issk,
thanks for reading. i can never explain to anyone how i feel about things that are happening around me. it's hard to lose everything you think is real and a part of you.
anyway, to that "unity in diversity" that is all over ipk. keeps me sane i tell you. helps me breathe.
I get that, my Indus. Have read it several times...and there is a sadness i cannot shake.
On another note, i took the liberty of sharing it with some of my besties who are cut from the same cloth as you, my darling, and the response has been glowing.
It's a very moving piece.
U i D is, i agree, all over IPK...and am proud to note, all over the creative arts in the country. Art does give one a purpose higher than petty divisions.
And this thread is, in it's own special way, a tribute to that. We celebrate IPK and we do it in distinctly diverse ways too...
But returning to IPK...the diversity of talent involved in this show (both performing or other wise) brings freshness in it's fold, provides new meaning to the same old, adds dimension. The result is a show that glitters with prospect every time you hit starplayer (or however you access it). The contemporary world is all about simplifying but the moment you bring an interesting mix of people to the table, people with intelligence and intent, complexity follows suit. And isn't that the key to a "product" that lives on? The moment you take it away, this complexity, what remains has no fizz...it's like a bottle of flat coke...looks like any other, but isn't drinkable cos it's insipid, tasteless.
I don't know whether i'm making much sense here.
I loved reading your thoughts. They evoked many things in me...
Thanks again for sharing, means a lot.
