Either you are not confident, confident or over confident, there certainly is nothing about confidence which is concept oriented. So lets get that straight and agree that you are questioning her confidence.

I do not see anything wrong with her confidence. She has a mind and speaks it loud and clear and those who have a problem with that should stay away and not listen to her. There is no doubt that she dances better than all of them, even the people who are esteemed judges have given her the best dancer tag and the points to show. The same was the case with Shweta salve.

Just to please people they cant start dancing badly and then act dumb and beg for votes, can they ? As far as the faces go, well I agree to her expression not being correct but that again does not link it to confidence. Here the topic is about her confidence and all people can do here is not get over her facial expressions while dancing !

People here are pointing out names like Shabana azmi, konkana sen, sushmita (oh puhleeez !!!) Sen as being confidence. I dont know what 'right kind of confidence' do they posses. Sushmita is such an attention seeker and keeps self praising in all her interviews (she did not let sanjay dutt speak a word when they were on koffee with Karan). Just throwing some off beat names does not make them right confident and sandhya as wrong confident.

When Hrithik says in Stardust that quote 'he has the best male body in India' or when SRK proclaims 'I am the Best' without an iota of modesty, its taken well and they are labeled as role models or Cool Dudes. BUt in a Dance contest the most consistent scorer (as per judges) even dares to think that she dances better than others and she immediately becomes arrogant and 'wrongly confident'. What a pseudo & hypocritical world we are living in.

yes confidence is a concept in phychology.calling "over-confidence" as "confident" is a misconception !

u said "She has a mind and speaks it loud and clear and those who have a problem with that should stay away and not listen to her." if u really practise what u preach...then take it as i have a mind of my own and speak it loud n clear...if u have a problem with that then stay away n do not reply.

i dont know what shah rukh has to say...if i had heard him saying that on a interview then i would have called him over-confident and arrogant...pls compare apple to apples and oranges to oranges...just becoz some other person calls shahrukh a cool dude n role model...dont imagine on your own that even i do...

and make silly statements in the end like...how hypocritical the world is !

though the topic is about sandhya's over-confidence...but the first post also speaks about her expressions being too out of place and unpleasant...expression are a very important part of a performance...hence that doesnt make her the best dancer in my opinion...i only hope she sees her own face sometimes when she is dancing to know how repelling it looks...so that she stops blowing her own trumpet and behaving so conceited

Should I go ahead and make a separate post stating why I find her irritating? I know there is no point doing it and I don't want to hurt her fans. This is a dance show, and we should concentrate on that. BTW, I think Mona last year was far better than Prachi this year. Mona has that "X factor" in her, which is lacking in Prachi. "No offence to fans." This is my POV.

hey u r most welcome to start a thread if u have something to say against prachi or whoever...u have freedom of thought and speech...we have learnt that character analysis is an important part of literature...whether for shakespeare's characters or today's tele world ! why should anyone be hurt with someone else's opinion?

^^^ I totally agree with you. Being over-confident is over-confident - as much as I think SRK is a great actor, I find him arrogant, especially when he makes comments on being "King Khan" or "The Badshah of Bollywood" - that is plain old arrogance😕 You cannot call it anything else.

Why is it that we cannot say that Sandhya is over-confident - because it is true - it is never a nice trait in anyone - whether you are a celebrity or a normal person. Over-confidence looks even worse, when you depend on an audience to vote on you and keep you in teh competition.

And why is it that everyone jumps to teh conclusion that it is because we don't liek confident women???? There are many confident women that I look up to - who speak their minds and survive in a mans world - but they haven't done that with arrogance or over-confidence.

I was making an observation - I also said that I don't dislike confident women. There is a difference between confidence and over-confidence, and Sandhya is over-confident. It is not a nice trait, whether it is in a man or a woman.

sweetie I write only few lines because you are here to write pages after pages. 😉

I think it is how she portrays herself to the public people make judgements just on that... which is really sad because reality TV can make anything of a person.. be it sugary sweet or overtly confident... I am sure we all know how it works back there.. after watching Indian reality TV it sure has changed my perception of reality TV!

This in reply to Denver Diva, since you are the originator of the topic, I just want a clarification, your topic speaks about Sandhya's confidence and they you go on to say she has bad facial expressions while dancing (i agree) but how the bloody hell is facial expression while dancing got anything to do with Confidence ??? Just coz you cant justify you theory of 'concept of confidence', you are diverting your original topic to her facial expressions being wrong. To which all I can say is that I agree her expressions are not the right ones and she has a open mouth while dancing (like gurpreet from Nach Baliye 2) which is not good.
However I would say there is 'nothing like a concept of confidence'. Anyways you have clarified that you find her over confident, well to all his own. I have no problems if any of you find her OVER CONFIDENT coz its upto your perception.
What I questioned you (which you did not answer) is that you threw in a few names of Confident People (who as per you are having right confidence) which included Sushmita, Shabana, Konkana etc. (all arty actors, just coz they are arty does not make them confident, anyways thats your perception) but all I asked is that how is their confidence 'correct one' specially sush as she is the single most irritating acctress who has a verbal diahorrea. Just because she changes BF's every season, does that make her confident correctly ??
I am only curious to you the difference between right & wrong confidence and since you have given examples of each category, I have gotten more curious.

And all those who on this topic have mentioned Prachi, well she should not be in this discussion as it has to do with Sandhya and her confidence level. But since most of you have mentioned her and her re-entry making an attitude change with Sandhya. Well every normal human being would have a changed attitude on Prachi's re-entry (although i like her) but this is a competition and if one of the contestant is so blatantly favoured that the rules are bended to bring her back and not even give others a chance to get back the same way, then it obviously will have an attitude change with all the other surviving guys.

I now get what does the topic starter mean when she say 'right type of confidence', I think the right type of confidence is that confidence which someone gets when he knows that he/she is above the contest and its rules and has an unfair advantage over the others. Is this the RIGHT TYPE OF CONFIDENCE ??? I think even General Musshrraf has the similar right kind of confidence coz before going into any election for president he knows that the results are in his own hands and he is above the constitution & Law of the country. Exactly - RIGHT TYPE OF CONFIDENCE.

I just think Sandhya has very bindas attitude and that is by no means over confidence. I do find her facial expressions are little weird. However she is good dancer.
