I understand... at the end of a long day, we all want to relax and see something positive on television...This is actually a very good human trait as it reflects the fact that we feel better when we see other people happy and in love ( thank God for that) but it is unfair to bash a character when that does not happen...We see Jalal softening towards Jodha and the hopeless romantic in want her to start responding in the next episode...we get agitated when she continues with her rude behavior...If nothing that I have written above helps justify her reaction...Please bash the CV's and not the character. The real Jodha does not deserve it

If someone criticizes me after 500 years for something I never did ... I don't care... But whatever little we know about this Rajput queen Jodha/Heer Kunwer/Harka Bai , she must be getting restless in her grave. After living in Agra harem for 60 years, she deserves peace... Let's give her that.

I completely agree with this post
thanks
at this point of the time this positive note on jodha is needed

mostly the words and the reaction of jodha carries over the silent jalal
jalal has almost started the journey of his love life, but jodha is still in her own cocoon
as you pointed out that her subconscious mind might be dreadful about jalal ignoring her once his need is fulfilled.

every relation goes through testing time, this is one such time for akdha
thanks once again for this post

Beautiful analysis.

Would like to point out that Jalal has a long way to go before becoming Akbar. He makes mistakes too, we all remember the old ones including suspecting Jodha of being the cause of Ruq's miscarrige. But he recently, very recently, has played a cat and mouse game with her - I touched you, I touched you not - when she, Jodha herself does not remember the happenings of that night in the tent. Additionally, he accuses her of infidelity and carrying another man's child. How else is she supposed to behave if not with grina? She does not know the evil machinations of the Moghul Sultanate, she does not know that he is now privy to new information (salima's vouching for Jodha's character), even then his trust is not blind and implicit, he wants to test the pregnancy by giving Jodha that drink that Salima brings her.

We, the viewers, may know about the inner questionings of Jalal's mind, Jodha is not aware of them. All she sees is a man vacillating, saying one moment that he slept with her and the next moment that he did not.

Why too should Jodha allow this man to touch her? He has countless wives, forced her into marriage, had her fiance killed, admitted he wanted to clip her wings, been the root cause of her sorry plight, and he throws crumbs of niceness at her with an attitude that is hard to decipher between mockery and genuine kindness. The fact that she is aware he is attracted to her probably further scares her of being violated, her personal body space is all she can call her own in Agra, and she is rightfully wary and vigilant about it.

Yes, we the viewers would like to watch a happy love story but I doubt if it ever was that even in history. A man could not have loved all his 3 queens equally and have had physical relationships with other women and had children through them after he had Salim if he loved only one. He may have accorded her special respect because she was the mother of his heir and his begum but I doubt there ever was the grand amor the beginnings of which are being depicted on the show. The show is a treat to watch though so I try to refrain from drawing parallels to history.

👏
Enjoyed reading your analysis of Jodha. Very true. Imagine living in Harem with all those people who are out to get you. I get tired from a few and she has hundreds to deal with. 😃

I agree with each word of what you wrote. I have always found justice in Jodha's rudeness too! But the people who dislike such rudeness, may not have the insight to validate with such psychoanalysis!
Another parallel that the CVs drew without intending to was when Ruquaiyya did not inform Jalal about presence of Adham in Harem just to enjoy Jodha and Moti's plight and later to save her skin from Jalal's ire!
Easy to guess what Jodha would have done in similar circumstances!
Another part that puzzles the members here is that she is so less'political' and having grown up in a political family and not being diplomatic/political, etc. is why people do not like her.
But i really appreciate her positiveness and your beautifully written peice. Now that you have done the brave act of writing, please continue to do so
👍🏼

Wow.. You echoed my thoughts and impression of Jodha.
Except you have laid it down much much more beautifully than I would have.
Am a Jalaal-Jodha fan but find myself defending or explaining Jodha 's actions as I see a lot of judgement passed on Jodha.
If one were to put themselves in Jodha's shoes they would understand her plight
While she has a good heart and have several virtues, she also has some flaws- This is what makes this story so beautiful and different from others... She is not the perfect woman as in other shows...
She is human and lets not forget that it is THIS Jodha that Akbar is falling for... Be it her temper or her questions...he does find it endearing...
We are here to see the journey where both Jalaal and Jodha become better personalities as their relationship deepens.
