MUZ had the power to command 12,000 cavalries is a wide known fact, and she was a very good horse woman herself. Aurangzeb 's sisters besides Jahanara lacked any intelligence. Roshanara was too hot headed , and temperamental. Can u please specify which sister you are talking about???😊

i will grill only to the extent of your post. got some time today. as of now, i need a clarification of sorts for one point.

you mentioned Mariam Zamani/Heer Kunwari to be the "only" lady/queen in entire history of mughal empire to command a cavalry of 12,000. but according to my knowledge, a sister of Aurangzeb also commanded/handled an army unit.

so your statement is irking me a bit. would you clarify it dear ?
i enjoy debating history. seems, you too are in same ship.

regards
sara

Hi..😊

Yes..Mariam Zamani/Heera Kunwari was the "ONLY" lady or queen in the "ENTIRE" Mughal Sultanate to command a cavalry of 12,000. There is not an iota of doubt in this fact.

I have the following references(though i do not need, it's a well known fact.)::

1. The Imperial records of the the Indian Historical Comission...
2. Journal of the American Oriental Society, Findly, p. 227-238.

BTW, VARIOUS foreign travellers/ archives, refer Mariam Zamani as the Queen Mother of Hindustan (a.k.a. Malika-e-Hindustan).

[I think this is another revelation.!..!..]
[Had not written this in any of my threads till date...!..!..].
[But this is actually true..!..She had this title.]
[There was a debate in the forum IF SHE had the 'auhda' of 'Malika'. So, writing beforehand..!..!..]
[It will come later on show.]

P.S.-> It's Malika, not Mallika...

Regarding, sister of Aurangzeb commanding an army or any such thing, same as Mariam Zamani, is "NOT" correct AT ALL..!!..It was daughter...!!!..
I know you must have read this episode in the Royal Archives(probably)..(as you have ASI BG ..!..)

Even i read it, but do not remember the exact event..😕..
But, only this much that a daughter(or daughter of one of Aurangzeb's brother)..tried encouraging soldiers before a battle, by her speech where she said-->"The honor of the Chagtai's is same as that of Rajputs."..That's why this incident is mentioned there.

And, that was the time when either Jats attacked Agra, while Aurangzeb was busy in handling Marathas in Deccan.(1691)..????
If you know, clarify it.?..?..I am doubtful on the EXACT episode..😕..

I feel this clears your query.!.!.😊

@Syria
BTW, You found the character traits of Aurangzeb's sisters..!!.😲.
Seems you are definitely going to grill about others along with MUZ's history.!.😆
Carry on..!..👍🏼

Thnx.

History intrigues me too. I had no intention to write all these threads here. I researched only for my satisfaction, to find is there any reality in this story, and to my shock found more than what i ever expected..!!..
I wrote this first thread here, myself as i somehow saw some posts here totally spewing fake stuff. After that i thought to leave. But, got many facts from forum members as well, so i decided to continue, as i get to know more, by staying here. 😊.(forum is awesome.)

Regarding, distortion, i have no words to tell you the amount of distortion in their history. Will have a separate thread on it also, if time permits. But, read this one for time being. A few more people who are researching on them have found the same.

Regarding, CV's, i am with you, though sometimes they do go overboard, but it's fine overall. Many lesser known events on show can be traced back to history. Even then, they get unabated bashings for "EVERY" point.

Yes, i have read that book by Alex. I read the Rulers of the World(Part-3 on Akbar), skipped Raiders from the North(Part-1) and Brothers at War(Part-2). But, i repented reading this book. SHEER NON-SENSE!!. Except a few events.

BTW, you do not need to come to Delhi SPECIFICALLY for this. Every state government has their respective historical archives. Though, Delhi has maximum resources.
😊
