Just recently, Mrunal Thakur was in the news for an old clip in which she appeared to body shame actress Bipasha Basu and now, the actress has found herself at the center of yet another controversy, this time due to a resurfaced video where she speaks about turning down a major Bollywood film that later became a blockbuster.

In the clip, which has gone viral on Reddit, Mrunal opens up about walking away from a film that turned out to be a turning point for the actress who eventually starred in it. Without naming anyone, Mrunal speaking about rejecting films said, “So many. I said no, honestly, because I was not ready. Controversies hojayegi. It became a super hit and did help the female actress to reach there. But, then I realised if I would have done that film at that point of time I would have lost myself.”

She goes on to add, “Then she is not working at the moment, but I am, is itself a victory because I do not want instant gratification, instant recognition, instant fame because anything that comes instantly goes away instantly.”

While Mrunal did not take any names, many social media users are convinced that she was referring to Anushka Sharma, who starred in Sultan opposite Salman Khan. Fans quickly recalled that Mrunal was initially considered for the role but was later replaced. Salman Khan himself had once revealed that she was approached but did not fit the physical profile required for a wrestler.

''that last part was unnecessary shade at the actress , she really is a mean girl,'' a user wrote. ''I used to think she's such a good actress (in telugu) and now she's just a salty mean girl,'' wrote another.

One user also called out the actress for speaking about lack of opportunities and wrote: She has such mean girl energy who seems always jealous of others , also after saying all this then she cries that she doesn't get opportunities
