Buying all the food items was taken in the right spirit where as AC not .. where as for him both were done his own way. Khushi knows him by then. Esp becos the way she too that angry out with him. Who bathes outside 2012, why would anyone drag their husband into public.. embarrassing even to think. Drama we have to take..

totally agree, ac, food, all the same to him. nothing to get into a tizzy about. plus all his adult life he has pretty much looked after his own needs. no one even bothers to stay up to sit with him while he eats. he doesn't expect it too. yet i wonder, would he not like it if someone did. there is a curious lack of sensitivity to him as a human being at times... he is always treated as teh man of the house who can take everything and needs nothing.

social niceties he does goof up on. remember the raging one when nani ji produced acchi bahu type girl with parents who had come to see him. 😆 😆 so damn rude... but why can't i get mad at him.

and also sometimes i think when you stride around with a lot of huq, and you exude that clean of heart-ness, in a funny kind of way relationships grow and bond through it.

our world of excessive decorum and politeness... does it create barriers and a layer of falseness to relationships? i wonder.

once you have just been yourself you are somehow easier to assess, to reach...

ok i have stopped making sense i know.

but my mother used to say of me, it's only when you shout and scream at someone i know they mean a lot to you.

and i believe you know how strong a relationship is only after you have had you first real fight or friction.

indi suttupiyaing.

just found these two things jotted on my notes (yeah i have stickies devoted to ipk... often written in teh middle of watching or just because a thought comes).

am posting here... because i felt like sharing with ya all.

okay, i have observed ipk again itni kareeb se, and am totally (pronounced todally) convinced there's no point in trying to run, its intentions are clear and it means to win... we are done for, we are kakori kabab. and worse.

watched 306 to 8 this afternoon, heart melting, beating fast, never knowing what to do next, shins goosebumped, funny heat crawling up neck and right ear, while i am giggling at the comedy all along and feeling so bad for both the idiots so much in love... i was a sight in the bus coming home.

this wizardry even in the middle of story unsure of its path. threads left loose all over the place... oh what seduction.

one minute humour and ha ha, in seconds it's hot and humid breath stopping sensual.

how how HOW do they do this?

so so so so so good barun and sanaya... and even the rest of the cast. the doctor and bua ji a scream.

the dialogue writers suddenly in form.

shoshan.

yeh nanhi si jaan.

sanaya absolutely sanka and sexy. brill.

barun... how does this guy do this. there was the slightly tired, besotted air, quickly changing to asr who loves to play... how he wanted her... oh the flirting... and the need, yet the instinct to win. not capitulate.

madam in a mix of flavours too, now funny, now angry, now demanding, and often just so lovely. there was the mother's payal scene, the biwi tv, the sarson tel massage, the shoshan and the kiraya, the angry encounter in the office, his figuring out why she's left... her counting the days and with that sad bereft look, after 12 days i won't be arnav ji's patni any more. her fabulously comic delivery, his killer lines, husky devilish voice.

story was trying to get onto the contract resolution route, but soon would come dadi and the death of all this.

shayad. (oh the forlorn thing in his voice, so defeated, so confused, till he realises why. broke my heart.)

bolo... i'm listening. (hear the husk? where can i buy some?)

aw... tumse hi toh suni hai. (oghsfdghdjjd that aw.)

tum wapas yahan? what happened? (how does a man sound so afhsjkldj.)

aw... tumhare paas nahin hai. (again that zalim khatarnak aw. someone stop that man.)

but you didn't let me... so. (pronounced... butchyew di'nt le' me. i need oxygen.)

right through there were doubles, and that ear showing... yet the actors never let it matter.

i so wish they had the money and time to never ever need doubles.

just wanted to share the thrill that is ipk... bahut baar phir.

i also wrote this... i see i have dated it 12 april 2012. wondering if i posted this here earlier.

i was looking for the date when i first saw barun, in a tv soap, and the very first time i felt a funny kind of pull, a recognition almost. i had wondered then what was wrong with me, was i finally regressing? a soap boy who is introduced in the 31st episode, dropped out of several episodes, and me watching this weird thing with searching eyes, where is the boy. really no real sign of the acting at that time and a fairly corny story. i really thought i was more ridiculous than i thought i was and my "crush" days from school were here.

it was 9 november 2009, that's when i first saw barun on my tv screen. in april 2010, my world rocked in a way i had never ever thought it would. for a year and more i floated around not quite registering reality... going through the motions.. my first and only visit to the united states during that time... i lived on the surface without even knowing that's what i was doing... till one day i turned my head and saw a promo of this show.

i turned away and said, huh, rubbish. a few months later i was caught. it was as though this fellow was not going to be denied... i was dragged back into intense feeling and just simple joy, silly joy, sparkling attraction, things i'd forgotten.

through this show came so much back to me, and all of you, and writing... and just being a part of this huge humanity. yes, even that. i go from thread to thread, i chat with people from everywhere... i feel a strong blessing.

the wretched feeling, the rocked world remains and perhaps will always be there, but there are many feelings back in me. my daughter worries that first thing in the morning i run to the comp... i do... my tie back to life is here.

Arnav's room is not his any more. When he enters his room after coming back from office, a wind chime on the threshold welcomes him. he is flummoxed to see the interior, which is now embellished with fairy lights, stars. His bed is also parted with two bed sheets, one side is pink and other side is white. Frustration suffuses his face to see the anarchy in his room. Khushi has almost established her entity in his life. Till he can digest this drastic change khushi comes there with her effervescent smile. She came to know about his arrival, that's why she hung the ghanti on the door. So she will come to know every time he comes.

"how do you like the bell and the where I should hang the star?"

The colorful wind chime and the stars in her hand acerbate him. She wanted to hang it straight over the bed, but there is no provision there.

"khushi what are you trying to do?"

Khushi doesn't ponder his question and moves away to fix Salman Khan poster which is coming out from the wall.

"what the hell" he can't just finish at "what the", cause a half bare Salman Khan poster in his room enrages him. Am laughing so hard at this Sohara

"this is salman khan."

"I know, but what it is doing here?" he infuriates.

"he is my most favorite actor, didn't you see his dance move?' I didn't really like it when Khuhsi said 'pasandida kalakar'.. just seemed overly artificial..she could have used the word hero..

She shows him Salman Khan's signature dance move.

