Has Karisma Kapoor also staked her claim in Sunjay Kapur's Rs 30,000 crore estate? Here's what we know

The shocking demise of Sona Comstar chairman, Sunjay Kapur plunged India’s business world into grief. He died while playing polo in London. Now, reports are coming in of a dispute regarding his Rs 30,000 crore property. It was reported that Sunjay Kapur died of cardiac arrest after swallowing a bee on the polo grounds. But his family is raising questions around his death now asking if it is something more than what meets the eye. Late Sunjay Kapur took over the company from his father, Surinder Kapur who passed away a decade earlier.

A report in Dainik Jagran has suggested that even Karisma Kapoor is considering seeking a stake in his Rs 30,000 crore estate. When they formally divorced in 2016, he gave her a flat in Mumbai and made bonds of Rs 14 crores for his children, Samaira and Kiaan Raj Kapur. After that, he married Priya Sachdev with whom he has a son Azarias. As per the law, Karisma Kapoor’s kids and Azarias are entitled to his estate as per the will (if there is any). Priya Sachdev has been appointed as a non-executive director in Sona Comstar as per a decision by board of directors. They have made late Sunjay Kapur the chairman emeritus of the firm.

Rani Surinder Kapur has claimed that she holds the majority stake in Sona Group, and is the heir to the family’s estate. She also has two daughters, Mandhira Kapur Smith and Superna Motwane. Mandhira is also in the business of automotive parts and manufacturing. Before the Annual General Meeting of Sona Comstar, she said that some people wanted to usurp the legacy and she had not permitted anyone to act on her behalf.

The lady has questioned the demise of her son due to a cardiac arrest. She has hired senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar to represent her in Court. Kapur has said that she was forced to sign some documents when she was in deep sorrow.
