GC should ask for a change in choreographer - Page 3

I am disappointed at the judges...

He is a little stiff though. His footwork is fine, but his upper body seems a stiff, think Shampa will have to work on that! Besides that am sure the choreography will be good in future

i thought they judged gurmeet's performance rightly though kjo seemed a little put off... but i'm disappointed at the marks some of the others who obviously cannot dance have got...

Third, I think they are over playing his hotness factor... Yes he is extremely hot and popular. But there is SO much more to him beyond that.

I am so with you on these two points! The costumes were awful. That vest-like specimen was really unflattering and we have seen GC pull of lime green, and other similar ridiculous things, so it is a shattering experience to see him in clothing that he cannot pull off with elan. 🥺😆

I so agree! They are doing this with all the contestants though, boxing them into stereotypes ever so neatly. The way they were playing on GC as the hot action hero, Bharti was the fat lady (which was so uncomfortable to watch!), Jayasuriya was the paragon of sportsmanship, Gia was the bahu...you get my point. It is really aggravating and the one thing that is making me consider not watching the show at all and just catching GC's performances online and voting for him, because all said and done...he is my hero. 😳

Judging purely by today's performance, I think GC's strengths have been misread in a way. He is indeed an action hero and there is no doubt of his talent in that department, but it does not translate directly into dancing the way it was sort of moulded to in the sequence today. He is no doubt a bit stiff, so to play on his strengths would have been to maybe make it a slower number where he had more time to lend clarity to each of his steps, as he is just learning to loosen up. Something heavy on poses, landings and lifts with the partner...all things he is good, not to mention room for some of his trademarks looks and expressions, might have been wiser at this stage. Before you do something fast, you have to perfect doing it slowly, and to get that "flow" you have to be in total control of your body. GC was thrust into something that was a little beyond his comfort zone, I think, where he was trying to focus on too many things at the same time, the sequence of steps, the hand and leg positions etc. all at a super fast speed. I think this is why maybe his movements were not perfect, because he didn't feel totally comfortable in them.

But they are clearly trying to "sell" him as an ACTION HERO (he may as well have had the words emblazoned on his bare chest for all the times they said or implied them) so his act had to reflect the same. It might not even be the choreographer's fault because I am sure they have been told by the production people exactly why each contestant is on the show and they are advised on how to play to that.

Summary: GC's action does not translate into his greatest strengths in dancing and that should be understood. 😊

Exactly, I am talking about marks system... Crap scores... In which base they give crickter high score?...

sympathy marks... did u see the guy's face? he himself looked embarrassed that he got such high scores when he didn't deserve it...

Gurmeet is a non-dancer. Atleast to me, he looks like one. It's not the choreographer that makes him a dancer but his inherent qualities. I think he acted to his best today and honestly, this is all he has in him.

I'm most probably going to watch his performances till the last 2 wks then i'll start watching the whole show...both GC and Shampa were good considering it was the 1st performance. He is a bit stiff and the best thing is he and Shampa agree so they will work on that...