"are you gone crazy? What are you trying to do?"

Chipaknaki koshis kar rahi hai. Trying to attach it. Don't you see? For next six months this half room, half, poolside, half bathroom is mine."

She shows him what is his side and what is hers.

"according to this, this side is mine. But where you will sleep" She sits on the bed.

He moves closer to her, what quickens her heart beat. He leans to her and picks his blanket.

"never mind."

When he walks towards the poolside, khushi calls him back to give his pillow. He snatches the pillow from her hand and gives her a glacial stare. khushi is exultant; she passes a flying kiss to Salman khan. Sitting comfortably on the bed, she mutters,

"Laad governor poolsidepe, aur khushi kumari gupta kamre mei, almari aur, bistar humara hua, aur age age dekhiye ki hota hai kya."

(laad governor is by the poolside and KKG is inside the room. The closet and bed are mine and watch, what is coming up next?)

She winks and picks her notebook, certainly contriving more schemes. nicely phrased!

Next morning by the poolside Arnav wakes up by the sound of astrology on the he winces in pain when he tries to move. Where inside the room, khushi is sitting comfortably on the bed, eating chana and watching astrology with Laxmi.

"laad governor ki shandar palangse aramse sona, ho giya. Laad governor ki TV pe rashi bhavisha dekhna, ho giya."

(sleep on laad governor's nice bed comfortably; done. Watch astrology on his TV, done.)

She is marking everything in her notebook.

Arnav can't straighten his neck because of the sprain. He puckers his face due to pain.

khushi gets scared to see him coming,

"laxmiji lagtahe graha achanak badal raha hai."

(it seems suddenly the star has started to change it's direction)

"what"

"suprabhat." (good morning)

He is livid why the volume of TV is so loud and what Laxmi is doing in his room? She is watching astrology with Laxmi and the volume is high because of her; she is not sure whether the sound reaches to Laxmi's ear properly or not. Arnav tells her to lower down the volume and listen to his words carefully that next time if she will. Khushi doesn't let Arnav finish and recriminates him disdainfully.

"lower down the volume, or you also will not hear properly like Laxmi. Your intellect is like her and probably your hearing power is also like her."

Khushi exasperates at his insolence. He again tells her to lower down the volume and hides the remote under the comforter. When Khushi can't find the remote, he tells him to turn off the TV by hand.

ASR also becomes child like Khushi when he is with her. Completely agree. That water fight in his office... Oh how he lost control whenever Khushi was around!

Khushi goes to turn off the TV and he strides towards the bathroom fast. Khushi also scurries fast to catch him, but she misses for a second. She starts to bang the bathroom door in anger. He did beimani with her. He turns on the water so that he doesn't have to listen to her prattle. But she is valiant; she says that he can't make her stop. She smiles mischievously, concocts some plan. She goes to the poolside and turns off the water line. Poor Arnav, he is already lathered by the soap, gets baffled how to clean without water. He starts to scream HP. Khushi jibes,

"what happened? Tell me, I'm your patni, it's my kartavya to madat you."

"did you turn off the water?"

"could be"

"do you know what are you doing?'

"you cheated me. I just turned off the water."

She is mad cause he tricked her. She wants him to come out right now. Arnav's anger is pulsating, she can do whatever she wants, but he will not come out. She is also inexorable; she will not turn on the water. So Arnav had to render. She wants him to get out from the bathroom in one minute and from tomorrow she will go to the bathroom first. He doesn't have any choice, but accept her proposal.

"aur namratase aap ko anurodh karna hoga ki hum pani chalade."

(And you have to plead me acquiescently that I turn on the water.)

"What rubbish!"

He doesn't have any choice but to endure her hegemony. He asks to her to turn on the water. Khushi wants to play with his ego now. she tells him that she is not listening anything, her hearing power and brain both are like Laxmi.

"plz pani chala do." He pleads, but apparently not so meekly. Even if he tries hard he cannot be normal. He will always have that special air about him. Lucky for us.

yeh huyi na baat."

She shows her delight and anger by banging on the door. Khushi starts her countdown. When he doesn't come out by her countdown, he hobbles fast towards the bathroom intend to fight. But Arnav is already out and she bumps with him. Her contact with his bare torso perturbs her. All her boldness evaporates in a jiffy; she moves away to swallows a rising wave of emotions. He looked good and she looked the perfect mix of innocent yet affected. What unbidden emotions was she feeling? Always liked it when they showed Khushi battle with this attraction..

"Don't you dare switch off the water again." He warns her with a baiting tone.

Khushi still can't get out of the affect of her touch with his bare body. When Arnav sees that she is still standing there, he tells her why she is not going to the bathroom, or is she waiting for the astrologer's instruction for the muharat? 😆 Good looks and great sense of humor uff..

Khushi goes inside the bathroom, still lost in the affect of his touch. Suddenly she thinks that Arnav can turn off the water line. She comes out quickly and admonishes him to turn off the water. Arnav is also in playful mood,
"what if I turned off the power already!" This was so cute. He loved teasing her. Later we would get nose red hona teasing. In fact the other day I was telling Indi di to write such a scene of naak laal teasing for her FF.

She starts to scream loud. Anjali comes there to hear her earsplitting shriek.

Tilchatta, cuckroach."

Anjali tells Arnav to go and check, but she is surprised to see his tilted neck.

"Oh just sprain. Yesterday night." He can't complete, what he will say! Anjali tells them to come down as the breakfast is ready.

Khushi says in an imperative tone to turn on the water immediately. 😆

He goes inside the bathroom and turns on the faucet.

"tumhari tarah cheap nahi hoon mein.'

khushi resents at his insolent words. she screams, cockroach.

Arnav doesn't see any cockroach. But khushi is incorrigible; she swears that there is a big cockroach on the mirror. Arnav looks at the mirror and understands her banter, she addressed him cockroach. khushi frowns and smiles mischievously.

Uff what a sexy cockroach!

