The last line, was all I was saying. And yes! Lets keep expectations too low!

I just want to make it clear I love Shakti. One talented chick for sure.

Personally I feel that they should change the format of the show. I mean why do you have choreographers? These choreographers have immense dance knowledge and are there to put together a dance. I know a great dancer doesn't mean a great choreographer. My point isn't about trained dancer as much as it is about giving fair chances to every contestant. There are have been many trained dancers on reality shows. That's not where I was getting at though.

Of course even she has to go through a lot of tests in this Jhalak journey. She has to prove herself in many ways. Though I still stand by my point that its unfair to SOME of the contestants that she is miles ahead on the game than they are.

The show is set up so that the contestant "improves strength to strength," like Karan said in the opening ceremonies. It's not just about the contestant, it's about what he or she learns from his or her choreographer. It's a team effort. That's why they are paired up like that. And in any case, you can't really expect the contestant to choreograph his/her own dance, now can you? That would be even more unfair because non dancers won't even know where to start.

And I think it is a good thing that you have non dancers against people like Shakti because, like I said before, it makes the non dancers step up their game. In NO other dance reality is there as much improvement in each and every contestant as there is in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. And that is because the competition is tougher.

I think as a LCD, it's unfair.

But at the same time, what would make it fair? If every contestant had 0 dancing expereince? Or had two left feet?

At the end of the day, the votes will decide it all, so it balances out in the end.
Good luck to all!

Especially this man!

Personally if given the chance I would jump at the opportunity to choreography my own dance. Sometimes when I see certain moves, I think to myself I can do better choreography than that. 😆 No, but I understand what your saying.

Which brings about another debate. How are the contestants & choreographers assigned? Random or is there a process behind that? Because what if a very talented contestant gets paired up with a very weak choreographer? Let's face it - not all the choreographers are on the same level of dancing. Some are better than others. So does that make it fair?

Lol same! Especially when it comes to classical/semiclassical dance. I think they try to westernize it a bit too much.

And now, that is a spot on question. And I think this is one of the places where it is totally unfair. Because you see famous choreographers getting famous celebrities. Shampa always gets popular male television actors like Sushant Singh Rajput (during his Pavitra Rishta days), Gurmeet Choudhary, and now Karan Tacker. And even Salman, while he was a choreographer, often got paired with the most-likely-to-win female celeb like Isha from season 5 and Drashti from season 6. I think that they create jodis that they know people will vote for. And if there are two extremely popular people, they'll pair them together.

I know. They ruin my classical dancing. 😵 Westernize to the max!

Shampa isn't with Karan this season is she? Karan has Suchitra I think. Shampa is one of the talented choreographers in my opinion though. If that's how they pair, isn't that a bit unfair?

Ugh, and can you believe that they said that classical dance does not take a back seat? It totally does! They had ONE Odissi performance from Ekta, ONE kathak performance from Mukti, and ONE Bharatanatyam one from Lauren, and then they did Hip Hop like twenty times. Sirf naam ke liye classical karte hain.

And shit, you're right. Shampa has Ashish Sharma this year. And yes, she's incredibly talented, but I think my point still stands. He has a massive fandom because of Rang Rasiya. And yes, it's very unfair.

Classical dance has been lost amongst all of this hip hop crap. Okay sorry I'm being harsh. But I'm a huge classical fan and I never get to see pure classical anymore. It just cuts me deep down.
