Bids ... Very timely and interesting question ... Especially in light of his car conversation ... He says to her ... Mujeh tumhay koi jawab denay ki zaroorat nahin hai ... And then the next moment goes and gives her a jawab ... Clearly looking across the room and says ... I did this and now what I did at the pool is insignificant ... He minimizes a most intimate moment between the two and will trash it completely, not too far in the future ... I completely agree, this was not a decision ... It was completely an impulsive act ... The minute mamji says to Khushi, Aab tumhay yehan Anaya ki zaroorat nahin hai ... He realizes ... Never to see her again ... Had not thought through any of the consequences ... Just was in a hurry to withdraw himself from the situation ... The frustration, when she is leaving and he cannot stop her ... The panic ... The Stop this nonsense everyone ... His rush to go after her ...
His reaction in the car is puzzling to say the least ... I really believe, he would not have said anything ... It is the start of the Farak padta hai ... He would have led her with more question ... You want to know about the Payal ? Had she said yes ... He would have, entirely my point of view asked, Why do you think ? Would have goaded her further into admitting her feelings for him ... Similar to the Poolside conversations, days later ... Tumhay kuon Farak padta hai meri sagai kal hi ya ek saal baad ... And her response would have been another chirpy non answer ... So I think they would have ended up exactly where we leave them ... Heartbroken and frustrating stubborn ... Just like you said, idiots both of them ...
Jump in folks ... Love to hear others ...😊
Jumping in right here. Ipoona, you hit the nail right in the head with that bold. Yes it is indeed the start of farq padtha hai.. or rather the facade of "NAHI" padtha hai.. if she persisted he would have said what all he did at the GH door step.. "uska koi matlab nahi.. doesn't mean a thing"..
Her feiging chirpiness is annoying him to the core.. for him, he is a man of the HEAD.. so it may not mean a thing, but she is a girl of all heart .. and HOW can she be NOT affected? some thing he couldn't fathom..
And, yes they would have exactly ended up where they were, not becos the story had to progress, but it truly wouldn't have sit with his character had he admitted at his very first weak moment. He was well attracted to her from the word go.. The beauty of ASR for me was he was NEVER confused about his attraction for her , but always tried to rub that way.. with his ego.. I wont let that girl bother me.. I write my own destiny.. i wont let some one else control my emotions.. BEAUTIFUL!
They were much more physically proximal many times earlier too.. falling on top of each other.. but they haven't scared him as much.. becos he was AWARE.. most of them were accidents/ intended.. be it the store room.. rangoli fall...but here he is, at a juncture where he is drawn to her like in a trance.. without an ounce of awareness of whats going around... loosing CONTROL...terrifying indeed.. and the knee jerk reaction is expected!