Arnav is flagrant now; he wants her not to show her face whole day today. She is also frantic, blows her hair from her forehead to show her anger. Aww how adorable is Mrs. Cockroach! She strides fast in anger, but slips on the soap. And her knight in shining armor holds her in his robust arms right then. She also snakes her hand around his neck comfortably as if they want to remain like this for eternity. For a moment the rancor evanesces. They became lost in each other eyes. His sense invades by her touch, her warmth and khushi's resolution to annoy him dissipates for a moment. He gazes at her face with his eyes agleam with love for a brief moment, before sobering up in an attempt to dispel the uncomfortable, unnerving awkwardness between them. He lets her go after a while. He leaves, but khushi is still in perturbation. Very very sweetly written Sohara

Anjali is arranging red roses in the vase. Khushi comes there and wishes to do the work. She thinks Anjali should take rest. Anjali asks her about her exuberance. Though she replies nothing special, but mutters herself that she is happy cause, she defeated laad governor today. She says that she loves red roses a lot, and so as Anjali. I think she feels lighter now that they are no longer saying hateful things to each other. Her sanka, irritating him and his get out, shut up is what makes them feel comfortable. both crazy unconventional lovers!

While descending down from the stairs, Arnav notices that shyam is ogling Khushi lasciviously. His eyes blaze a suppressed anger erupts inside him like lava. Shyam veers his look to see Arnav's angry glare.

Mami joins them in the breakfast table. But she is flummoxed to see Arnav's tilted neck. Is it a new ishtyle? Anjali tries to say yesterday night, but mami is ambiguous, "ratma kya." Shyam seems anticipated something; he knows about their sleeping arrangement. That scene where he found that patch of quilt and figured out everything was so unbelievable. Amongst everyone I sometimes felt Shyam was the most intelligent.

Khushi sits down beside Arnav and quips,

"Daba de aapka gala."

Mami taunts him, "I saw hanging gardan in Mumbai."

Khushi laughs and when she serves him food, he rebukes her with gritted teeth,

I told you don't show your face whole day today."

"Then turn around your face. Oh I forgot you can't turn your face in the other direction." Khushi says in a quick repartee, adds fuel in the fire.

Aman calls and Arnav is mad because some clients didn't pay. He thinks they are behaving like thieves.

"Unhone udhar liya hai to chukana parega. We are not beggars but still."
khushi's face turn pale to hear this, cause she also borrowed 300 rupees from him.

Arnav intends to go to office without having breakfast. Anjali tells Arnav to eat breakfast. But Arnav is not liking to have breakfast with khushi, who is driving him crazy. he prefers to eat outside or in the canteen.

"But canteen is closed today." Arnav is bewildered, how she knows!

"Our spy is every where around." She smiles sweetly.

Khushi is in embroilment, she didn't return his money yet. She starts to hiccup in tension. ughh.. Sometimes the writers made her so clueless.

Arnav sees that shyam receives a bouquet of red roses. He recollects that Khushi told her fondness of red roses. His anger pulsates. He follows Shyam, who goes to a room to keep the roses. When he comes out they confront. Shyam feigns that he didn't see him. Arnav wishes to beat him black and blue, but controls his anger. he tries to berate him with gritted teeth, "I gave you last chance...now she is my..." but shyam doesn't let him complete. He tries to coax him with Subreption. Shyam requests him to come with him. He takes him to the store room where he decorated a cradle with rose petals. Possessive Arnav was a treat to watch.

"There was shortage of roses, so I got it from outside. i did it from my unborn princess. You probably forgot that your sister also loves roses. I was doing this to surprise her. if you suspect me, then I can't change your thought"

Arnav knows he is dissimulating, but leaves without saying anything. Shyam mutters,

"From next time, you will think what I'll make you think. I will make you believe that I've changed. And the day you believe this, I'll fight back like this mai aisa waar karenge ki apke hosh uud jayege, saale sahab"

He grimaces devilishly.

my most favorite song and it's made only for Arnav and Khushi

Hey Sohara how are you feeling now? I liked your take I think more than I liked the actual episode 😊 . As always your gifs and pictures are amazing. Both Khushi and Arnav look exceptionally good in the top most gif. That paragraph about Mr and Mrs cockroach is my favourite! Very sweetly written. They so badly want to be together. Whenever they move apart you can almost feel the effort it is taking them to break away. Comments above as well.

And thank you for reading my 236. I always look forward to your comments dear since you make me laugh so much. yes yes we will all take better care of him than everyone around him. You must be super excited hearing the news about his movie ? We should invite him to an italian lunch.. Anyway he has gotten used to Gupta women going crazy making sure he is comfortable, so if we all jump in he won't mind at all 😊 .

Indi di all I can say is keep writing and keep posting.. You make me love IPk more and more.. ❤️
I really liked that winning her back track. After all those dreary days without our hero, this was quite welcome. Somehow reminded me of the first few days at AR. Similar energy, mixture of desire and laughter, a little reflection. And this definitely felt a more asr way of dealing with things than just a regular tearful apology. That office scene is too die for.. mother's payal is pretty if a man says that what are you to do? sarso tel am ready to sprain myself over and over again.. biwi tv was actually amazingly witty I thought.. Why are you reminding me of all this Indi di! Sure of himself, the accent, the I don't care about the rest of the world attitude yet so tender whenever Khushi was even a little vulnerable. Uff.. Also by this point he knew Khushi loves him so he was in the mood for some teasing till that amazing awesome scene where he confronts her about all this being due to the 6 month contract. Only barun could manage this instant change from flirty haha to exquisite anger to serious mature. The sheer intensity had me wordless.

I haven't seen Barun in the other show but am really tempted to watch now.

THNX FOR READING AND DELVING INTO MY PONDERING.ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR TAKE OVER MINE.

my POV is different. she left, because she couldn't see Anjali hurt. And Anjali's distraught state made Arnav hurt. because of that she left him, in spite of loving him immensely.

YES SHE LEFT BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T SEE HER HURT BUT AT THE SAME TIME SHE WAS ANGRY WITH HIM...AGAIN SHE NEVER STAYS STRAIGHT FORWARD AND IT'S HER NATURE TO CONCEAL HER PAIN AND PLASTER IT WITH SMILE...There were TWO THINGS ..IF YOU REMEMBER SHE IS IN FRONT OF DM AND PRAYS AND SEEKS FORGIVENESS FOR LYING AND SHE SAYS TWO THINGS..."aap ne dekha na Anjali di ne hum se kaise baat ki" and second is the aB kuch hi dino mein hum Arnavji ki patni nahi rahainge" and she also said it the moment she enters the GH and fills Buaji's mouth with ladoos because she asks the reason...

very thoughtful take.
i loved this episode. Though felt bad to see ASR in nonplus state, but so many good moments made the episode good.
there was so many significant connection and symbolism, you pondered, that amused me. you really can see thing from a deep perspective.
All the lines in blue grabbed my attention.
My comments are in purple.

