Divi,
Honestly, for me the Jury's still out on this one.
This is not the first time that Jalaal has shouted at Jo, but, the timing makes it harsher, though it is because of her pregnancy and not Atifa. Back in those days it was said that pregnant women were supposed to be in a happy place, as this had an impact on the foetus. Even today, working women are asked to take it easy during pregnancy.
Ruqaiyya's character looked stunted yesterday, more like an ostritch, get a drink if you are down and feel happy that Jodha beghum has been left out, even if she herself has been left out. I guess she should remember that during her fake pregnancy she was basically couped up inside her hojra.
One thing is Jalaal is disturbed, that Atifa is mis-treated by her husband, but, what why does he take her outside on hunting trips? For pep talks? He should plant her Jo's hojra for a week, she'll start giving bhashans on feminism to her hubby so bad, he'll slap himself.
I loved Jodha's baby voice when talking to Jalaal in his hojra in the last scene. And I also loved Hoshiyar's sassy tone when telling Ruqs even she had not been invited for the hunt.
I think Khy will manage to escape and reach Jo's hojra, but, maybe in a twist, Jalaal may also end up there, and hence lead to the execution/punishment as per the spoilers.
All in all an interesting episode...
Good post! Loved the Schrodinger's Cat experiment reference.
