane. Off screen, I haven't cried in a very long time. The last time I travelled by a local train About a year ago, during peak traffic hours I was too lazy to drive, so I hopped into a train to get to town. Deepshikha The last time I blushed My friends told me that a recent picture of mine was hotter than the interview...that really made me blush The last time I saw a terrific movie It would have to be Metro. I was cry- ing throughout the film. The last time I cried I'm a very emotional person and I believe in expressing my feelings. Two days ago, for personal reasons, I was feeling all choked up, so I just let out all my pent-up emotions. The last time I travelled by a local train During my Dalmiya College days. Tasnim Sheikh The last time I blushed My husband makes me blush everyday with the naughty things he says and does. The last time I saw a terrific movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. I loved the cast and the songs. All my husband's friends teasingly call him 'Sam.' The last time I cried I'm a generally happy person. I didn't even cry on my vidai. But I guess when my husband lost his nani, I was also broken. The last time I trav- elled by a local train When I had just started my career, I would com- mute from Mahim to Andheri sometimes. But after I got my car in 1999, I haven't boarded into a train.

T hough I was a part of the first season of Khichdi, I couldn't make time for the second season. But that hasn't made the show any less tasty for me. It's simply a feel-good, de- stresser show that you love to watch after a hard day's of work. The characters of Babuji (played by Anang Desai) and Hansa (played by Supriya Pathak) are my favourites. I love watching is Sarabai Vs Sarabai also. It gives you 'intel- ligent humour '. It's very easy to pull down people to create humour like making fun of out- of-form cricketers. But it's very difficult to have an original brand of humour. Creating situ- ations and mouthing dialogue is a tough job. MYFAVOURITESHOW : TINA PARAKH HAZRA, ACTRESS

Ali Merchant's on a high horse

Joining Vikas Manektala's (Huda of Left Right Left) community of 'bad boy on sets' is actor Ali Merchat who plays Bharat in Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki.

Talk is that gen-next wanna shine has developed a big-time attitude just because is a part of Balaji's TRP raking show. He's also picked for thinking too high of himself when it comes to the looks department and lives with a phoney belief that he's some style icon. A reliable source from the sets has also added that he in fact behaves as if he's a big star like Sakshi 'Parvati' Tanwar.

Here's our free piece of advice to Mr. Merchant: Arey dude, first make yourself highly visible in the show which is already so overcrowded, let your craft speak for itself and finally let the junta janardhan pass the verdict whether you certify to be a 'STAR'!

Ali Asgar turns producer!

Ali Asgar aka Kamal has tasted great success for his devar act in Kahaani Ghar Ghar ki. But now the actor is tuning his energies in a different direction. The versatile actor will soon don a producer's hat under a banner named Cloud 9. And the first venture is an off beat Marathi experimental film.

The untitled film was conceived by Ali himself. Directed by Ankush Bhatt, the starcast includes Sachin Pilgaonkar, Ila Bhatt, Girija Oak, Subhodh Bhave, Mohan Joshi and Ashok Saraf.

We caught with an elated Ali, who said, "It's going to be an experimental film. Sachinji is helping me produce it; actually he's my friend, philosopher and guide. For a long time, I've been wanting to do something on my own. Now, after this project lets see how things shape up."

But why has the actor decided to do a Marathi film which is not really up his sleeves? "I think Marathi film audiences' are open to try out a new film. I don't think, I can do that with a Bollywood film. Also, I am putting in my own money, so it's a bit of a risk though a calculated one. Somehow, I don't like partnerships and people bossing over me. I want to be accountable for my own project. Also, it gives me the scope to get a bit creative which I cannot do in my serial as an actor," reveals Ali

The actor, along with Kahaani will also be seen as one of the jodis in Sony's Comedy Circus, says the its a great challenge to be on this show. "I've never done theatre, so this show is proving out to be really challenging. One is just not getting the comic timing right but one has to be in sync with the studio audience, judges and audiences," says Ali

So, after seven of playing Kamal, isn't he bored of doing the same act day in and out? Elaborating on his role in Kahaani, he says, "I've been lucky in the sense that Kamal's character has lots of shades to it. Not just that but it's also one of the principle characters. Initially, he was cynical and not too sure of himself. Later, he landed up with a wife like Pallavi. Then he lost her, and for a long time he was without a wife. He's now happily married to a sensible and responsible lady.' And so the Kahaani goes on!

Parvati's home, but the Kahaani is far from over!

Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki's much awaited climax was shown yesterday as Janaki Devi (Sakshi Tanwar) was finally revealed as Parvati Agrawal. Also was revealed how the whole plot was made by Shruti and Parvati to trap Trishna Agrawal who finally admits that she is Om and Krishna's killer. Trishna is taken to jail and the favourite bahu of Agrawals Paravati is back in her Agrawal house. With everything hunky-dory in the Agarwal house, will the serial continue or is it time for it to wind up?

We spoke to Sonali Jhaffer, script writer

"No the serial won't go off the air as viewers are liking the serial very much and it's base less to talk about the serial going off the air. Now there will be celebration in the Agrawal house as wicked Krishna goes to jail. Parvati's first job is to settle all her grand children and her first priority will be to find out missing Chotu who is Gayatri's son and Paravati's grandson. Chotu will be connected to Trishna and the audience will be shocked to know under what circumstances Chotu will be found. Parvati will come to know the truth of Suyash Mehra and that will be disclosed by Narayani Devi (Aruna Irani). The most important twist which will come later in a week's time will be that Pranay, Shruti's son will be a loser in business and this will turn him to a negative character.

So when will Trishna come back from jail? "She will come back but when and how, I won't tell."

Will there be another leap? "No not soon as it will take two years for it to happen."

The audience will find more Kahaanis in Parvati's and her grandchildren's lives till then.

Top 5 wicked things that Trishna Agrawal has done

  • Killed Om Agrawal, and accused Parvati of murder trying to prove that she is mentally ill.
  • Killed Krishna Agrawal, who was her stepson as he got to know the truth about her. She killed him with the help of Rageshwari and once again she put the blame on Parvati.
  • She ill-treated her husband Kamal and tried to prove that he was mentally ill.
  • She ill-treated elderly people in the house and considered them as a burden. She also made them do the most menial of household work.
  • At time of Om 's first death anniversary Trishna had thrown a party in which beer was thrown on Om's photo.
