A Dancing Icon, Critiqued by Her Son: Malaika Arora on Arhaan Khan’s Honest Words Amid Poison Baby Release

Malaika Arora, long celebrated for her iconic dance numbers, recently opened up about the candid feedback she receives from her son, Arhaan Khan. Despite her success in hits like Chaiyya Chaiyya, Gur Naal Ishq Mitha, and Munni Badnaam Hui, Arhaan doesn’t hold back when it comes to critiquing his mother’s moves.

The actress attended the launch event for her latest number, Poison Baby, in Mumbai this week. During the event, she shared her admiration for her son’s dancing skills while joking about the sometimes blunt opinions he shares about her own performances.

Son’s Honest Feedback

Malaika revealed that Arhaan often learns new dance steps and asks her to perform them with him. She said that he encourages her by saying, “Come on, Mom, let’s do this together,” but then spends the rest of the day making fun of her, adding that he often tells her she cannot dance like that. She also credited her dancing genes for his talent, adding that he is particularly fond of her song Munni Badnaam Hui.

The actress expressed pride in Arhaan’s natural rhythm and how he brings energy to his moves, describing him as a “fabulous dancer” who carries her legacy forward in his own way.

Poison Baby and Thamma

Turning attention to her new project, Malaika discussed stepping back into the film world with the number Poison Baby, which is featured in the upcoming film Thamma. She explained that the choreography was designed to mix movement and expression, aiming for a performance that felt powerful and untamed.

The track is sung by Jasmine Sandlas, Sachin-Jigar, and Divya Kumar and features Malaika sharing the dance floor with Rashmika Mandanna. Thamma, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, is part of Maddock’s horror-comedy universe and marks its fifth installment. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Nawazuddin Siddiqui and is scheduled for release this Diwali, on October 21.
