Farah Khan’s home kitchen series with her cook Dilip has been making quiet waves online for a while. Now, it’s got the Freddy Birdy stamp of approval. The writer and Instagram personality recently shared a review of the show on his social media, calling it a charming example of “domestic nepotism”—a phrase that’s since grabbed attention.
Praising Farah, Freddy wrote, “My lovely friend, the super-hit director, choreographer, dance show judge, and everyone’s best buddy in Bollywood is now also a YouTube conqueror. Farah Khan has introduced us to a new, wonderful kind of domestic nepotism, for want of a better term and I mean that in the loveliest way where she champions her cook Dilip.”
Farah, clearly moved, responded with affection and humour. “Freddyyyyyy urs is the only review that matters to me… wowww this is a review worth waiting for,” she wrote. “I wish I had a freezer big enough. Needless to say, you’re getting a roast chicken for sure whenever I actually meet you. Thank you from Dilip and moi. You’ve made my day.”
Pinkie Roshan, Hrithik Roshan’s mother, also joined in with a nostalgic and heartfelt note. “Best review for the BEST and a lovely PERSON @farahkhankunder, whose sense of humour comes from her mother Menaka, with whom I had the pleasure of spending a lot of time,” she wrote. “Thanks @freddy_birdy for this and love you @farahkhankunder. Kaho Na… Pyaar Hai.”
The vlogs, filmed from Farah’s home, combine food with casual celebrity hangouts. Dilip handles the cooking, while Farah manages the camera and conversation. Their rapport—peppered with humour, teasing, and real kitchen chaos—has struck a chord.
The guest list has been equally engaging, with appearances from Raveena Tandon, Kajol, Sonali Bendre, Vijay Varma, Malaika Arora, Kabir Khan, Apurva Mukhija, and Aditi Rao Hydari.
On the professional front, Farah was recently seen hosting Celebrity MasterChef, sharing space with chefs Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar. The unexpected praise from Freddy Birdy and the warm reactions that followed only reaffirm that sometimes, the simplest ideas, like letting your cook take the spotlight resonate the most.