THNX AGAIN.😊

oh, rhea, yeah the first days of ar... only here with that added purpose to woo her back, they are crazy about each other and for each other... so sexiness turned right up, attacking her with what he knows disarms... himself... up close, irritating, invasive, unstoppable. he knows he turns her on... that she cannot resist beyond a point... it's an asr style gambit to win his lover.

the state of asr that barun depicts here... the mercurial change of tenor... so so asr. and so expertly handled by barun... when i tell people i like him for his talent and they give me that ya ya we get it look not believing a word, is so wish i could haul them here and show them these scenes. this urbane suaveness, yet every feeling deep and real... i have not found it practically anywhere.

shraddha was a bad one, yet something about him. baat hamarai pakki hai, again not too well written, and a predictable character, but he made him so real and believable and constantly added little touches... i watch scenes at times. what was obvious while watching baat when i used to once in a way... this actor is not like the other guys you see on tv... i used to often think that. very different... refreshing... smart... intelligent... oh and he often looked quite chikna, almost effeminate, i still liked. 😆

episode 234

the scene that touched me most today involved a curiously life like situation. when a wealthy son in law visits his far less economically favoured in laws, that too for the very first time, there's always anxiety and tension in the air mixed with a fragile sort of happiness.

what if damad ji is not comfortable... let's lug out our ancient cooler, we can make do without it, but he needs special care... khatir. what does he like to eat, how should we make him feel at home... thoughts rifle through the mind and the whole household, even if it is made of the elders essentially, runs about getting things ready. here it is two women, a mother and an aunt, both devoted, both not rich, both terribly loving in their own way who are getting into a tizzy over his visit.
It was so amazing how not so rich Guptas poured their heart out to plz their rich son in law. My dad always says that the poor people are warmer than the rich people.

what's more, both are aware that damad ji is not really a gentle soul. they have seen his gussa, they have witnessed his excess the night he married their daughter and didn't think it was necessary to explain to them the exigencies that brought about the situation.

what's more, buaji has seen him is pretty nasty imbroglios right here in this house. he has come and slapped money on the table before her eyes... she is large hearted and loving and wants only the best for khushi, she may even forgive the unforgivable but something of that rough arrogance lingers in the mind, colours your thoughts, never lets you be absolutely comfortable.
you said it right. Buaji apparently forgot that and he is now only their precious son in law, bas.

both the ladies are determined to make this stay as good as possible. where they come from the damad is almost deity... pati parameshwar 😆 we say, a patriarchal society quite out of control in its veneration of one gender.

and then comes the airconditioner fiasco.

the whys and wherefores of it may be whatever they are... but for these two ladies it is really painful, hurting... and for their daughter too. though i do wonder, when khushi decided on the spur of the moment to drag him to her middle class home, that too not hers, her aunt's, just to teach him a lesson angered by his class talk on the back of her ittr antic, did she perhaps show a certain insensitivity herself. i know we take our families for granted, and we should, but if he is in such a terrible mood and so scathing of khushi, what was the guarantee he'd behave well with her aunt and mother?
I think Khushi knew he wouldn't be acrimonious to her parents. Several times she saw how nice he was with her family. Remember the night on diwali; after his rebuttal to Khushi he behaved so nicely with her family. I think things was changed for him after babuji's heart attack.

but kkg never thinks about such things, especially when all are people she loves... she is angry and he is going to suffer.

sadly, she miscalculates and pushes him a bit too much... somewhere around that hurry to eat hot poori, he loses it and decides to do things his way.

the ac arrives, the neighbours are giggling and talking of how the son in law takes care of the family. is there innuendo in that of a girl "catching" a good guy? "phassana" or trapping is how one would refer to it in hindi.

bua ji is horrified, garima is shocked but in a placatory frame of mind. khushi is angry beyond words, especially when she picks on her aunt and mother's feelings.

i really liked the way this scene was directed and crafted, so much was said through looks and little gestures, the actors got the moment so well.

as bua ji looked on perplexed, the son in law who is a guest, went ahead to the ac guys and started giving instructions about where to fix a machine in her house without so much as a by your leave. then noticing everyone's expression, he said,

"khushi dekho... main ek ac laga raha hoon ussme itna bada issue, i mean..."

khushi, see... i am getting an ac fixed, why is it becoming such an issue.

to him an ac is a minor thing, plus he is a problem solver type... the heat is getting to him, okay, let's get a solution. yet it is not so simple. is it ever? had he been feeling comfortable and at peace with everything he would have put up with it, he puts up with many things for his family, including regular puja attendance, etc., but he is mad at her, that makes things a bit different.

she expects the worst of him, but even she is taken aback at this thoughtless behaviour.

and the poor ladies. fluttering around him. bua ji almost showing her real feelings, garima trying to make her understand and calm things down... it was interesting how camera recorded emotions through a series of close ups, bua ji's always i felt a bit bigger than the others. it is her house, her self respect that is being bruised.

at garima's "nahin nahin, the wall is strong, it will take the weight..." something seems to register with him...he knows this is not quite ok.

listen, the house may be old, but is it strong like me, says bua ji. perhaps a reference to the guptas... they may be old and not wealthy, but they can bear a lot and still remain standing. i felt really bad for the woman who had lost her husband, had no child, only this house was something of her own, and along comes a rich kid exposing it to this unkind scrutiny.
How you forgot! That was not her own house. remember later it turned to a rental property!

bua ji speaks of the cooler again... he grimaces.

"jiji, theek hai na, ooka humri rahan sahan ki aadat nahin hai..." jiji, it's okay, he is not used to living like us. mother like, garima swiftly offers an explanation that will give her young son in law an out and pacify the moment.
really loved Garimaji here. she deftly handled the situation and tried to assuage bua. Smart woman.

bua ji is a sensitive person... maybe he is beginning to sense things and feling a tad ashamed of his hasty action.

for when his personal effects and towels arrive, bua ji and amma look so flummoxed, he decides to give an explanation, he who had marries their daughter in the dark one night and never felt the need to explain himself... in fact had refused to.

