issk,

thanks for reading. i can never explain to anyone how i feel about things that are happening around me. it's hard to lose everything you think is real and a part of you.

anyway, to that "unity in diversity" that is all over ipk. keeps me sane i tell you. helps me breathe.

I get that, my Indus. Have read it several times...and there is a sadness i cannot shake.

On another note, i took the liberty of sharing it with some of my besties who are cut from the same cloth as you, my darling, and the response has been glowing.

It's a very moving piece.

U i D is, i agree, all over IPK...and am proud to note, all over the creative arts in the country. Art does give one a purpose higher than petty divisions.

And this thread is, in it's own special way, a tribute to that. We celebrate IPK and we do it in distinctly diverse ways too...

But returning to IPK...the diversity of talent involved in this show (both performing or other wise) brings freshness in it's fold, provides new meaning to the same old, adds dimension. The result is a show that glitters with prospect every time you hit starplayer (or however you access it). The contemporary world is all about simplifying but the moment you bring an interesting mix of people to the table, people with intelligence and intent, complexity follows suit. And isn't that the key to a "product" that lives on? The moment you take it away, this complexity, what remains has no fizz...it's like a bottle of flat coke...looks like any other, but isn't drinkable cos it's insipid, tasteless.

I don't know whether i'm making much sense here.

I loved reading your thoughts. They evoked many things in me...

Thanks again for sharing, means a lot.

😆

I the loving suspense, dear serious! Stephen King is an all-timeth pick...but so many others...Koonz...and i like Wallander though have only seen Branagh as the man in the tv series...and Sherlock the Holmes, every form (which reminds me... Benedict the Cumberbatch...ooh la la)...and Hitchcock's films of course, most of them...some fantastic Korean films too.
And coming to think of it, suspense doesn't always need to be of the whodunnit variety for me...there is a french film i watched not too long ago called "the past", all about a husband and wife - ex-es now - coming together for finalising divorce proceedings after being seperated for a while...there is a new partner in the girl's life (who also has an ex-wife in hospital in coma). A brilliant dynamic unfolds through the film between the three of them and the one in hospital who is not even conscious...and ends in utter jaw-dropping suspense...so yeah, the mystery of life and how to figure it out in the moment, that gets me too...big time. 😊

Happy you like the goofing around...not something i'm used to doing at all, to tell ya the truth...
Iss building ki hawa..there's something in the air around here, the moment you log in and enter, bas ho gaya kalyaan...

😆

Yeaaah! Mental is good!!!😆

I love reading the Wallander series, have watched most of the tv series because I liked the books. Branagh is good.

Benedict the Cumberbatch! Oo-La-La INDEED! Apparently spend a year in Dharamshala teaching English, after college. Where the hell was I?!!!!!! My English needed some serious TLC!

Me the biggest Daar-pok in the world! No horror for me, so Stephen King is out. Love reading crime fiction, especially British authors. Love watching tv series too.
Iss hawa ko kya naam doon?!!!! There definitely is something in the air!😃

Issk ji, you're making lot of sense.

Indi Di, thank you for sharing that link. Enjoyed it.

I've been living outside India for quite a while now, last four years in Yankee doodle-dom. For some reason, these last four years I have contemplated more on my cultural identity and felt extremely pround of it. You just gave voice to what many of us feel, deeply. I don't want to get on to my many hobby horses here! Will be frothing and foaming and pulpit pounding in no time!!!

issk, 😳

i know exactly what you mean about complexity... it is essential to fizz... to any creative environment... to the very notion of freedom. if everyone were exactly identical, i would certainly have to seek another planet.

thanks for sharing with your friends. i really wanted to let others know my feelings today.

oh ipk celebrates complexity and difference, and says, it is good and wonderful... do you remember nani ji's voice calling out to rahim chacha and saying get something from the puja room? ah joy. or buaji in that clip you sent, looking into bedi ji's eyes as he gazes at her smitten, and trying not to lose her bearings... oh ho ho ho... or for that matter the hum hoon do. or mami ji, ex maid, current bootiphool bahu rani who sleeps and does makeupiya the whole day but gets love and respect...

and look at the atheist and the one who talks to her devi maiyya falling deeply in love and not trying to say my way or the high way...

in every bit of ipk india lives and giggles and does rabba ve.

maybe that's the trick, we should send out some rabba ves and take on the crazy complexity busters.
i am rofling at the images this throws up. maybe ragini will read this and make a vm.
