GC should ask for a change in choreographer - Page 2

I feel GC give more time to stunt only ...as a stunts no doubt he is fabulous doing...

Knowing how good a dancer Gurmeet is, he was not up to the mark today

Gurmeet is lucky to have Shampa, she is brilliant. Sushant killed it with her choreography!! Last yr first episode sushant didnt get good marks, but then performed trememdously! Change his choreographer is just a big no-no! Shampa has trained under terence, just relax it is only the first episode u cant expect great marks the very first time!

gurmeet's upper body is stiff and that is something i have noticed even during geet days... shampa and gurmeet will have to concentrate less on his martial arts skills and hero image and work on his strengths as a dancer... that aside i enjoyed his performance even though the choreography and synchronization could have been better... i'm sure it's going to be better next week...

I have greatest respect for Shampa as a choreographer,thanks to her last season in JDJ with Sushant...But yes I am not too happy with the dance and choreography today...It was decent...And decent is what I am not looking for,as I have seen Gurmeet's performances and know that he has it in him to be a fantastic dancer.Considering it was the first week,I wont be too judgmental. But yes choreography definitely could have been much,much better.

And I didnt like the costume AT ALL. It was my biggest grouse😆. No seriously what he (and even Shampa)was wearing didnt go at all with the performance. I couldnt even see their steps properly... I think they would have looked much more graceful,had they wore a costume that complemented the dance,and not this jungli one.


Third, I think they are over playing his hotness factor... Yes he is extremely hot and popular. But there is SO much more to him beyond that. They are focusing more on his hotness,and commenting about that,rather than concentrating on his performance... I just think it takes away credit from his hard work. And also overdose of anything is not good. Even in his performances,I hope Shampa is able to look beyond the hotness factor,and bring out and nurture the dancer and performer in him... We already know how hot he is,what I want to see is how beautifully he performs!

I really hope that by next 1-2 weeks, Gurmeet- Shampa come up with a performance,on which I am able to go all fangirly😆... Maybe I am being harsh,but Gurmeet is my favorite contestant, and I am not going to accept anything mediocre from him,when I know that he has the ability to be brilliant. And I hope Shampa identifies his potential and brings it out through her choreography.

Judging purely by today's performance, I think GC's strengths have been misread in a way. He is indeed an action hero and there is no doubt of his talent in that department, but it does not translate directly into dancing the way it was sort of moulded to in the sequence today. His dancing strengths are entirely different from what I have seen.

He is no doubt a bit stiff, so to play on his strengths would have been to maybe make it a slower number where he had more time to lend clarity to each of his steps, as he is just learning to loosen up. Something heavy on poses, landings and lifts with the partner...all things he is good, not to mention room for some of his trademarks looks and expressions, might have been wiser at this stage. Before you do something fast, you have to perfect doing it slowly, and to get that "flow" you have to be in total control of your body. GC was thrust into something that was a little beyond his comfort zone, I think, where he was trying to focus on too many things at the same time, the sequence of steps, the hand and leg positions etc. all at a super fast speed. I think this is why maybe his movements were not perfect, because he didn't feel totally comfortable in them.

But they are clearly trying to "sell" him as an ACTION HERO (he may as well have had the words emblazoned on his bare chest for all the times they said or implied them) so his act had to reflect the same. It might not even be the choreographer's fault because I am sure they have been told by the production people exactly why each contestant is on the show and they are advised on how to play to that.

Summary: GC's action does not translate into his greatest strengths in dancing and that should be understood. 😊

@enchanted - i couldn't have put it better... gurmeet is the hottest male contestant on the show and we all know that... but this is a dance competition and i hope they concentrate on that aspect hereon...

prob is this gurmeet is not a good dancer if u see his past perfomensec u can easily judge he is not good dancer , mostly vo srk vala famous hand spreding action karta hai jissey pata nhi chalta tha but now easily uski stiff body ki sacchayi bahar aa gyi😆😆 shammpa ne very clevrly uskey flaws hide kiye by actin act design karkey ...but bhaarti surprised me itney acchey marks le gyi , she is actually flexcible n esha she is febulous
