Sandhya Mridul seems to have got the concept of confidence all wrong.i hated her comments when she was asked what she feels about sonali's public voting being stronger than hers....she went on saying the judges already knows who is good...i cannot please anyone like others do to get votes etc etc...the way she spoke and her face expressions were ugly i felt...she even said i will behave the way i like...if the public doesnt like it ..saanoo ki (meaning i care a damn in punjabi)...in all her statements she tries to say that it is very obvious by now that she is the best dancer...

what sandhya doesnt realize is that this is not a mere talent show where we are looking for the best dancer...this is not boogie boogie...this is a dance show for celebrities...where celebs heavily bank on their popularity to win...people here not only want to see them dance...but are also affected by how these celeb carry themselves and what they come across as...

sandhya is way to arrogant...she sure needs a crash course on humility...and needs to stop blowing her own trumpet. also she needs to somehow get rid of those hard and unpleasant expressions she has on her face all the time...she seems more like a tigress hunting for prey than seductive in her dances.

One, watch the video again. She did not make this comment in response to Sonali getting more votes. Two, if the girl speaks her mind and does not believe in sweet to get votes, I will say she is a real rocking girl. Some might consider her cool attitude, but then that is new--mostly, people prefer women to be dainty. Sandhya is an antithesis of the how a woman is *supposed* to be. I love her attitude, and don't find her over confident. If she were, she would not work hard on her performances.

I actually have to agree - as much as I think that she is a great dancer, I for some reason just do not like her, which really annoys me, because I think she's a great dancer.

Last year, it was teh same thing with Shveta Salve - She was a fantastic dancer, but as teh competition advanced, and she started getting better marks, she became too arrogant, which really put me off her - especialy teh way that the judges praised her all the time, comparing her to Madhuri Dixit - which to me is no comparison at all. Shveta can NEVER be compared to Madhuri Dixit.

This is the same thing with the judges this year - Sandhya is their favourite, and because of that they do not pick up on her flaws - She has terrible expressions when she dances, and dance is not just about how well you move, but teh over-all performance and EXPRESSION. I think the Judges should point this out to Sandhya, but never do, which is frustrating as hell, because as technically perfect as her dance is, visually it is let down by her expressions. Dance is both about the technical and visual, and Sandhya has the techinical part right but not the visual.

I do not dislike Sandhya because I don't like confident women - but there is a difference between confidence and arrogance - and Sandhya is arrogant. At the end of teh day, the public look at both dance and personality, and you should have a likable personality, which I am sorry to say Sandhya does not have.

I don't mean to offend Sandhya supporters, but this is just my personal opinion.

no where have i said that i have a problem with someone being cool! all i said was that "sandhya has got the concept of being confident all wrong"...i would suggest u watch the video again in your free time...may be u agree with me that being honest doesnt mean being arrogant or over-confident or go on national tv to mention that she doesnt wanna act sweet to get votes like others (that's sabotage). she doesnt have to oil massage the audience...but she can stop thinking no end of herself...

honesty and humility can be found in the same person...they r not contradicting qualities at all!

I really don't see why people like Sandhya and Shweta last year were called over confident. Just because they are not the goody-goody sugary sweet types like Prachi and Mona, that does not make them bad people. I think people are taking confidence for arrogance.

Sandhya and Shweta last year are more the bindaas type girls who speak their mind. They are not sugary sweet. This did result in Shweta getting less votes last year though she was the better dancer. This is a talent show, not a Big Brother type personality show, so definitely the best dancer, in this case Sandhya should win. But as with all reality shows, the most popular celeb will win the show.

Society is such that they can never accept a confident and defiant woman. A woman who defies the age old rules of the society and leads her life as per her wish. The worst part is that this is true world over where if a woman is confident she is termed arrogant and bitchy. It gets even worse in our country because more than the males it is the women who find other confidant women as over confident and label them arrogant/bitchy. As they say - Ek aurat hi aurat ki dushman hai. This is absolutely true.
When Ronit acts arrogant or when Jay acts oversmart and all buttery or when Mika acts the way Mika acts, not many say a word. But when Sandhya (who by the way dances much better than any of them) has something to say, she is termed arrogant.
Lets face it, people world over want women to be submissive, passive and regressive (as shown in the balaji soaps). In a banarasi sadi, laden with jwellery, big mangal sutra, lots of sindoor, all the traditions and always ready to shed tears by the buckets !

Thats the reason why a Mona always wins over Shweta (inspite dancing only 10% of what her opponent does) by playing a dumb wit submissive girl. And hence a Prachi will always win over Sandhya.

Although I must admit that I like Prachi as she is a sweet kid, but unfortunately its not what appeals to the audience. What appeals to them is not the innocent, bubbly young girl called prachi but the sari clad, traditional, submissive, teary eyed BANI from Kasam Se.

Not just in India but even in US-that is the case. In fact most of the research I was talking about is done in US. A confident woman= "what an uptight, arrogant woman." A confident man="what a cool dude?" It will take years before that changes, unfortunately. Actually, Prachi is liked by a lot of people because of her "sweet kid" image. Bani character of course helps a lot over and above that.

U hv said it in a very nice manner 👏 👏

Even I feel the same for Sandhya..She is technically the best dancer in the show now 👏 and no doubt about it 😃 but if u see her overall performance then its not as attractive as Prachi or Jay's performance 😛 because Sandhya lacks in the facial expression department very badly and a good dancer has to hv everything perfect going for her from dancing to even her facial expressions which is also a part of dancing 😊 ..

If u see Dancers like Madhuri Dixit or Sudha Chandran then u can see that along with their body ,their face also shows all the correct emotions along with the song, and thats what u call perfect dancing 😃

Also Sandhya's arrogence can go against her in the voting department because its not a reality talent hunt show but a reality Celebrity dance cum game show 😉 wherein not just dance but everything from your overall behaviour and personality to interaction with other contestents and judges to overall Popularity among the junta, everything counts 😃 and unfortunately Sandhya lacks in all these Departments ..

In fact even though Sandhya right now is the best dancer in the show but as a common public I prefer to watch Prachi or Jay's dance not because I m their fan(I don't even watch their serials 😃 )but I prefer watching them because I like the way they conduct themselves on the stage without blowing their own trumpet 😃 ...Public does like to watch Simplicity and the reason why Mona won last year 😃

And to b very frank its not a talent show because whether u win it or not,all celebrities hv already made their mark in their respective fields 😃 ..So its not a question of searching a dancing talent because Boogie Woogie is already there for it 😃 ..JDJ is all about a Competition among famous celebs and who can stand at the top in the midst of so many pathholes 😉 😃
