I'm opening this up for some healthy discussion, so please keep it healthy.

Is it really fair for Shakti to be in this competition? Don't get me wrong. I love the girl and I think she is one of the most talented dancers we have today. She's brilliant in every angle and we've seen that by her winning the DID crown. But just how fair is to the other contestants, some who have little to no dance knowledge? No dance knowledge vs trained dancer...there's a big difference there and one has the advantage over the other.

Reality shows also have the history of never being fair when crowing the winner. So chances of Shakti winning are rather slim because hardly do the deserving win.

But my question to you all is that on a fairness level is this a fair decision to include a winner of another reality dance show? At first I thought she was going to be a choreographer which would of made better sense. But when I found out she was a contestant I didn't think that was fair. Everyone deserves a chance at winning, even though hardly the deserving win. But when you put her up against some of the other contestants it is without a doubt she's a clear winner.

This is an interesting question because she is most definitely the most talented contestant they've had. She's beaten a lot of the choreographers in DID Season 2 already. But at the same time, she's a contestant because she's a celebrity, not because she's a dancer.

They didn't have her on the show because of her DID fame, but because she's also an actress. Last season, Lauren, who is a trained professional dancer was a contestant for the same reason. She acted in Remo's ABCD.

And I think it's a good thing that they bring in professionals every year. It makes everyone else step up their game. You don't see the kind of improvement in everyone in any other dance reality show. Why? Because the stakes are high in JDJ.

I guess I'm asking this question more so because she has won a reality show already. In Lauren's case how many people outside America really knew her? Shakti has gone above and beyond in many aspects and she's already won a dancing title. Some of these contestants coming in have little to no dance knowledge and when you put them alongside someone with immense dancing abilities it is unfair. To be trained in a certain form is one thing and to be a winner already and to have proven your abilities as a dancer already is another thing.

We all know the history of the winners of reality show. Less than 20% of the time does a deserving contestant win.

I believe it's totally fair for Shakti to participate :)

The chick's got a HUGE Fan following and she's not the only trained one this season there's Mouni and Andy as well :)

Shakti is an actress therefore a celebrity she's got a daily in her kitty which is a hit where she plays the central character and she has managed a huge fan following for herself :)

Plus it's a trend in a Jhalak to have a trained dancer and this season there are 3 :)

hello,

firstly the pattern of the show has been like this through out...whether it is fair or unfair is pretty debatable... more than the championship JDJ has been based on popularity... and we all know that results were based on popularity rather than the actual caliber. However what i think is it is pretty fair for all because every participant gets equal exposure and some of them do perform for becoming more popular specially those who people hardly aware off... and the others are basically for TRP masala to be honest... at the end of the day it is entertainment. The more the popular face is the more TRP they will get... the more there is talent till the end of the show the more TRP... yes sometimes it is sad to see the much more deserving candidate loose but kya kare this is media...and everything is fair as far as TRP is concerned...

Exactly mouni is trained too just cuz Shakti is winner if a reality show we can't say Mouni is not trained so I think it's fair if from last year Lauren was brought so this year Shakti and mouni are

You got a thoughtful answer in the first reply.

Shakti Mohan wasn't roped in because she was a dancer but because she is a Celebrity.

Jhalak is about Dancing with Stars and it would be unfair if Stars like Shakti who have made it big already aren't allowed because they excel in dancing.

Like Andy already said, if the show is strictly about dancing then give the trophy to her.

Jhalak winner sadly isn't decided on how well they danced but by 50% public votes.

Shakti isn't a face of big channel's telly soaps bt whatever fans she got was for her talent.

Almost all the contestants have a basic knowledge of dancing. This was said by the judges themself.