"woh, actually mujhe apni cheezen use karne ki thodi aadat hai toh..." he is used to these things, that's why... he says in a quiet sort of way, not at all tycoon in tone.

again looks are exchanged. would like to say once more, i liked the close ups that were used to show feelings, the camera went really close to bua ji this episode, and abha parmar did not disappoint... layered expressions despite their "bua ji" quality of slight exaggeration. in fact the actors used silence, looks and body language really well i felt to convey the darkening, troubled atmosphere. and at a point when amma pointed out to khushi that many changes must have been made to his home at her advent, khushi remembers only the night when he threw her out of the room... deep deep hurt had been inflicted on her by the one who had given her chooris and bindi and a bas karni hai... how her heart must have have been riven by that wedding and its aftermath, a poignant reminder. and that hurt makes her fly into a vengeful anger masked by the ott behaviour perhaps. she is knocked around inside, not quite herself. if the writing at some point had addressed this, would have been great.

bua ji gives in... whatever makes you happy, if you're happy we are very happy...

the first time with the in laws is often awkward, even tough, and the peculiar accent on the son in law makes everything a bit bizarre, especially in communities such as the guptas'. and a lot of nonsense is often taken from damad ji. perhaps there's tension on both sides and that causes this abnormal air. usually things ease up gradually... which is exactly what we will see here in the coming days as asr becomes completely a part of the family.

which is why too perhaps this scene had traction. an understanding of a social milieu in it.
That's why i always say, I loved the gh track, though most of the people didn't like it.

in khushi's words that becomes so clear..."
aaj din bhar aap yeh jata chuke hain ki aap iss ghar ke dammaad hain..."

you've let us know through out the day that you are the son in law of this house.

before i move on, a request... did you notice the carry bag in which the wealthy young businessman's expensive amenities arrived? it had floral patterns. oh how we need a thread devoted to ipk's bad props... pillleejh.
hahaha, believe me, it would be a endless thread.

watch out... she'll be coming round the mohalla when she comes, she'll be asking many questions when she comes, she'll be inquisitive beyond belief when she comes...

and she'll pinch your cheek and kiss you wet and wild on the forehead before she goes. 😆

oh that was a fun encounter. of course all punch line fantastic... my favourite: yeah, you're good looking but are you educated? a question usually asked of girls... and then his irritated alpha male type extremely irritated and slightly snobbish... have done mba, from harvard.

ah haridwar!

the face of the man, the slightest change of expression in the eyes on cue, and the lips...

"bijnech hai," he has a business... bua ji leaps into the fray to defend her damad... he works in bahut barey phactory (a very big factory) and below him work thousands of people.

old lady is not to be outdone. arre even below lalan has so many people work and he has such a big dukan.

so lalan one is here already i am thinking.

"ji dukan nahin... chain of industries hai meri..." not a shop, i have chain of industries... my hero can't take it.

"chain!!!" in unison say the three devis... what's it with this three women thing in ipk. again and again we see it. just a while back it was khushi, bua ji, amma serving. now three friends visit. at rm, it's nani ji, mami ji, anjali. and once it was la, pam and sim.
good observation and three bros, Arnav, Akash and NK. Awesome threesome.

"chain ki dukan hai???" 😆you have a chain shop?

one eyebrow goes up though mouth remains open in disbelief...

"nahin nahin, dukanon ki chain..." no, no, a chain of many shops says khushi quickly.

at this old lady can't contain her excitement and goes for some action. echoing the sentiments of half the world's female population she says he is very good looking, bahut sundar. and goes for his cheek.

after her kiss on forehead, she blesses him, "jug jug jiyo, beta..."

great scene... and there's a happy jar of pickle on the table now...

money for damad ji's ittr is passed to khushi.

the man is losing it...

"ittr? inhen toh ittr bahut pasand hai..." khushi is gleeful, oh he loves ittr, she lies.
Khushi was not sparing any chance to irritate him even more.

"whatever," comes a gruff one.

"whatever?" says old lady of sharp ears.

"whatever kya hai beta..." what's that, she asks khushi. of course, she had also wanted to know the meaning of "what the!" and had been given an english lesson by sanka devi.

"matlab, janam janmantar..." means for this life and beyond... he will keep me happy, so happy the whole world would be left gaping... comes khushi's creative take on her husband's much used word.
just loved her translation. And isn't it true?

and to that, old lady blesses them... may you have saaton janam rishta... a relationship that last through seven lifetimes.

bitiya is struck...

bitwa looks at her.

and in an instant a pure ipk flip... the mood has become warm, intense, no ha ha in it...
absolutely loved this scene.

saaton janam tak tumhara rishta bana rahe bitiya, a look on his face, on hers and a hey hey rising in the air.

never know where it will come from, what will trigger it. that sudden moment which says you are connected... always. no matter what... the deed is done, no going back...

hey hey..

she looks at him, a funny pain somewhere.

a dard...

rabba vey...

an awkwardness an awareness, they cross each other and go their own way...

going back to the top of the episode...

the tycoon is feeling the heat literally. he toils away at his laptop, looking disgruntled almost woebegone.

he's looking a dish with that loosened tie and unhappy air, yet a concentration in the eyes... something interesting about workaholics.

God he is looking so handsome. muah for this pic.
a bead of sweat drips down from temple to eyelid and below, obstructing vision. he looks around seeking a fan, some respite...

gets up to do something and that's when he notices the other man.

salman.
khushi's fave poster boy.

suffer, baby, i think... you have been the other man in my husband's life for too long, it's time you got a dose of it yourself. so this is your biwi's fantasy man... and trust me if she knew about fan fic, she'd be writing them too. 100 secrets of chulbul pandey by kkg...sr.😆

er, she is the dulhan in the palki, and her he man is carrying it. this scene was daft and funny... the poster loving just past her teens khushi.

yes yes raise the eyebrow, dear man... so cutely amused is he, a little superior air too in it.
perfectly said.
Khushi's real life hero is much better than her fantasy man.

i almost heard him think "pagal". i bet she came to mind and in a jiffy his ire was gone, he was smiling. that's the effect this crazy girl has on him.

he however has made her mad with his actions. she decides he is doing an "occupy" on her room much like her little take over of his.
lovely mingling of their things, especially when mr finicky does it something so sexy in that...

