This is how i interpret the reel ruqaiah condition
Jalal was her only friend from birth(or age of 7)
She has no other family like other begums of jalal be it father, mother, sister, brother, neice and nephews
Jalal is her only closest relation or relative, not just an husband but cousin brother and friend. Jodha and other begums have only one relation with jalal as wife they are not related or friends etc so their expectation will be less. For Ruqaiah jalal is her friend, husband, lover, mom, dad, brother, sister everything. That i think is biggest diff bet Ruqaiah and other begums
Hamida though related to her has not shown affection to her from childhood(atleast no scene has been shown)
Hamida always praising salima and jodha while ruqaiah who is with her from 14 years never been praised once for anything(not shown)
Salima being her sister has never shown spending time with her. Of course ruqaiha is rude to her but so is she to akbar too. But in real life if siblings are rude few times we may fight but not ignore them completely like salima or akbar does do we? We fight and then forgive and become normal not keep that anger in mind and avoid them.
Hence when a human has no one he clings on to the only one available. Dubne wale ko thinke ka sahara hai bas Ruqaiah is on thinke ka sahara so she is getting desperate. Her desperation will end when someone who loves her genuinely will arrive and that is salim, because kids will love unconditionally and without expectation. Till now Ruqaiah has not got such love from anyone she thinks Akbar can give her that hence running after him. The moment she gets another human to give that unconditional love she will let go depending on Akbar and let go her insecurity
The real Ruqaiah never had these problems. Yes akbar married many and was a casanova but he retained the close bond with ruqaiah all life so she did not behave insecurly like a nur jahan or roshanara. Of course the real ruqaiah also must have had issues with akbar being disloyal to her hence preferred burying with her father and grandfather babar and not husband akbar. the real ruqaiah also had a salim and khurram to love and care for her unconditionally.
Lonliness, feeling unwanted and unloved is the hardest thing in world. People who are cheated by spouse etc die younger and get grave diseases like cancer, etc. This is scientifically proved. Not sure if this was true of 16th century but to a certain extent it must have been true. Imagine the huge mental and physical health imapct of this situation. Atleast if you have a child you can live for him or her but if someone has no one how will they live or for whom will they live? Who shall give them emotional support when they are low or unwell or sad and upset or feeling lonely?
Can Ruqaiah share everything with a Hoshiyar? Definetly not. Hence she is chasing jalal in serial
