JDJ is based off the UK/US versions as you pointed out somewhere here...the setup is the same as well. Take some D-list, has been celebrity...you know the type that had their 15 minute, or are still in the news for some sort of gig, and pair them up with a professional dancer. Fair enough.

But I think on the Indian version, many of the contestants come across as trained since most Indians train in dance growing up. So it might seem as if the show is using trained dancers, though I don't think it's something that's deliberate.

again sorry to Salman's fan ,, his comment !!!!!!!!! would he say the same if he was the winner last season ????? get the answer plz
Drashti had a busy week and guys I understand ur concern towerds her if luck in her side she will bounce back next week

I think what's pretty upsetting is discussing this topic over and over..

Jhalak has already set a precedent of having trained dancers on the show. This season, they started out with two and now three after the WCs. Everything is coming down to the wire now as strong contestants remain:

-Drashti --> excellent popularity and great dancing skills
-Lauren --> fair popularity and excellent dancing skills
-Mukti --> fair popularity and good dancing skills (this is based on epis so far and not including the performance this week)
-Sumant-Sonali --> fair popularity and excellent dancing skills
-Sid --> extreme popularity and fair dancing skills
-KVB --> good popularity and good dancing skills
-Shaan --> good popularity and great dancing skills (again, not including this week's epi)
-Sana --> good popularity and great dancing skills

At this point, this season's jhalak is very interesting. There are obviously more trained contestants but those contestants have to work really hard for the votes. The "untrained" contestants (whom I don't see as truly untrained as almost all contestants - with the exception of Shaan - do dance shows, have taken dance classes or have been exposed to dancing in some manner) have the backing of their fans (who do vote for their favorites notwithstanding the performance). There are some of these contestants who have remained in the show only for this fan backing (as I believe that contestants more worthy have been eliminated) and some have worked really hard to show some really good dancing along with having the fan back-up.

Now, it's coming down to the wire as the really good dancers and really popular contestants remain. Who will go further? This will be interesting to watch...

The above is simply my opinion... I enjoy Jhalak and respect each and every contestant. We, as fans of the contestants and viewers of the show, should respect them also.

JDJ is a concept for dancing with the celebrity.

But to tell the truth I haven't heard of Mukti.RJ Mantra,Sana before Jhalak and even Lauren.

I think it would become quite boring with only non dancers in the show as if trained dancers come and do some thing big this inspires the non trained dancers to practice more hard and give their best.

The concept has been created keeping the viewers in mind.

No worries, it happens, people usually don't realize their own flaws and project them onto others, it's called psychological projection. So no worries, you aren't the problem here, except for being the target of projection

Very rightly added. Now add with that, how to write proper Englih too...😆 Add another "Idiot" 😆

I don't think channel selects celebrity with your consultation.

You can ask for clarification on their celebrity status to the channel, instead of just assuming something on your knowledge (?)

If they weren't fulfilling the celebrity status requirements, the participants would have objected before you... 😆

Did someone just say Sana isn't celebrity status, in their humble opinion. Does this forum always have people making such outlandish remarks? 😆

Sana is the poster child for the type of celebs these shows go after.

Wow, I am amazed that this thread. I have been a silent member of this forum and just joined Lauren AT yesterday. I had seen people throwing personal remarks at others for having a viewpoint, so disappointing I must say.

I agree with what Shelly, Sonia and McNinja have written, this is dancing with the stars which means stars coming from various backgrounds with varied dancing experience. I don't understand why people have to pick on whether one is dancer or non dancer especially when we know everyone stands on different levels when it comes to dancing and popularity. So how about for a change to defend one's favorite, focus on the dancing we see on the stage than trying to nitpick on things which aren't even relevant or is it because certain some got low score, all of a sudden Lauren is a problem 🤔

And thanks for making me laugh about Sana, looks like someone hasn't seen Kuch Kuch Hota Hain 😆...Though I have to agree with that member since weak dancers like DD, Sid are indeed boring for me on the stage. Lauren, Mukti, Sana, kids, make me wanna watch the show these days.