she is resolved now to teach him zindagi ka path. life's lessons.

she was also contemplating destroying his nose with her mosquito killing racquet. remember her dashing against his cheek months ago in a fit of loveria? even the mosquito gives an excuse to get on with the lovin', of course asr kkgsr way, slap, whack, what the, get out shut up i hate you included.

he was quite sure he wasn't sharing a bed with her.

in the meantime the lights went off.

an episode with laughter, fun, sadness, pain, love and sexiness... all so well balanced.

edit: posted in a sleepy haze. added a couple of thoughts in the morning, they are in blue.

nice and complete episode, your take made it more interesting.
The mooh dekhai scene was hilarious and you depiction was even better.
all the blue bold lines grabbed my attention.

hi sohara,

good to see you back... are you completely ok?

tum theek ho?

thanks so much for reading, and comments. i know you love gh track... it has soemthing special about it. but there are many things i could not justify or appreciate.

about bua ji... i don't think she has forgotten how rough asr can be, we saw her mention that while getting the cooler ready 😆. and yes, the house is rented, but it is her home nonetheless, rented for years and years. in india, this happens all the time... not everyone can afford to buy. they rent homes and live there for decades, the laws usually favour the tenant and getting rid of a tenant is nigh impossible. people such as bua ji might have their own family home in the village but in an expensive city like delhi... it's a rented place but is is abs your home.

my sasural was actually a place like this. my husband's masi's rented place, her home for thirty five years. she was also a widow, childless, and utterly colourful. she too took great pride in her home though she was almost penniless. she passed away and after that my husband insisted on returning the place to the landlord, otherwise in calcutta, someone else from the fam just shifts in and you can never get them out, unless you are prepared to go to the courts and hang around for twenty thirty years paying lawyers.

i loved your mentioning teh awesome threesome. that's right... asr, akash, nk. the trio again.

EPISODE 234

Day and Night

I loved this epi for so many reasons .This was one month anniversary of their wedding and within this month a lot has happened and surely the contrast of two different classes and their ways of dealing things was clearly shown here . Regardless the time and circumstances have been changed and the storms have been directed some where else in many cases but still how Rich and Poor deal things with different eyes is very much visible.

Pause here: Payesh who have love marriage are exchanging gifts alone and this side two of these who leave no stone in their vicinity to throw at each other are gathering the world's blessings in between family and friends.

Anjali and Babli talk over the unborn child was very insensitive as Anjali completely forgot she was sharing her excitement with an orphan...

Khushi's entrance in RM was questionable with anguish in each and every eye and the Aarti was done with forcefully acceptance while Arnav's entrance is done in GH with smiles , parsaad and Blessings.

The episode opened with Arnav who was busy working on his lap top when Buaji and Garima started peeking hesitantly. Arnav becomes aware of their presence and calls Buaji "buaji aap ho kya "..and she says nahi ..hum nahi. It was cute. but the women scurry backwards without a whisper...Both house ladies informs him about some visitors who are here to see him... Arnav walks in the living room assuming that they came in response to his call calmly and in great composure to get check mate...

Symbolism and connection:Loved this scene,DM idol behind the laptop as Truth is evading him just like DM. Yesterday - Khushi prevented the Prasad, truth reaching him just like the way she prevented shyam's truth reaching Arnav to protect him from hurt and he refused to sweets himself too because the truth is going to be laid out but he will refute purposely because of his anger... Today the truth is in front of him but he chooses to veil it with his own hindrance and reticence... as Laptop is an escape rout for him always... the metaphor of his inner barriers... Loved it. Hats off to CVs

Also soon Arnav will replace Salman's Khan in Khushi's life... Loved the the camera angle replacing Khan with Arnav...

ASR is sweating badly meaning he is melting due to HEAT of emotions and desires. Electricity goes away and there is nothing to prevent the ice turning to water... ASR's education on khushi and her family's values continues. As annoying as his behavior was today it simply emphasized his need to control and more importantly his fear of forming new relations.. because new relations means expectations, emotions.. and a need to be dependent on another.. irrespective of how hard he tries to fight it his love for Khushi is not deteriorating as he would like to believe but simply strengthening with time...

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS: Khushi pastes Arnav's pic at the top of Salman Khan after her Roca..."aaj se hum paraye ho gaye..." and she commands her Laad Governor to smile through Moon and star convo and he does follow orders from his heart's queen.

Here comes Mun dukhaye.Such a contrast of Khushi's and Arnav .Khushi was questioned again by the society in a humiliated way with derogatory remarks .On the other hand on Arnav's mun dikhaye , the guests were interested to know about him.My grabber is he was sitting very humbly and meekly.Unlike Khushi where ppl just want to show off, Arnav was receiving BLESSINGS by heart...the biggest gift ever to protect them from envy and evil to be with each other for forever.!!!

But one thing was evident, if he stood up for her on her mun dikhaye, Khushi was there to defend his man ...care and love is always there...

Loved Arnav's look when he was declared as a 10th grade pass and at the top was being compared with a petty shopper. But my grabber is Buaji's annoyance and anger when her SIL was taken that low.She stood up for him.Love Buaji here...He is her Arnav Babua...her Nandkishore which she declares in front of Ladies who affirm that from their heart before leaving..

My grabber is when Taayiji asks Arnav whether he keeps Khushi happy , Arnav mumbles " Whatever"..but she picks up on it [smart lady] and seeks clarification and Khushi explains nicely by dipping her smile that her husband just said that he will keep her happy for eternity ..Arnav is listening all quietly.. Here comes the unexpected...both get blessed to stay together always not for this lifetime but for eternity "saat Janam..."...and that wipes off their masked beaming smile immediately The artificial smiling and hurting Khushi's heart wounded the most...Arnav who is aware of her condition, looks at her deeply. Both exchange questionable glances but unfortunately both are unable to answer any one of these rising tides. They continue on their way with their oceanic love in their hearts but can't resist the depth of it and stop in the mid and give each other a very deep look hoping to see a waterbuoy which can show the depth of heated desires and longing residing within them and might can make them turn and hold each other for forever..hoping to stop the time !!

Arnav's who till now had never given a thought to the imbroglio that what will happen to Khushi after the expiration of this contract...but as Khushi said ,"agar haath chod diya tou Rangoli kharab ho gayegi."... He will process info over these experiences.

