Richa Chadha returns to work with daughter Zuni as Ali Fazal calls her 'the most powerful creature'

Richa Chadha is back on a film set after nearly two years, and she isn’t alone. Her daughter Zuni is part of the routine now. The actor shared a detailed post on Instagram, where she spoke about stepping into work again, the slow mental and physical recovery after childbirth, and the unexpected struggles she faced during the break.

Her post included a set of photos and videos that captured her current life as a new mother. The first video showed Richa in the makeup chair, while little Zuni sat comfortably on her lap, holding a brush and trying to apply makeup on her mother’s face. The moment had a soft warmth to it and reflected how closely the two are attached.

Richa wrote that although she wanted to resume work earlier, her body and mind needed more time. She also mentioned the emotional strain after childbirth and spoke openly about her mental health journey. She added that returning to work became tougher due to professional setbacks, saying some people in the industry operate from insecurity and rarely stand by their words.

She shared a picture with her circle of women she calls her support system. The group included Shabana Azmi, Divya Dutta, Dia Mirza, Urmila Matondkar, Konkona Sensharma, Tannishthaa Chatterjee, Vidya Balan and others. She also explained that her daughter’s name, Zuni, means moon in Kashmiri.

In her note, Richa wrote, “On Sunday, I went back to work after nearly 2 years. As much as I would have liked to get back sooner, my body, my mind wasn’t ready at all.” She added that she forgives those who were unkind but does not forget. “Are you scared? Good,” she wrote, addressing those who she felt wronged her.

She ended her message by sharing her discomfort with the pressure to constantly create online content. “I have a life. I miss the days when IG used to be a place where you uploaded photos of what you ate,” she wrote, questioning the purpose behind oversharing.

Ali Fazal commented on the post, “My love, you are the most powerful creature I know walking this earth.”
