The slave girls serving them might not, but the rest definitely did.

As for Jagat Gosain, according to Abhay, she was one of Jehangir's most loved wives-Even after Noor.

Is it worth to hope he will show up at your doorstep one day? Is that luxury all worth it to be one of the Emperor's wife when you are in that state? i feel sorry for these woman. Not all were MUZ, Noor Jahan or Mumtaz.I rather be a pauper's wife who has all the love of her husband than being one of his thousand. I truly feel sorry for these women.

I don't think the real Jodha died of heartbreak, at all, in reality she was greatly respected & loved by the Mughals.

She was considered to be a greatly spiritual lady & was deeply respected by the entire Mughsl clan. A lot of important Mughal events took place in her palace.

It could be that, she herself wasn't interested after Akbar's death. I don't think she took active political interest even when Akbar was alive, preceding to be the astute business woman she was & using her GREAT wealth to build structures, help the poor etc.

Did you know that her fortune could rival every small European nation in the world? She was the richest lady at court & the Mughals were the richest people in the world anyway!!!

She used to issue orders by the name of Wali-Nimat Begum which literally means Gift of God/ Spiritual Companion.

A woman as respected & loved like Jodha , could never be ignored. She chose to make herself be ignored. Lot of difference between the two.

@Sy: Of course it is not & am wondering what in my post made it seem so.

Ela said that "not all women in the harem lived in luxury." I was merely saying that all DID.

They had ALL the material possessions, stupendous wealth & luxury, yet they had hollows for hearts & total absence of Happiness

Sometimes when I think of them I feel like crying. They were immensely wealthy PAUPERS.

@Ela: I don't believe that. The concubines? Or slaves?
And if the tour guides told you that, I wouldn't believe them either. They're all embellishing their stories!

I was right here , but I've lost interest in the show. Its utter NONSENSE. I only come here for you guys.