Arnav...subconsciously ...registering the one thing lacking in his armor ...the common man's touch, the emotions that drive them, the values they pass to their children and lastly the geniune happiness which they share seeing the other's happiness around them

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS:He is the one who will rewind Khushi's gear by forcing her and reminding her about all of this to take her home with him.

Today different personalities.. mind sets and worlds did collide with one another.. and it will take far more than a few days for them to begin understanding one another...I felt for Khushi today more than the wife or daughter I felt for a girl who has always been forced to strive for a sense of belonging.. Yes the Guptas care for her yet she is not their own has gradually shaped her the one we see before us today.. the girl who has perfected the art of deception by masking her true feelings . Today it was more deeper and clearer than ever..."aar par dikhta hai..."even if it was only for a moment we saw the emptiness and helplessness within her eyes with which she has buried the pain and pasted a smile upon her face.. a smile that conceals the wounds inflicted upon her very soul by the man she has unknowingly fell in love with...

She needs to come out of this delusion to that by hiding truths and masking fake smiles, nothing can be solved. With time one needs to mature and learn, one cant brush of every instant by hiding pain rather they need to evolve and learn better, Things will not fix by themselves. Arnav will help her mature and give her strength to face the harsh world. Both will learn about asli zindagi through each other. She will learn about his self made nature and he will learn how she conceals her deep pains behind her smile.

Finally AC comes which makes Gupta ladies displeased and discomfort at their lack of provision of comfort to him..Khushi watches the discomfited Amma and Buaji in silence and filled with embarrassment. Her face dwindled off at the indirect insult by her husband towards her family . But Both Ladies plastering a smile on their face allow Arnav to do whatever makes him comfortable and happy. Both leave silent Khushi with all the apologies for them .I must say Garima and Buaji are very understanding but my grabber is as this man of steel is melting because a person who talks with no fear and with eye contact with others is now unable to look at Buaji or Garima in the eye..He was fleeting his eyes away where his conscience was poking him for his has pricked him over his deplorable behavior and attitude that has hurt the loving hearts ...

Pause here: Recalling the contrasting first day of both of them in each other's house after Amma's reminder ...There ,she was thrown out of her room and her feelings were not respected .This is the first time a glimpse of Khushi's mind reels out the painful time which has been thrown her into this agitated hell by plastering a smile on her face.Today, on contrary Her family bends backwards to keep him happy, his happiness is their priority even at the cost of their own respect while she was disrespected all across...Relationships and and their strength is important than their own pride .Arnav registered that his happiness is Very important to them...What a lesson, could this be taught in any university.absolutely not...This valuable input will actually help Arnav in the long run.

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS:Arnav's dialogue..."Jab mein chala jaaonga to sabke kaam aayega" [it will help everyone when I won't be here] ...That indicates separation [it supposed to be Khushi but we got him kidnapped] ... separation did make em realize how important they are to each other, how they complete each other, how they are two halves of one whole, two lives one soul.

Furious Khushi comes to her room and gets shocked to see the changes , She takes it as his giving her the piece of minf the same way she did in his room. She decides to give him a lesson of life to meet the realities. She pushes off the things in her anger and that shows how she is picking her hubby habits as Arnav does the same with her but her next move shows how deeply he rules her heart. She picks up all the towels and arranged them the way these were before . Regardless whatever he did to her , the tumult of emotions within her where her Arnavji is concerned is far more then anger or a need to get even.. beneath her irritation lies the root of her problem, LOVE of Arnavji.. she adores him even after what he has put her through. He is the owner of her HEART!!!

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS with Symbolism:She told Arnav on Payesh Sangeet, "humare paas who hai jis keh rehte hum aap khabi nahin ban sakte, Use DIL kehte hain..."[I have heart and because of that I can't be like u]...Three towels...Three relationships.. Arnav & khushi, Akash & Payal, Anjali & Shyam...[Triquetra game]..One wrong act of hers will effect these ..It does effect during revelation of Shyam but she is the one who is putting things in order and indeed she is the one who brought peace in everyone's life but with Arnav by her side...

Khushi was so cute today even after threatening to teach him a lesson she remembered he was allergic to the mosquito coil and found another solution.. an aspect of concern , consideration layered with LOVE...Her core nature stays intact regardless she has changed in anger and frustration she would rather not look into at the moment..!!!

Lessons of life come with experience .

"So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains, and we never even know we have the key."The Eagles

The key is to pause and trace your own steps to look at each other at a different angle ..and that will make her to see , she has a hubby in a million who can do anything for her smile and He can see a rare and a pure diamond in his Khushi who can give her life for him ,for his peace of mind.

Just like the mosquito coil , their misunderstandings are coiling their brain wires to cut the light source and they are not seeing through this darkness.

PONDERING CONNECTED DOTS:The darkness took me to the "black out" of the day of Payal's first wedding where neighbors were accusing her the reason of this broken marriage and family taunted her in this matter. But the main culprit was ASR...but he became a "savior" and today Payal is happily married to Akash.Today again because of Arnav's AC , The power of the town is gone..."load has increased" LOVE this dialogue..indeed Shyam's evil darkness has increased and when Buahi said earlier " the walls are strong like them" meaning they have survived through Shyam's evil darkness...Babuji is alive and Khushi is safe and indeed the sun has to rise through this darkness and Arnav is a savior here too for ALL.

Pause here: Khushi will be stigmatized but the LOAD will be taken care of Arnav and later he does everything in his power to make her HIS..

1. Loved this scene,DM idol behind the laptop as Truth is evading him just like DM. This was brilliant Faiqu.⭐️ All in blue I loved and the four points and edits I singled out have blown me over.

It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to see the episode in your light that brightens and focuses and cuts through darkness and makes so many things distinct and clear.

Two people from two different worlds gel unexpectedly. And in the GH episodes Arnav learns so much about the life of the class whose aukat he had always questioned. I think he was able to do so because he had the same dil as Khushi did. His was just waistcoated while she wore hers on her sleeve!

Btw dont tell me you wrote this excellent piece while doing laundry!!😉

I found this an extremely difficult episode to start writing about. How do you start when you have an aversion to what it shown? For one thing if this is about TRP then what was the TRP bringing thing? That Arnav was wet and shirtless or that Khushi was teaching him a lesson? If it was about drooling on Arnav I can come up with fifteen different scenarios right now. While she irritates him he pulls her inside and we get a rabba ve. Cliche sure yet way more enjoyable right? And if he needed to be taught a lesson her earnest speech as in the dargah or even later in the day today would have left much more of an impression than what she is about to do.
"Aap Indraji se kahiye". "thik hai tum phone karo main baat karta hun." He is stuck in a bathroom with barely room to stand. Face covered with soap, no water, unhelpful infuriating wife and yet ready to solve the problem. How is Khushi resisting this man? Amma and buaji at least show some panic at parading damadji outside in this state. Really if it was this normal as roz ek kabhi kabhi do baar why don't I see any grown men bathing outside? Won't even go into that debate. Once his vision clears you can see Arnav aghast and I cannot get myself to listen to any of Khushi's side's excuses for doing this to her husband. When she is about to mention her pati owns AR.. He immediately stops her and you realize how important this man his. His family, the writers, his wife everyone takes him for granted. But he is after all a top businessman with a reputation to uphold. It is not Vimla mausi's fault that given a chance she would eagerly wipe off the extra soap from behind Barun's ear but today I grit my teeth and wish she minded her own business for this once. Arnav is squirming, uncomfortable and angry. He walks away with "baat mat karo..I don't want to talk to you." I feel that too.

You know what really makes me mad is that he was really not okay with this and still Khushi felt not one bit of remorse. So she wants to show him this extreme middle class side of things but this is not really common anymore. Lets say he says he likes his girl in western short dresses. Everyone in his society wears them and forces his wife to wear it for him saying there is nothing wrong in it. Whom would we side with in that case? She was the wife of this business tycoon but never once did he ask her to change for him. Instead when she tried to on their dinner date he claimed she was the coolest person he knew and should do what feels right to her. And here Khushi is shown putting him in this very awkward position which he feels so uncomfortable about. Am very very bothered by these 5 minutes. Apologies if I sounded too preachy, strict .. can't help my self today..

Lingering frustration, unvented anger..Barun got the right expression while murderously looking at his laptop and phone running out of battery. Notice he still keeps the problem to himself. Am going to ignore Khushi for some more time though her Arnavji has quietened down listening to her voice. He decided to take matters into his own hands regarding lunch today. "Paanch Hajaar"! in a really cute accent by Amma. How normal to not want to take money from the damadji... Buaji and aunty try to scrounge money to pay the bill. Has me in tears seeing their desperation over something in a way quite trivial. It is a good detail that Khushi gave the money she earned to her family. But that does not mean I am in talking terms with her yet. She has seen the bill and again misunderstands Arnavji's intentions.

Already my mood is off and then we get snakewa plotting. No one suspecting his evil intentions. Maybe I shouldn't be writing at all. Skip it, eat some jilebis while dancing to Hindi music and go to the next episode, exactly how our heroine would have reacted. No am not going to think about her even.

He sees the food and immediately takes out his wallet. It was always his idea that he would pay. This time both the ladies don't seem as upset as about the AC. Buaji rushes to switch on the cooler but not before Arnav tries to stop her. Yes he is no longer that overly nervous new damadji. This is the man we know and admire so much. When he quickly says "ji buaji" and the two ladies smile in relief exhaling the breath they were holding, it feels so good. Very nice acting.

He was considerate after all. Ordered keeping in mind everyone. So now his wife decides to be touched and a little tearful. Maybe I can think of forgiving her after all. He brought you teekha italian khana and look what you did to him? Feel the guilt girl.. hmm anyone else want to know what the man ordered for himself? The atmosphere has changed in the Gupta household. No longer the chaos. A calm descends as everyone gets used to the new food and the fact that their damadji is not as scary as their daughter had portrayed or he himself portrays. When bitwa explains "Aunty isse aise khate hai" am in tears. I like to believe am not that easily moved by a mere television show but somehow I am really touched. How simply he asks "aapko khana achaha laga?" . I think we are gettign glimpses of how he would have been with his mother .. uncomplicated ,down to earth, eager to please and involve. Like Khushi even I wait with abated breath to hear the verdict. The ladies are always ready to please the damadji so how can they not like the food. I am remembering the scene where later the two will try to read a cookbook and make pasta for their favourite bitwa. But today it didn't really matter if the taste was to their liking on or not. He does it in his definitely unorthodox way but the gesture itself has the purest of intentions and no disrespect.

No today I won't get to leave happy. Mohan comes and calls sir outside. Nice direction that he doesn't speak of this in front of sir's new family. This is the last straw. His what the almost begging to be completed today! This time sir goes inside and asks madam to come out. If I was Khushi and saw that scary glint in Arnavji's eyes I would walk out quietly. Again its good to see he did not want to create a scene in front of her family. Drags her in anger his control completely lost. This is not a moment to be cute. Arnav clenches his jaws, turns her head around to show what is the real problem. The music is trying to make it funny and Sanaya tries the sanka act but I am shaking my head. Is she blind to the grimace, the eye roll, the body language which exudes the effort Arnav is having to exert to remain in control! This is serious. What it is leading up to is way serious.

He thinks it is so ridiculous that he blames his wife for it. And she takes umbrage at his insinuation. He has said much worse and more hurting things and Khushi has dealt with it much more gracefully and forcefully. Oh how I lament the loss of that girl I knew... He keeps bringing the morning incident into his arguments. We know that her callous behaviour has disturbed him, hurt him. In a way that is what is triggering this outburst. I hate them fighting this way. They have done it before but somehow this fight seems way more public. Am feeling awful seeing her walk away and him giving up, leaning that way on his white SUV, looking around slightly lost .

Aarwen love your take and anger!🤗 Rightfully so! I absolutely felt the same when I saw this episode for the first time. It was stupid and embarrassing for me to watch ASR in this state. IPK 's target audience was the urban middle middle and upper middle class and obviously the global audience who dont exactly live in shanties and take public baths. But public baths have not lost their usefulness among many in India who dont have a better alternative. The CVs maybe were trying to show that Khushi's ploy of humiliating Arnav had failed because the locals of Laxminagar were actually empathising with the man rather than ridiculing him. But they failed miserably in the manner they handled the scenes. It is how you present a shirtless man...as a work of art or cheap entertainment.
